Misha paced around her room, confused. What were Jeh and T talking about? Eyes? Plan? Piya?
"It's probably just a prank," Misha assured herself, "
Lekin phir bhi, I should tell Piya."
"Hey sis, what's up?" Misha's sister, Panchi walked in right then.
"Fly away, birdie, I'm busy!" Misha exclaimed, "I have some very important things to do."
"God, you're so weird!" Panchi rolled her eyes and walked away.
(At Abhay's house)"Do I like her or not?" Abhay frowned as he ate his dinner. His parents, Chand and Haseena Raichand smiled at him.
Chand was almost fifteen years older than Haseena, who was barely twenty when she'd had Abhay. Abhay didn't know how they had fallen for each other. His mother was a beauty, and his father was quite old now. How could they still like each other?
"Kya soch rahe ho...Abhay?" Chand said in his usual, mysterious way. They all used to speak like that when Abhay was a child. Because of Haseena's fascination with black, Abhay used to think she was a witch or a vampire. So Chand and Haseena both began to speak in a weird way. Even after Abhay grew up, they still continued to tease him that way.
"Dad," Abhay asked, "How did you know
ki Mom se aap ko pyaar ho gaya tha?"
Chand chuckled, "I dreamt of her, I thought of her, I was always with her. I guess
jab hum kisi ke saath bohot time spend karte hain, then we start to feel lonely without them.
Shaayad yahi pyaar hai."
"I spend a lot of time with Piya," Abhay thought, "And I do miss her... Does that mean...?"
(Meanwhile, at Girl's Hostel, Mount College)
Piya was reading the rest of her vampire book, grinning. Love stories were cool - but a love triangle between a human and a vampire? That was so bizarre, she just had to read it.
Suddenly, her phone buzzed. "A text?" She wondered, and checked.
Hey Piya, how r u? Listen, i need 2 talk 2 u abt something. C u at the jungle, opp. the big dead tree at 9? :) cant wait! - Jeh"Oh my god!" Piya exclaimed, "I don't believe this... Jeh Khurana is gonna ask me to be his girlfriend today!! Mujhe Misha ko bolna hi hoga!"
Her phone rang, "
Dil Ibadat, kar raha hai, dhadkane meri sun..."
"MISHA!!!!" Piya shrieked, and Misha jumped a foot.
"
Kya hua, Piya?" Misha asked, "and listen, today -"
"Jeh texted me!
Shaayad woh mujhe propose karne wala hai!"
"What??" Misha gasped. Was that the plan? Was Jeh going to ask Piya out, and make it as special as possible?
"Dude, I have a bad feeling about this.
Tum mat jao!"
"Are you crazy, Misha??" Piya exclaimed, "I thought you'd be excited for me,
lekin tum... Tum aisa kyun keh rahi ho?"
"I can't explain, and -" Misha checked her watch. 8:15 pm. "SHIT!" Misha shouted, "I gotta go, Piya.
Please mat jaana, and take care! Bye!"
Proposal or not, she had to find out.
(
At the forest in ten minutes)
"Where is that T?" Jeh thought angrily, walking around their meeting place.
"Jeh!!!" T exclaimed, and Jeh almost jumped. She was standing right behind him.
"Whoops," Jeh laughed, "Sometimes I forget how quick you are."
"Whatever," T shrugged, "
Plan kya hai?"
"Look, T," Jeh sighed, "I know our families don't like each other that much, but being the leader, I have to take decisions. And I think we should all come together."
"Aww, okay!" T giggled, "Yes, I will marry you!" She hugged him.
"No!!" Jeh said, laughing, "I don't mean that, Tanu!
Mera matlab hai, vampires and werewolves have hated each other for centuries. But not any more. There is no suitable Vampress in Dehradun who can take over. And that is why we need Piya." He slammed his fist into the tree to show his point.
"
Main kab se keh rahi hoon, Jeh," T replied, "I can be a good leader."
"We need someone who can reinforce peace, who can take good decisions. And also,
Piya ek orphan hai, isliye uske parents se related problems bhi nahi hongi. Get my point?"
T fumed, but then nodded, "Okay.
Theek hai."
"Now, I've called her here, and I'll -"
"Stop..." T whispered, taking a deep breath, "Someone's coming. I smell blood... and a lot of alcohol in it, too... Someone who drinks a lot..."
Jeh, too, sniffs the air, "Yeah. Who is this? Whatever, let's talk normally. No one should find out."
T nodded, "Great, but I can... take care of this..."
"Shush!!" Jeh whispered, as he felt the human coming closer...
(Meanwhile...)Misha could hear someone talking, but she couldn't make out the words clearly. She moved closer, hiding behind a tree, and slowly took a sip of her vodka.
"...Jeh, that's an excellent idea! Piya will be SO pleased."
"Of course, Tanu.
Main usey bohot like karta hoon. Now you know what to do right?"
"Yes," Misha heard T's voice, "I checked her out on FB, so I know exactly what she looks like. As soon as she comes here, I'll pull the rope and
us par roses ki barsaat hogi!"
"Thanks," Jeh said, "Thanks so much, T. You are the BEST!"
"Whoa," Misha gasped, "This is for real!"
"I think she's here!!" T exclaimed, and Misha could hear her walk away. Jeh was breathing hard.
Finally, Misha heard the familiar sound of Piya's soft footsteps. "Jeh? Hi!"
"Hi, Piya," Jeh grinned, "Come, stand here." he dragged Piya towards him.
Misha saw a flush of red roses. Petals were falling all over Piya and Jeh, and the wind blew some towards Misha too. "Eww," She thought.
"Piya..." Jeh muttered, "I really like you. Will you go out with me?"
"I should leave them alone now," Misha grinned to herself, "Good luck, Piya."
She began walking to her bike, which she had parked a bit far away, and then drove off. If she had stayed even two more minutes, she would have heard the shrill shriek of a girl's voice, piercing the silent night sky...
Next: "Oh, Jeh!" Piya exclaimed, "I'm so surprised... But yes, I will date you. Thank you sooo much!!!"
Jeh grinned and hugged Piya, who closed her eyes, content.
Suddenly, a shadow swept across the tree. A girl landed her feet, near Piya. It was T.
She opened her mouth wide, smiled at her poor, innocent victim resting in her so-called new boyfriend's arms, and then all she could sense, smell, feel and taste... was blood.
