Abhay-Piya : Forever in love with Maithli
Hmmm….
Isn't it strange to see a happy , tender and much-in-love Abhay for a few fleeting seconds? It becomes difficult to identify Maithli's Abhay with the frigid , dark and heartless man who breaks Piya's heart everyday. When you look at Abhay imagine Maithli in Piya and go back in time, you see Abhay's time with Maithli as a beautiful dream – a time where Abhay was happy. Maithli was happy .They both look so happy and madly in love. The way Abhay's expression softens and Maithli looks up at him with such tender eyes and a serene smile , one can understand that what a torture it is for Abhay to see Piya's face everyday and revisit the truth that his Maithli is lost…..Abhay is not heartless. He has chosen to be heartless because you can see it on his face that the day he releases his heart again , he will prefer to die than face emotions.
Where does Piya stand in all this? …. A lovely regular girl falling in love with a cold man whose heart beats for someone else. Today , as Abhay and Piya sat on different tables with their respective partners , you could see that Piya hates the sight of another woman with Abhay and Abhay cannot stand the sight of another man touching Piya….The way Abhay's expressions hardened when Piya's hand was in Kabir's hand and how Piya was upset enough to run to the washroom seeing Abhay treating T like a queen – it is an unsaid order of possession of each-other – the unsaid right over each-other. The connection exists and so the heart burns. Maybe Abhay is dealing better with it compared to Piya.
Abhay had gone after Piya to the washroom to pick up another fight with her – spite her , increase the hatred meter. And he did exactly that even though on the surface he saved her from a drunk lecherous man. And you could see how much Piya " HATES" Abhay when she was relieved and glad that Abhay had come to save her…And you could see how much Abhay's every word and action affects her when she felt more heartbroken than insulted as Abhay told the drunkard that there are better women outside…. Tears sprung up in the eyes of the very brave Piya. Pancchi was right. Piya can handle everyone but she becomes helpless when it comes to dealing with Abhay's abusive darts.
Kabir letting Piya slip away straight into Abhay's arms was kind of symbolic which he voiced later in the car. Piya always loses herself in Abhay and Abhay , though drifts away for a few moments is always the first one to break the emotional and physical energy between them. And Kabir read it today and he accepted it as well.
I don't think Piya can fight this for very long. I don't know how long she can hide behind fights and the mask of hatred for Abhay. It is becoming increasingly difficult to lie as well. She had to admit it today that she is failing miserably in distancing herself from Abhay and why can't she love Kabir if he is so good? There are no answers to that. Love is , well, just love. The heart wants what it wants and it does not see it necessary to explain why it beats for that certain someone……
Abhay hates it when he loses control and I think he will only get more aggressive in hating Piya because Maithli is his open wound. So, I expect more rudeness from him.
Kabir in a way gave a prophecy for Piya when he asked her about Abhay. He saw something in Piya's eyes – for Abhay and Kabir sensed the strength and intensity of it. It is not just Kabir who is losing Piya to Abhay…. More than that , it's Piya who is losing herself to Abhay….
Ironic. Isn't it? Piya thinks that Abhay is heartless and Abhay left his heart long ago with Maithli.
The worst part is that when Abhay loved Maithli , he gave away a lot… gave away so much that now , he feels he has nothing to give. I have no idea how Abhay will fall in love with Piya. Maithli is still written all over him….
