Chapter 12:

At Mumbai Airport,

Adi: Take care Rubel. Call when you've reached safely

Rubel: Bye Adi and Pankhu! Take care of everyone at home

Kaira: And take care of yourselves too!

As the two of them leave, Pankhu notices Adi getting emotional

Pankhu: Adi, are you alright? You look like you are crying

Adi: Me... Crying?

Pankhu: Oh come on... I can see you are tearing

Adi: Oh not at all... It's because of some dust that went into my eyes

Pankhu places her hand on Adi's shoulder and he turns and hugs her. Without letting her go,

Adi: I'm gonna miss them yaar... Without them, I'll be alone!

Pankhu: Adi, I'm still here with you.

Adi lets go of Pankhu.

Pankhu: Now you know why Mom didn't want you to go alone?

Adi: Mom...She told you everything didn't she?

Pankhu: Yes, everything especially what happened the last time. I also know your comfort food is Ice Cream so shall we get ourselves Ice Cream?

Adi: Ice Cream? Yes let's go now.

Adi and Pankhu reach the ice cream parlour and get their ice creams. As they sit down to eat their Ice Creams, Adi initiates a conversation

Adi: Pankhu, do you know what day it is tomorrow?

Pankhu: Feb 14, V Day

Adi: So, how do you usually celebrate it?

Pankhu: Well, I spent V Day with my loved ones

Adi: Loved Ones only?

Pankhu: Yes. I usually spend time with Dadaji, Mumma, Papa and my family. V Day was just an ordinary day.

Adi: Was...

Pankhu: I meant to say Is. What about you?

Adi: Same. Spending time with loved ones. Pankhu, what do you think about love?

Pankhu: A beautiful pitfall.

Adi: Interesting...

Pankhu: Why do you ask?

Adi: Actually, I think I might be in love... But I'm not sure...

Pankhu's heart sank. Adi was in love with someone. She was happy for him as a friend but she had her share of fear. What if it wasn't her?

Adi: Pankhu, will you help me?

Pankhu: Yeah, tell me?

Adi: Do you think I should tell her?

Pankhu: If you are really sure about your feelings, you should.

Adi: I'm worried she might say No and this might affect our friendship. Besides, I don't know her for so long.

Pankhu's mind began racing. Who did Adi know who fit into this category of not too long? As she recalled things, she remembered Jessica whom they had just knew for a month. She was a new student who had transferred in and she was the college's current heartthrob. She was friendly with everyone but Pankhu had noticed her being over friendly with Adi.

Snap Snap

Adi: Pankhu, are you okay?

Pankhu: Yes, I'm fine

Adi: Let's head home then.

As they made their way home, Pankhu was feeling terrible. As soon as they reached home, Pankhu cited headache as an excuse and went back to her room. Meanwhile Adi had requested Nanu and his parents to meet at the study.

Nanu: Yes Adi. Why did you call us here?

Adi: Nanu I need to talk to you about something that has been going on in my mind.

Avantika: What is it Adi?

Adi: Mom, I think I'm in love

Harish: What...

Adi: Yeah Dad. I was really confused over this but now I'm clear

Nanu: Who is it Adi?

Adi: Nanu, it's...

Avantika: Pankhuri

Adi looks at Avantika who bursts out laughing. Harish and Nanu follow suit.

Harish: Adi, Avantu and I have been waiting to hear this

Adi: How do you know? Aren't you guys upset or angry with me?

Avantika: Come on Adi. I've been waiting for this moment for years now.

Adi: Mom, I'm lost

Avantika explains the situation to him.

Adi: Mom, Dad, Nanu, I'm planning to tell her my feelings tomorrow.

Harish: Pankhu is going to have her Valentine's Day made extra special now.

Adi: But Mom, please inform Diwakar Uncle and Ambika Aunty. I don't know what Pankhu is feeling but if she rejects, I think they should know what has happened.

Nanu: All of us will be waiting for a good piece of news tomorrow.
