She sat in the comfortable chair of her room, humming a soft tune. It was an old song which her mother used to sing to her as a lullaby. She didn't remember any of its words, just the tune. But it always calmed her. And whenever she hummed it she became lost in another world and become strangely indifferent to her surroundings.
That was the reason she didn't notice someone entering the room and taking his place by the piano.
Her eyes flew open when the tune she was humming starting playing in the room in the sound of the music played by the piano. For a moment, she was confused whether it was a dream or a reality. But it wasn't a dream; her eyes moved to the spot in her room where the grand piano was kept. She blinked as she saw a young man staring at her while he played the piano.
He continued playing, undisturbed by her questioning gaze. His eyes were shining and a smile was gracing his lips which formed a dimple in his cheek. She raised her eyebrows as she returned the smile gracefully.
"Wow! Gotta admit that you have quite the control on your emotions. You didn't scream because you were shocked to see a handsome young strange man sitting in your room, playing your piano. I am impressed." He laughed as he finished the song and walked towards her.
"You are not an animal or a vicious beast. Even if you were, I doubt I would ever react like the way you mentioned." She smirked as he smiled appreciatively and gave his head a slight bow.
"Oooh! You are quite the lady, aren't you? Needless to say it'll be fun serving you Princess." He showed his dazzling smile once again. She stood there, analyzing him for a moment. Then, she offered him her hand which he gratefully accepted and planted a kiss on it.
"Aaah! You're fast, aren't you?" She commented at his action and he laughed.
"That is one of my well known traits. I am impressed that you noticed it so soon."
"You are a easy guy to impress."
"Don't be under that impression, I am generally very hard to please. But there's something about you that I can't help being impressed."
"You're using an age old trick of flattery, I won't fall for that Charmer."
"With due respect, this is anything but flattery. I was just voicing out my genuine opinion about you, alas, you termed it as flattery. I am hurt." He put a hand on his heart and sighed sadly. A musical laughter escaped her lips. Seeing her laughing, he smiled as if he had accomplished a mission.
"Very well Charmer. May I ask what business brings you here?"
"Princess, I have been appointed by Madame. From now on my duty is to serve you and be with you 24x7."
"Unnie appointed you?" She seemed confused by his statement and her eyebrows creased a little. But she recovered it quickly.
"Oh well, forget it. We'll see to the whole serving thing later. We shall start with simple introduction, what else should I call you other than Charmer?" She asked with a smile but he felt that it wasn't the genuine smile she was showing him a few moments ago.
"Kabir." He said simply, her expressions made his tone serious and formal.
"Very well Kabir, I am Piya. Hope...that you'll have...a good time...serving me." She completed the sentence in breaking, her mind being lost in the middle of the sentence. She didn't wait and walked out of the room.
Kabir stared at her retreating back. After this rather interesting first meeting, he had gathered at least this much.
"There's something deep about her...something dark. If I am not wrong...something bloody?"
