The Savior - Part 1
The night waned diminishing the darkness. The dawn blushed as the land reached the early morning wine. Phankudi drew the curtains, welcoming the morning light into the room. Moving back, she freed her wet hair from the wrap of the white towel. She then smiled thinking of how she could wake up her loving husband in a different way.
'Mmm...Oh! No!' Aditya rolled onto the other side of the bed as Phankudi brushed her wet hair against his face. Trying to open his sleepy eyes, Adi looked at his beautiful wife and then narrowed his eyes and said 'ten more minutes please'. 'No way! Not even a second!' Phankudi said in a strict tone and pulled the blanket. 'Well...' Adi muttered, pulling the blanket from the other side and made Phankudi fall on to the bed next to him. 'Adi' Phankudi said with a laugh and tried to get up from the bed. Before she could gather herself into a sitting position, Adi pulled her into him and whispered into her ears ' pehele ek morning kiss toh de dijiye, meri rani'. Blushing with his words, Phankudi pushed him, freed herself and jumped out of the bed quickly. 'This girl will never change' muttering to himself, Adi get up and went into the toilet.
Phankudi came into the kitchen thinking how she could make the arrangements for Rubal's wedding reception in such a short notice and that also without the help of Adi. She knew she was doing wrong by hiding the mere truth about her job from him. She never wanted to do so, but she had no choice now. She has tried to tell Adi about her job at DM, but failed. 'Phankudi, bring my breakfast' Adi called her from the hallway, making her to give a break to her thoughts. She hurried to the breakfast table, sat quietly and had breakfast silently. As usual Adi rushed his breakfast, gave a peck on her cheek and left for work.

Latika peeped out of the room and looked around and find no one outside. She gestured her mother to carry on with their talk. Her mother adviced her to force Rubal to establish the new business as soon as possible. With an evil grin Latika said ' ab dhekti hoon kaun mujhe ruksakti hoon' . Her mother who is well aware of her daughter's plans cheered for her courageousness. Little did they know that there was a third person who is well aware of what they were planning, hiding by the window.
'Dheko Anuj, how do I look?' Sheila tilted her head to her right side and looked at Anuj through the mirror. Aggravated of his wife's dramatic behaviour Anuj muttered 'not again Sheila! You cannot compete with the kids now'. 'Kya kaha?' Sheila asked in firmer tone and sprayed the perfume all over her sari.
Phankudi has finally decided to wear the white sari with silver and black decorations for Rubal's wedding reception. Although she was feeling little uncomfortable in the revealing sari, she too noticed how glamorous she looked in it. Trying to cover her bare shoulders with the pallu of her sari she came to the doorstep. 'Dhek, tumhare heroine aagya hai, Romeo' Harish pinched Adi and whispered into his ears as they saw Phankudi coming out.
Adi turned around and saw Phankudi approaching towards him slowly, like a blooming white lily, with hair open flowing around her shoulders, looking and smiling shyly at him making his heart to skip a beat or two. Without his knowledge he too approached towards her, mesmerized in her beauty and forgetting Avantika and Harish who were looking at them smiling. A wow escaped from Adi's mouth as they stop inches away from each other. 'Beautiful! May I?' Adi said outstretching his hand for Phankudi to hold onto. Entwining her fingers with Adi's they both walked to Avantika and Harish, who complimented her and went to the car.
'Congratulations, Sheila' Nisha congratulated Sheila, even though they knew they both were acting. Sheila then told Nisha that she had ordered her sari, especially for this day and she was wearing jewelleries that are worth more than she could just imagine.
'Avantika beta! Kaise ho tum?' Mr. Purshottam Deewan greeted his elder daughter and her family with Preeti, who was dressed in all black. Sheila was fuming in anger while watching her father-in-law enjoying and talking to Avantika and Aditya. Planning her next move in her mind, she approached towards them in her branded fake smile. 'Avantika, kaise hai tu? I'm so happy that you came' Sheila greeted Avantika and gestured Phankudi that she needed to talk to her. 'Excuse me Nanaji, I will be back' Phankudi excused herself and moved aside slowly, looking at Adi and Preeti who were busy talking to a friend.
'Phankudi beta, I know how bad it feels, but you know you have to check if everything is in place or not. It is your responsibility, right?' Sheila tried to convince Phankudi to go to the kitchen side and see the arrangements. 'I know mamiji, I can manage' Phankudi said, assuring Sheila that she could handle everything and went to see the arrangements. With a smirk Sheila thought, tonight even Avantika cannot save you from getting exposed to Adi.
'Nandu ji, check the trays again, and make sure that it is alright' Phankudi instructed the servant out there and informed all the waiters to be a little quick and steady. She then turned and walked towards the hall. Before she could reach the hall someone grabbed her right arm and dragged her aside.
