CHAPTER-3

19^th march 2003

(20 years later)

Many thing happened in the past 20 years, his life changed a lot, he made big decisions in a very small age, he thought like an adult, struggled in all those years, but he was still happy, because, he won a challenge, and that was, he escaped fromthe orphanage. To live his life on his own.

Adi, is now a grown up, infact he's now an adult, he escaped from the orphanage 10 years ago. And started his new life. he is now living in Mumbai. he arrived there 10 years ago. He had no ticket, he just sat at the top of the train without anyone knowing that there is someone sitting above the train, when he arrived to Mumbai, he worked various jobs, from big to small, such as washing clothes, as a helper, and many more. He worked hard to educate himself, he is now in college. He is now working a part- time job in a call centre and is having an efficient salary. he is doing well in life, the first 5 years after he escaped from the orphanage was his biggest struggle. He did'nt understand what to do, how to live his life, sometimes, he even slept at the sidewalk and begged people for money, sometimes, he slept without eating anything.

Adi was going on his way to college, he had just finish all his work at the call center. he was looking for an auto. So he found one, he told him to go to saint mary's college. So the autorickshaw driver drove him to his destination, then after a few minutes later, he reached his destination.

Adi was going inside the college, it was his second year in college. He learnt a lot from the previous year.

Adi has no friends in college, infact, he is a loner. Probably, because he cannot afford to buy expensive things that his classmates have. Everyone bullies him, he cannot fit in college, he has his own world, he always tries to ignore his classmates who always bullies him, but he is unable to get rid of them. But still, he is'nt weak, he doesn't care what people thinks about him, because for him, the most important thing in this world is his present and future. He doesn't think much about those people who bullies him, he just leaves them alone.

Time- 11:00 am.

Venue- st.mary's college.

As the bell ranged for the first period, adi went to his English classroom. As he went inside, everyone started to humiliate him, bully him, even in the presence of his teacher. His teacher tried to stop those who are bullying him, but they are not listening to him. Adi ignored the bullies, because he is used to them. He knows that they will never change, they will always stay as bullies.

While ignoring the bullies, adi went to sit at his seat. He sat alone everyday, because he is a loner, nobody likes to be his friend, because he is poor.

One day, there was a new student in his class, her name was pankhuri. She is in her second year of college, she will be adi's new classmate. She was very kind, sweet charming and understanding. She sat with adi in the English class. She asked adi,

"what is your name?"

My name is adi, aditya kumar. Said adi,

Oh, what a lovely name, hi,my name is pankhuri. I'm a transfer student from kullu.

Hey, i'm from kullu too! Said adi,

Oh really, can you tell me where did you live in kullu? What is your mom and dad's name?

Adi became silent for a minute. And then he said, no, i can't tell you who they are.

Pankhuri asked, why? Why not?

Adi said, because...

Pankhuri said, okay, its your choice, i wont force you,

Adi said, thanks for understanding me.

Pankuri asked adi, adi, can we be friends?
