Part 2 (Deal for Life)
Maithli caressed Abhay's cheek with affection, her inviting red lips curled into a seductive smile, "See Abhayendra, our connection is still strong as ever!! you are here with me before I even wanted you to be..."
Abhay jerked her hand from his face and closed his eyes, trying to control the anger, "Cut the crap and come to the point Maithli. Why are you here?"
Maithli pouted, "Is this the way to greet your beautiful lover?" Abhay darted his eyes from Maithli in aversion. Maithli gave a raucous laugh, "1 year resting in the ice has really opened some frozen tissues in your brain isn't it? I had to come.. for you Abhayendra.. for that human Piya (gritted teeth) who released you out from my spell!! So I had to come na.. to give her a prize for this sideshow" This is exactly what Abhay was dreading. He knew she would come back to claim her but this would be the worst time for Maithli's return. He has already the werewolves' clan to deal with, more vampires entering the city and now the worst one Maithli. How would he save Piya from everything? Atleast Jeh loves Piya so he would not ran for her life but Maithli, she would play with Piya's life like a ping-pong ball to get her hands on Abhay once again. She would go to any extent and it's written all-over her face. Maithli gave a laugh again, "What Abhayendra? Why the silence? Pondering on would you save your little precious Piya? Don't worry; she has a wolf to save her now."
Abhay looked at Maithli, completely shocked. Maithli's evil grin broadened a bit, "Surprise!! You think I haven't done my homework before returning? I have been keeping that human's track for ages. I must say, she's something. You manipulated her memory but still she just can't get her hands off you. Can she? I could have ripped her heart just like this (she clicked her fingers in the air).. but I spared her. Because of you. I can't see my baby angry at me."
Abhay burst out, "Stop this s*** of yours. I don't love you anymore. The Maithli I loved is dead and I scarified my life for my love. But you? You are not her and if you even try to touch Piya. I would not hesitate to kill you I swear." Pain and anger flickered into Maithli's eyes but she stayed calm, "Aww my baby.. You would never kill me. You just can't. Otherwise you would have finished me off with Siddarth one year back. You want Piya safe and I want you. Simple!! So let's make a deal. You want that human to lead a normal life. The best solution for that can be both you and that dog would stay away from her. I will help you finish the wolves and spare her life. But you would come with me."
Abhay (furious): "never. I'm not feeding on your bull****. You claim to love me and you are ready to kill my love for your own happiness? That's why you sealed into ice? This is not love Maithli. It's obsession.. Madness!!"
Maithli circled around him and looked at him again, "How long you're gonna ran from me ha? You won't admit but you just fell in love with ME all over again when you see my look-alike Piya, Abhayendra. Admit it. Moreover you haven't got any other options to save her. You won't accept her, the wolves are all ready to sink their claws into you and they would use Piya as bait for that. I would help you kill Jeh and his mother. As well as you would leave town with me. She's a human Abhay. She will forget both of you in the long run and lead a normal life."
Abhay knew presently, the best way is to agree with her. In this way Piya would be away from all the dangers but how could he left her like this. Who will save her from all the dangers? The thought of never-seeing Piya again felt like someone stabbing into his heart with a silver knife. The heartache of losing his beloved all over again was written everywhere on his face. Nevertheless this is what he wanted, a normal life for Piya. If the werewolves can be killed, Piya will be saved but he can't trust Maithli.
He fired on Maithli, "Listen Maithli. She's nothing like you. NOTHING!! She has a beautiful heart unlike you and about trust and conscience; I wouldn't even go to that part!! Coming to the deal, I will do anything to save Piya. Whatever it takes!! Even if that means, going with you."
A triumphant smile played on Maithli's face, "Aha.. You started listening to your brain. Life for life, Abhayendra. She's your life and you are MINE. I gave her life back, you gave mine. If you try to cross me, I will kill Piya on the spot. You have two days to think. After two days we will attack on the wolves. I have a plan. I will discuss it with you tomorrow. For now, I have some errands to run." She swiftly kissed Abhay's cheek, leaving Abhay in disgust and disappeared with the wind.
Abhay trembled with the thought of loosing Piya. Maithli is a crazy-ex on the loose and her threats her not to be taken lightly. Abhay will play with Maithli following her strategies. He will move Piya away from here before 2 days and he has to go it within tomorrow. Nevertheless, Piya hates him now breaking her heart like a delicate china glass again and again. She would never trust her right now. Desperate situation calls for desperate measures so he has to convince Piya and he knows too well how to do that.
Piya's room:
Abhay entered Piya's room silently through the window and she was no where to be seen. Sound of tap water running came from the bathroom and he figured where she was. The room was dimly lighted so he assumed she was going to sleep. Piya came out of the bathroom in her sleeping suit, toweling her face. She stood front of the mirror to comb her hair and suddenly a strong pair of arms encircled her waist, hugging her from behind, throwing a chill all over her delicate figure.
She looked in the mirror and her eyes got locked on Abhay making her jaw almost dropped in shock, baby-brown eyes popping out of the socket. She almost screamed, "Abh.." before she could finish Abhay swiftly hushed her putting his cold finger on her lips, muttering "Shh.. don't worry I just want to talk Piya. I am so sorry I was rude to you all the time. I can't take it anymore. Staying away from you. Please forgive me for the last time!!"
