Okay for updating late people we need time to develope story, we need tym to make it better and presentable to u and believe me it takes hell lot of tym to develope ideas. I gave u one example when I am travelling I just think that what will I write next in my FF. So it is thought-process.

And u can just PM the person who discontinues and make them to write more

In past post i saw ka7eela's name, she left the forum 2-3 months ago. Thats why she is not continuiing it.

If as writers we are responsible for keeping our FFs going, it is also necessary for our readers to understand and appreciate what we are doing...don't think anyone would be able to leave writing then, except of course, the reason is unavoidable.
