Girls' Room

She looked at her wrist watch ' it was 9am now. She paced around thr room , locking and unlocking her fingers in anxiety and restlessness. Should I go and interrupt? Or at least see what is he upto? What if he hurts her? No, he may not do anything to her. He had looked so worried and concerned when Piya had just crashed and scattered into his arms. He had appeared so protective , so fatherly in a way and those grey eyes ' the eyes of a predator , a wild mythical animal seemed to melt with concern. No. No matter what a monster Misha had dealt with last night , the man she just saw in the hall comforting and promising Piya was not capable of harming Piya at least , or was he? But then, she could not get the images of Sambhav unleashing his teeth , his immense physical strength and devilry on her last night. The wounds , the pain was gone but the horror and the terror had seeped into her brains , her heart and ever fiber of her existence. Sighing , Misha sat down by the window , looking out at the village at a distance with her almond eyes. Yes , she was terrified of Sambhav , terrified of what was happening around her and what could happen. The world was, perhaps not such a normal place after all ' maybe , we all actually co-existed with the so-called-mythical and the supernatural. Right now , there were just two things running in her head ' how was she going to deal with Sambhav and how was she going to handle Abhay-Piya with their truths and awaiting horrors. But was she ready to face Sam? Misha had come scurrying to the room within minutes of seeing Sambhav again . She had sent Tracker to the village with the caretaker so that their papers are submitted at the administration office. And here she was, all alone- cooped up in this room while Sambhav dealt with Piya downstairs. Only Misha knew her own secret. She was NOT ready to face Sam. Not until her nerves stopped shivering.

Just then, there was loud rap on the door and Misha woke up from her long deep thoughts. Misha gulped as she looked at the door. Who could it be? T and Tracker were in the village with the caretaker. Piya was in no condition to go around knocking doors ' the kind of state that she was in, she could break down all the doors to catch hold of Abhay for sure!....Oh damn! What if Sambhav has done something to Piya? You can't predict a werewolf's moods! Is it Piya? Misha's own terror of Sambhav hiding behind her fears for Piya. Misha jumps to her feet and goes running to open the door.

Misha ( opening the door with a swing)- Piya! Did he do something to '..

Misha's words die in her mouth because the one standing in front of her is not Piya. It's him. Tall, broad , rock solid and with the eyes of an animal ' Sambhav. He looks at her , slightly taken aback by the horror that he sees her in her eyes.

Misha ( immediately steps back )- Sambhav'..

Sambhav takes a few steps inside and he can see that everytime he takes a step forward, Misha takes her steps backwards. He sees her body tense up , her fingers clutching on the sides of her shorts , her forehead creasing and fear rising in her eyes. Sambhav holds up his hands and conveys to her that she need not het scared. He is not coming any closer. He leans on the wall and Misha settles on the bed meters away from him , clearly shivering but putting a brave front.

Sambhav ( calmly )- Piya is asleep. She has fallen asleep with great difficulty. And I'. ( eyes going to Misha's tense finger again and again)'.i am going. Going to get Abhay back in here. He is'. ( he feels he is talking to a wall because he can feel it that Misha wants him to just disappear )' he is being' stupid.

Misha (looks up at this) - How do you know where Abhay is? '.( scared and suspicious )' what'. What are you going to do Sam?

Sambhav (quizzically)- I am going to get Abhay back. What else?

Misha ( her defiance slowly rising )- And you expect me to believe you? You? An animal? A ferocious werewolf who almost crushed me to powder last night, YOU are going to find Abhay and bring him back to Piya and us? '( surprised at her own flare of courage )'..Are you serious?

Sambhav feels stung at Misha's words and the events of last night run in his head , making his jaw tighten. An animal. That is all Misha thought he was? That all he could do was unleash blood , gore and destruction? That he'. He was incapable of having any concern , any real concern for anyone.

Sambhav ( simmering slowly )- I am serious. I don't care what you think about me, Misha. At first , I thought I should come and say sorry ' sorry about what I did and what I could have done to you last night , you know. But now, when I look at you'. Looking at me with terror and disgust in your eyes,'( shrugs his shoulders )'I remember that it's YOU who came sniffing into my territory. You wanted to know whether am a werewolf or not. I just proved it to you.

Misha ( gets up angrily )- By trying to' sorry!.... By killing me?

Sambhav ( rolls his eyes )- Not my problem. You came in my way at the wrong time, Misha. You stood in front of me when the wolf in me had taken over me. You are lucky that Abhay let that blood still run in your veins so that you can stand in front of me and talk to me like that.

Misha ( disgusted )- I have to keep pinching myself to believe that am actually talking to a lycanthrope with some twisted genes.

Sambhav ( walking towards her )- You are being judgmental , Misha. I did not choose to be who I am. And being a werewolf doesn't mean I am devil's second cousin. It is a supernatural condition that has happened with me. It just shapes the person that I am but doesn't decide who I am.

