Well, by now, the whole forum knows about my undying love for the Salvatore brothers. And I guess we are soon gonna have our own unique desi Salvatores. I seriously cannot wait for Abhay and Sid to meet and see how their complicated but irrevocable sibling bond is explored. I have hope that it will be as epic as the Stamon bond because Sid is not negative. He is just , well, grey and that means there is a chance that inspite of all the darkness and bitterness between them , Sid would still love Abhay and Abhay would still have that soft corner for Sid. Anyway, let's get on with what happened today.
The emotional turmoil and the pull between Abhay-Piya taking a backseat on the psychological level , with both of them having reconciled to the fact that they will not be together , Abhay's self control and his emotional restraint has returned. And that restraint has helped Piya reach a comfort level with him where she can maneuver her emotions for him ( well sometimes) and they both can joke about Valentine's Day even as they are all alone in the library. She doesn't get conscious or hesitant seeing Abhay in the library . Infact , she smiles that even her 'friend' can't stand the hullabaloo surrounding this V day. Abhay kids her back with his straight faced dark humour that he can't be a par6t of this pink coloured circus. But Abhay-Piya all alone and no fireworks? Not possible. It is in unaware moments where their conditioned minds go to Miami for a swim that the lovers inside them raise their heads. So, when Piya falls into Abhay's arms from the ladder , you have one such moment. The smile on Piya's face is of sheer brilliance and she doesn't hop out of his arms with an 'oops sorry'. She stays there and Abhay keeps her there. For a few seconds they forget their agreement. Because this is how they want to be for real. And the whole world barring a few wants them together. The college mates come there at the moment spying on the college's star couple and tease them. I think that was adorable. They all were genuinely happy for Abhay-Piya and the teasing had no sarcasm and no ridicule in it. Abhay-Piya couldn't deny anything because Abhay has declared them as a couple. Just embarrassed , confused and the melancholy of the impossibility of their union. As they walk out of the library , you look at them and you know that deep down they both know that they are fighting a lost battle. There is going to be that one crashing wave of a moment and this drama is going to turn true.Or maybe it is true already. Abhay-Piya are together , aren't they? It is just a web of words designed skillfully by Abhay that keeps Piya at a distance.
The last scene was a heartbreaker , though. When Abhay gave Piya his hand , there was such lyrical beauty on Piya's face. Honestly , I think Piya is just a regular pretty girl next door. But when she looks at Abhay with that melting smile and such hopeful eyes shining with the love that she feels for Abhay , I think she looks beautiful. And Abhay, who knows Piya inside out reads himself in her eyes and on her face. He can see that Piya is forgetting that they are just faking being a couple – he fears that look in her eyes which is only for him. He fears being drawn back into an emotional whirlpool with her and immediately snaps her out of her pink bubble. What are you doing Piya? You are not supposed to look at me like that. It is unreal. We are not together, Piya. Don't take this lie seriously. And so breaks Piya's heart as Abhay snatches away that smile and that glow. Her face falls as she looks at Abhay and realizes the harsh truth.
It was rather harsh the way Abhay just crushed her heart but then, he has no option. Does he? He is the undead and she is a normal human being.
Anyway, moving on to the elder brother Sid. He is a heartbreaker to the core and a cute one , to be honest. Today, even though he was being his usual disgusting self , I did not find him disgusting. Infact, it was rather cute the way he was going on and on about his Casanova talents and how V day is a problem. He actually looked like a bratty child gloating over his toy accomplishments. Even Birdie didn't look irritated or disgusted. She was smiling at him with this amusement that you feel when you look at someone who is being sheer cute. Pancchi may have a zillion opinions on Sid but no , she does not hate him and he does not hate her. I found their car conversation and hotel room tu tu main main super cute. Sid just loves pricking and poking Pancchi . He loves this harmless fun and when she goes all red-yellow-green , you can see this cute triumphant smile on his face. Sid just lives for the day and he LOVES himself and his life. One can just hope that this joie de vivre rubs off on Pancchi too ( minus Sid's hedonism ) and the girl learns to let a little loose. Sid is not a good man, I know , I mean if you go by the conventional definitions of goodness , but no matter how dark or sadistic he is , he is capable of goodness.
Deep down, Sid has his demons – Abhay and Maithli ( it is more or less clear now ). Two people who are both the roses and thorns of his heart. Abhay , whose photograph he circles and Maithli whom he wishes a ridiculing Happy Valentine's Day and burns her picture. Sid is going to be dense , just like Abhay. I am just guessing right now but I see these as the only possibilities.
If you look at it , aren't Abhay and Sid already showing sibling traits? Abhay hides his heart behind the dark melancholic front and Sid hides his heart behind a loose careless character. Both refusing to stake their hearts ever again. Hmmm? It seems like Maithli's love separated them but am hopeful that after all these years , so much time , distance and darkness , maybe just maybe there is a possibility that the brothers could love each-other. I seriously don't want white brother and evil brother. Why can't we have a bond that is bruised but irrevocable between Abhay and Sid? It would be riveting to watch something like Stamon here.
Besides , Abhay and Sid already have shown enough traits of Stefan and Damon respectively. Abhay is fatally attractive , man of few words , kind , compassionate, melancholic and perpetually pained like Stefan. On the other hand, Sid is shamelessly sexy , naughty , immoral , grudgingly good like Damon. And both brothers have one thing in common – THEY. ARE. COMPLICATED.
P.S- I like the new guy, Shankar. Suave , smart and studious types . I hated what T did to him. She was the despo today. And can I say that TrAngad are the CUTEST and the HAPPIEST couple on PKYEK. I hope they stay like this till the end of the show- they are absolute pleasure to watch.
