Recently, I have not been very happy with the CV'S lately. This is because, I am disliking the way CV'S are portraying Muslims in the show. They are as if, comparing Hindus and Muslims. This is because they are showing that Nafeesa is a very heinous person who has an evil intention and she is a Muslim whereas, Payal is a very intelligent, noble person (she is starting to reform) but she is a Hindu. Also, another example is Pankhuri and Ayesha. Pankhuri is a very caring, simple, kind hearted girl who loves and cares for everyone. She is a Hindu. Ayesha, on the other hand, is very loud, absolutely opposite to Pankhuri in comparison. And she is a Muslim. Now, don't get me wrong because many Hindu's I am sure are very good people. But so are Muslims. Society always show Muslims to be wrong, to be horrid people. They always belittle Muslims. But Muslims are not horrendous people. I don't like what the CV'S are attempting to convey to the audience. CV'S are trying to convey to the audience that Muslims are sly people. This is setting a horrible example to us. I, myself am a Muslim, and I cannot tolerate when somebody insults Islam or illustrates Muslims to be terrible people. Whenever something wrong happens, society points out that Muslims are at fault. We do know that Nafeesa and Nilofer are meant to be the antagonists of the show, but why are they portraying Muslims to be bad?

Note: In this post, I did not intend to hurt, or harm anybody. I apologise if this hurt anybody, but please try to understand how I, a Muslim is feeling. I am just very frustrated at the turn of events. Try to understand my wrath. Also, I am not comparing religions or anything.

I agree to you but my reasoning is slightly different. Personally I feel almost every daily show on air these days which portrays Muslims is portraying them wrongly...most Muslim girls are shown to be of very loose character and boys aren't much different. Nafisa is shown being touchy and feely with another woman's husband...she kept touching him...even Ayesha has no problem touching anyone...it's not supposed to be like this...there's no modesty...what was the use of wearing a veil and all in Lucknow only to take it off in Mumbai??? I challenge these CVs to show a truly devout Muslim girl with a hijab and all...I guess she won't be Bollywood enough for them.

Yes, very well said! I absolutely agree with you. I am not liking the way CV'S are portraying Muslim and Islam itself. Muslims are very modest. I hope CV'S stop showing this nonsense by illustrating Muslims in a very horrid way. That is why I am not watching PKDH a lot at the moment as I do not like the way CV'S are insulting Muslims and Islam.

I don't think this has anything to do with being Hindu or Muslim but the fact that all three girls have been brought up very badly. The mother has failed to instil any values in them or to teach them about anything at all.

In the early days of the show they used to show long conversations between Pankhuri and her Dadaji and he used to teach her a lot of things and how to be sensitive to others. Here we don't see any such influence or interaction between the mother and the daughters. Moreover we all remember how close Pankhuri was to her cousin and vice-versa. Here despite being real sisters all three girls are spying on each other and finding ways to hurt and harm each other.

All this only shows that the Nilofer has failed as a mother, but it would be the same when we look at the other side of the coin too.

Even Sheila's children never respected any of the elders. Kaira even had a man living in with her in front of her parents. Even Rubel had a live-in relationship with Latika before marriage. Rubel was extremely negative and mercenary. We blamed it all on Sheila's upbringing. Didn't we?

Just because now the characters have Muslim names doesn't mean that there's religious bias.

And let's not forget that if Nafisa is piling on to Rubel, on the other hand there's Ayesha who doesn't allow Adi to even hold her hand or flirt with her. She goes to the Dargah to get Taaviz for him and gives a Shukraane ki Namaaz when the doctors declare him to out of danger.

Despite being a part of the Fashion Industry Arif asks his mother to get him married to the girl who hugged him (unintentionally from her side, but for him it was a big deal). That to me is a very sweet development.

We have to look at the overall picture here, methinks.

good post
I agree that portraying muslims in a wrong way against hindus is completely wrong and I'm against that too. However I don't think so much that PKDH is portraying muslims as inferior...but wont argue you have some stronger points. Agree with you

I personally don't know much about Islamic culture. The little I do know about day to day Muslims I have learned from shows like Qubool Hain, which I am sure is not totally realistic.

I agree on principle that showing people of a certain culture or religion in a bad or biased light is not a good thing. But I don't think in the case of PKD they have been trying to insult any religion. I agree with Purva above that even Rubel and Kaira were initially shown as spoiled and with little respect for elders. They lived away from home for a long time, so didn't have the same family values that girls like Pankuri had. This is not coz they lived overseas.(I live overseas too, and I have family values). But it was because they were never taught what to value!!

In this case Niloufer has not succeeded in imparting to her daughters what is important. Yes they seem like nice enough girls, but Ayesha never listens to her mother. She is difiant. But she has a good heart. Nafeesa is jealous in nature and cunning. What she is doing with Rubel is disgusting. She is conspiring to break up a marriage. But at the same time, we are shown that the REASON that she is succeeding in manipulating them is actually the fault of Rubel and Payal. They both have too much ego and anger. Payal is by no means perfect. She drinks and she parties too much. She even had an abortion? How does that make her a perfect Hindu girl?

So I don't think this is about religion at all. This is about people. I think they made the family Muslim to make Ayesha different in every possible way to Pankuri. Also, initially it was easy to hide her coz she was wearing the Burka. Non of that would be possible if she was Hindu.

P.S. I am not Hindu or Muslim and I am not even Indian. So my opinion is totally unbiased!

As a Muslim I feel they have made Muslims look like a joke. It's not just the girls, but even Ghalib looks like a total loser and he's supposed to be Muslim, I recon Arif is supposed to be Muslim too and he and his mother also seemt o be very cunning.

And yes, Qubool Hai is abt the worst show to learn about Islam from. Shame on its makers.