Misha ( backing away to a wall )- It does! You are a monster and nothing else! And' and why are you coming towards me? STAY AWAY! JUST STAY AWAY FROM ME!

Sambhav ( closing in on her )- I am coming towards you to let you know that when not affected by the lycanthrope in me ' I.AM.A.NORMAL.GUY. You need to stop being scared of me. You can't keep running , screaming and howling everytime you see me!

Misha ( screams covering her face )- No, no, no! LAY OFF!

Sambhav catches hold of her by her waist and covers her mouth to muffle her screams.

Sambhav ( hisses into her terrified face)- Shut up! You'll wake up Piya! Ssshhhhhhhhhhh'.Quiet! Absolutely quiet.

Once sure that Misha will not scream again, Sambhav removes his hand from her mouth and she seems to have frozen like a doll , blinking her horrified eyes into Sambhav's big grey eyes.

Sambhav ( whispers)- Look at me. And listen to me . Very carefully. Think what you want to think . I am an animal, a monster , or whatever. Right now, the point is that we need to get Piya back on track and Abhay back here ! And I am the only one who knows where he is. All I came to say is- Be With Piya until I am back. Understand?

He punches the wall next to Misha in anger and Misha is too numb to scream now.

Sambhav ( releasing her )- So, you have no option except trusting this animal! UNDERSTAND?

Saying this , he pushes her aside and goes out. And even before Misha can catch her breath, he meanly turns around at the door and grins at her.

Sambhav ( glaring at her )- Talking of monsters, I wonder what you will have to say about your darling Abhay when you see him with fangs , dilated pupils and parched skin!

Misha looks at Sambhav in shock as Sambhav slams the door and goes out like a swish of angry wind. The word 'MONSTER' and Misha's angry and disgusted face making his blood boil and something inside him break.

Hall area, Guesthouse, Irugarh.

Piya is fast asleep on the couch in the hall, curled up under a sheet , her face showing through and the pained expression was still glimmering on her sleeping face. Sambhav had to use hypnosis to put her to sleep because she was actually expecting some kind of magic from him that he would just pluck Abhay off some tree and put him in her arms. As Piya slept, she suddenly heard a familiar voice call her name. Softly, tenderly but strongly in his signature masculine tone'..Piya'.Piya? Can you hear me, Piya? It's me. Piya'..wake up. Look at me.

Piya slowly opens her eyes. She finds herself in a dark room , lying on a white bed , covered in a feather blanket and propped up with white silk pillows. She gets up , rubbing her eyes and looks around.

Piya ( confused )- Where'. Where am I? This is not' not the guesthouse. How did I come here?

Just then, a slight flickers on the other end of the room. And as the lamp lights up , it illuminates the profile of a man.Sitting on an armchair , rocking it slowly , his chin resting on his knuckles and those ice blue eyes looking at her across the room. Abhay appeared as though he had been watching her sleep forever. Piya looks at him in disbelief and blinks her eyes as his name slowly escapes her lips.

Piya (eyes fixed on Abhay's face like a block of ice) - Abhay''.

Abhay gets up from the chair and walks over to her. Piya is still in a trance and she cannot believe that Abhay himself came back to her. Abhay comes and sits next to her.Piya, lifts her hands slowly to his face , and tears rushing like crashing waves into her eyes, she fingers his face with her warm fingers ' making sure that he was right there , next to her and he was real. Abhay smiles at her, a tad sadly and gently sweeps her curly hair off her face with his hands ' his kind hands.

Abhay (a stricken face) - What is wrong with you, Piya? Stop crying. Stop waiting for me like this. And stop grieving. What have you done to yourself? Take a look at you. Everytime you shed a tear, I feel a lurch in my heart' no matter how dead it is.

Piya (looks at his face while clinging to him like a child) - Where did you go, Abhay? '.( holds his face)'..Just getting up and walking away? I don't know what I did after I last saw you. I only remember waiting!.....( her face breaking into tears )'.when you walked out , I felt my soul walk out of my body. '( hugs him)'. Don't do that ever again, Abhay! Don't ever walk out again. I love you and you know that I will always love you.

Abhay looks at Piya's face and tears well up in his eyes. He gulps on his own emotions and putting his hand on Piya's head gently- he keeps her head on his shoulder and caresses her hair. He keeps his head on her head by tilting and keeps her secure in his arms. There is a faraway look in Abhay's eyes.

Abhay ( looking pensive and saturated)- I had to go, Piya and as we walk into the future , I will have to just get up and walk out of your life one day. When I told you that I love you, I meant it and I always will ' but'. But I could not handle it. I cannot handle it'.( puts his lips to Piya's hair and closes his eyes)'.no matter how hard I try , I cannot fight the fear of having history repeating itself''I am so scared, Piya 'of what could happen and what I could do to you'.I am sorry , Piya. I am sorry that I could not stop you from falling in love with me'. I am sorry that I fell in love with you and I hate myself for that.

