Everyone is having the time of their lives when Geeta walks in and starts accusing Harish. Harish, followed by Preeti starts defending himself. It became clear very soon why Sheela had picked Geeta to do the dirty. Unwittingly, the Guptas give credence to her story when she says to dadaji that she knows about people gossiping behind her back and this is the reason she never married etc. etc. Clever move by Sheela. 👏
Harish protests from the start but when Geeta brings up the abortion, and Avantika admits knowing about it...he shuts up and has nothing more to say. He probably promised Preeti never to tell anyone about it and he continues to keep mum.
Avantika keeps quiet until the abortion comes up, at which point she can't bear it anymore and heaps humiliation on Harish admitting she knew about it and that she saw him at the hospital with a woman.
Preeti from the first stands by Harish calling Geeta a liar. Interestingly, I don't think Preeti realized that she was the cause of the marriage break up as Ishka never gave any reasons. It was not until Adi's mehendi that the fact that Avantika thinks Harish had an affair comes out. Preeti at that time too, defended him. Today, too, she defends him from the start. She pleads with Avantika not to believe Geeta, saying she knows that the woman is lying. Upon Avantika's heartfelt "aaj toh mera saath do" she becomes desperate. Desperate for Avantika not to compound her mistakes, desperate for Harish not to be blamed anymore, she blurts out that she was the one who had the abortion.
All in all, it was pretty much what was expected by everyone. What happens now is the question. Surely, the Ishka MU will be resolved when Preeti finishes her story. Spotlight will then shift back to Geeta.
This is purely guessing on my part - I think Sheela will take advantage of the fact that the Guptas know Geeta and accuse them of orchestrating the whole drama. Geeta will back her up so as to be sure to get her money. Whether this causes a Paya rift has to be seen, but the families will be at odds again.
Good performances by Harish, Avantika, Preeti. The rest did not have much to do except looked shocked or in Sheela's case smug. It was the woman Geeta who was the weak link. Rather than wait around 20 years, she looked the sort who would bash up any man who did this to her. Her posture, expressions all were unconvincing. As a woman wronged, who is out for revenge, she was totally unbelievable.