Piya's brain was telling her to scream and ran away because he's a killer. He changes color faster then chameleon and does whatever he wants to. He's one arrogant brat who plays with her heart, comforts it, squeezes it and throw it like dirt whenever he wants to. Nevertheless, she was unable to move from the grip of these strong arms around her. His chin resting on her shoulder, she could feel his cold lips brushing on her shoulders as he mumbles apology in his sweet voice again and again throwing shudders all over her body. She was unable to move his hands and her own hands too, her heart pounding as hammer and failing to stop doesn't matter how hard she's trying to. He hates her, she hates him then why his touch was overpowering on her body, mind and soul. With all the strength she moved her lips, "Abhay, what do you want? I'm not your puppet. You just insulted me few hours ago saying everything between us is over then what do you want now? I'm tired of your mood swings. I'm not interested in suffering your emotional trauma."
Abhay could feel her voice trembling as he saw tears swelling into her beautiful baby brown eyes. Abhay's heart cried in pain, her tears were his. It's because of him. He hated himself for causing so much pain to her.
He turned her and made her sit on the bed and sat in front of her on his knees, holding her hands in his.
"Who are you now Abhay?" Piya asked him slowly with tears in her eyes.
"I'm who you want to be with Piya. I know I hurt you and play with your feelings but that is only for your own good Piya. Trust me whenever I hurt you, it injures my heart more then yours. But how would I make you understand I'm no good for you. I'm darkness and you are light Piya. Being with me would only lead you to the dead end."
Piya looked at the hypnotic blue yes, filled with pain and helplessness. How could this man ever hurt me? She wondered.
"Trust? Abhay trust is earned; I just can't magically surrender it to you. Can't you see what are you doing to me? I wasn't so shattered when I lost my memory but your change of attitude towards me even does worse than that. You expect me to do things without explaining. You say you love me, I'm the light of your darkness and next morning you say I should forget it? You maybe a heartless, arrogant creature but I'm human Abhay.. human.. My heart and mind has a limit. I can't take it anymore."
Piya tried to free her hands from Abhay's clutch but her fingers were too weak for that. She bit her lip, trying to control the anguish and sob of her heart.
What an irony, she just said my words for the first time. She's human and I'm not. That makes all the difference in the world.
Abhay gathered himself; this is no time for emotion. You have to save her.
Abhay tried to control her own agony and said, "If I tell you everything what happened between us a year before and why I ran away from you and why we can't be together. Would you trust me again like you always used to?"
Piya looked at Abhay with awe; she could hardly believe what she heard. The Truth is deep inside her heart she always trusted Abhay. Whatever monster he tries to prove himself, she knew too well he would save her from any danger lurking around her. Abhay could feel she still trusted her and he felt like killing himself for lying to her again.
"Listen Piya, your life is in grave danger. For once just listen to me (seeing Piya opening her mouth to ask something). Trust me for the last time, for the sake of all the time I saved you, for the sake of our long-lost love, for sake of the unchained affection we have for each other, for the sake of blind trust you had for me.. for the last time. TRUST ME PIYA.. And say you would do whatever I told you to.. I will explain everything to you tomorrow and answer to all your questions. No hide n seek. I promise."
His every word pinched Piya deep inside her heart. All she could see was love, fear for her, agony swimming in his icy blue eyes. How could she not trust him? How could she ever accuse him as a killer?
Piya's heart melted like butter as she nodded feverishly. She mumbled between her sob like a baby, "Do you promise? You would answer all my questions? No hide n seek?"
Abhay squeezed her hands in assurance and then wiped the tears from her cheek, "I promise. For the last time!! I would take you somewhere far from this place tomorrow. Only for 2 days and you won't ask me anything right now. This is for your safety."
"But Abhay, who would try to harm me? I have no enemy."
"Piya, this is someone from our past and you have to trust me on this. You have just agreed to do whatever I would ask you to. Promise me tomorrow you will go to college like any other normal day but..BUT you won't go to anyplace other then college. Not with Jeh, Misha.. Noone!! Is that understood? I would take to tomorrow night and will tell you everything then."
Nevertheless, Piya was still confused as ever. "But Abhay, what would I tell my family? Where are we going? What would I say if someone ask me something."
Abhay put his finger in her lips in desperation and said, "bohut sawal karti ho, kisiki nehi sunti!! You promised me.. just trust me for the last time and I will arrange everything."
Piya wanted to say, "No" but ended up saying, "I trust you Abhay."
Abhay kissed both her hands and put a quick peck on her cheek before leaving, "Just remember whatever I said. You are too much precious for me to lose Piya." And he left jumping out of the window, leaving a bewildered Piya behind.
Meanwhile Maithli saw Abhay going inside Piya's room and understood he never agreed to her deal and planning to move Piya before 2 days. Her eyes become blue in anger and her fangs came out. She wanted to rip and suck that human dry right away for whom her precious Abhayendra lied to her. You will pay for this Abhayendra.. you will pay for betraying Maithali and the price is Piya."
She called Jeh instantly, "Change of plans. Abhay is planning to move Piya from Dehradun for her safety. So we gotta jump in work tomorrow. You will bring her tomorrow in the jungle before sunset. I will perform the ritual right away. She trusts you so she will come with you."
(call ends) Jeh looked at his mom Dipannita. "Mom, plans changed. We attack on Abhay Raichand and that b**** tomorrow."