Piya is shocked and pained by Abhay's inner demons and she looks up at him. She looks through him , into his dead soul with her big baby brown eyes and shakes her head.

Piya ( holding his face and making him look into her eyes )- No! Don't say that , Abhay!..Wh-What are you' I mean , where did all this guilt and remorse come from? It is MY CHOICE , MY DECISION, that I LOVE you! Against all reason, all sanity and logic , I love you! Look at me!...(chins him up)'. Do I look scared to you? Do I look sorry to you? I DON'T!....Abhay , you didn't make me fall in love with you! You did nothing. It happened! '.And ' and I am not going to leave you! EVER! Whatever the definition of forever maybe.

Abhay ( shakes his head )- I don't know. I have no faith 'I never had any. In anything. In anyone. It is long gone, Piya. I love you , I really do. You make me think of'.( a small smile spreads across his face)' of summer fields, of flowers , meadows and ' ( looks at Piya )'.. and all that dreams are made of. But I have a lived a good 200+ years, Piya. I know the difference between what is real and what is not. Even if I take this ' ( thinks)'. This leap of faith , I am pulling you into the shadows forever with me. I am taking away your normal human life where you can study , make a career , find a nice guy , marry , have children and die a happy old woman'. Don't you understand ? I am going to take away every single chance of happiness that you will ever have?

Piya looks at Abahy's crushed face and his eyes that are saying nothing but her name. Overcome with emotion, Piya just lightly kisses him on his lips.

Piya ( smiling )- I don't know and I don't care what the future is bringing. I don't know how sad or how I happy I am going to be with you. I have no idea if amidst all this blood, gore and fight of good and evil, I will even live long enough to see your face everyday'.. but there is one thing that I know'..without you in my life , there is no tomorrow and there is no another breath.

Abhay keeps looking at her , too overwhelmed to say anything and she puts his arms around him , embracing him and putting her cheek on his shoulder.

Piya ( closing her eyes )- It is written in the stars'..

Abhay ( rocking her to sleep in his arms with sadness written large in his eyes)- Go back to sleep, Piya''.

Living Room, Sambhav's House.

With Sambhav gone and the werewolves least bit interested in putting up with her attitude and tantrums, Maithli was surely having a ball at the huge estate of the chief werewolf. Sambhav had no choice but to keep Maithli with him. He had brought her back to life and she was his future weapon. It didn't matter what he felt for Maithli, Sam just had to protect , shelter and well, keep a watch on this unpredictable obsessed witch bitch. So, back after her naughtiness with Abhay-Piya and getting thrashed by Abhay , Maithli was just having this me-time in Sambhav's house. Dressed in red shorts and a "I am the next disaster" T-shirt, her silky black hair tied up in a ponytail , Maithli was watching TV in the hall, her legs resting on the glass table and a bowl of potato wafers in her hands.

Maithli (yawns) - Dayumn! What kinda soaps these people make these days? People just keep getting married, having babies and getting divorced? And how many marriages and divorces?......let me catch up on Star World instead. If I see that Laali of "Agle Janam '" cry once more , Sambhav may need a new home theatre system.

Just then, the doorbell rings and Maithli looks at the door.

Maithli( puzzled)- Visitor? Humph. I told the guard not to let anyone in 'coz the wolfie and his gang are not here!.... ( rolls her eyes )'. Whatever! I can scare anyone off'.( looks at the door)' sorry, too bored and lazy to get up, visitor!

Maithli narrows her eyes at the bolt and the door unlatches , swinging open. Maithli is shocked to see who the visitor is as the tall , statuesque , brown skinned and cat-eyed woman walks in'.

Maithli ( getting up in utter disbelief )- Natasha'..

Natasha ( closing the door behind her )- Hello, bitchy witchy! Surprised?

Maithli tosses the potato wafers aside and glares at Natasha.

Maithli ( crossing her arms across her chest )- It's not Halloween yet and I don't see this pleasant visit at all! What are you doing here, anyway? Aren't you supposed to be with Anushka and the humans in Marwaa?

Natasha smiles and sits down on a couch, muting the television with a remote.

Natasha ( winks )-Yeah, a witch and a vampire's meeting can never be pleasant, especially if a Bolshva comes knocking at your door'.( laughs )' sit, sit. I am not here to stay, babelicious. I am here only for a short visit but a very important visit.

Maithli ( sits back but is alert )- Important visit? Listen, am not going to do anything for you Bolshies' ( dangerously )' definitely nothing against Abhay , understand?

Natasha ( looks into her eyes)- And what if it is for Abhay?

Maithli ( stunned )-What?

Natasha ( wickedly )- What if I tell you that you can get Piya out of Abhay's life'.( clicks her fingers )' like this?

Maithli ( excited )- Aha, now you are talking! TELL ME!

Natasha's face sparkles with an evil grin'.
