In the woods…..

Abhay gets up from the rock with a start as he opens his eyes, clutching Maithli's locket even tighter in his hands.

Abhay ( terrified )- Piya! I saw Piya?... ( gets jittery )…No! How can this be? I am thinking about Maithli….where did…Piya come from?

Just then, Abhay feels a hand on his shoulder and he turns around. He is shocked to see a furious and emotionally wrought Piya staring at him. Abhay is so taken aback by her vision that he takes a few steps back … his lovely cognac eyes wide in shock…the locket drops from his hands.

Abhay ( barely finding his voice )- Piya….

Piya ( furiously )- We need to talk, Abhay…NOW.

Abhay ( shaking his head)- We cannot… I am in no state to talk, Piya.. ( holds his head)… just go away! Get out of my sight! Get out of my life!.. You are messing everything in my head!

Piya ( takes a few steps closer to him)- I am messing everything in your head? … ( holds him by his shoulders )… I am messing everything in your head or are you messing everything in my head , my heart , my life!... ( shakes him).. what did you do with me at Pancchi's house?

Abhay looks at her charged face , flaming cheeks and angry eyes and he understands that she knows . She knows that he kissed her.

Abhay ( to himself)- Sam! You are as dead as you can imagine! ….

Abhay ( looking away )- Go back to the hostel, Piya! I didn't do anything with you… Sam has just muddled up your head or else you are drunk!

Piya turns Abhay's face to herself and looks up at him so intensely that Abhay just has to look into her eyes.

Piya ( angrier)- How did you know that I went to Sam? And you know that am not drunk! I know that you kissed me… ( in tears)… why did you do that, Abhay? You have to tell me or else I am going to lose my head!

Abhay looks at Piya and his face softens … and just then , he hears Maithli's voice in his ears…

Maithli ( in a very sad voice )- She is just my face, Abhay. You are seeing me in her… You love only me. Haven't you loved me all your life and beyond?

Abhay ( screams)- Yes, I kissed you, Piya! So what?... (pulls her closer and has his face within inches of hers )… tell me, so what? What do you think I would do with a girl who is piling herself on me? I did to you what I do to all the women!... ( wicked grin)… it was fun while it lasted.

Piya can see that his blood shot eyes are giving him away and he doesn't mean what he is saying. Something is massively wrong with him.

Piya ( looking at Abhay intently)- These harsh words change nothing, Abhay. I know what we have between us… I don't know who you are or for that matter what you are… but what we have between us is real!

Abhay is shaken by what she has to say and what he himself is suffering inside. He just shuts his eyes and shakes his head. He takes Piya's face in his hands and kisses her softly on her lips and fingers her face tenderly with his kind hands. Piya just looks at him , as though held in a trance.

Abhay ( kindly)- I don't know who you are, Piya….I don't know why we are in this situation. But whatever we had between us was special and I will always remember it. However, you cannot love me – you must not. There is nothing that I have to give you … nothing at all… ( holds her hands )… I belong to someone else… someone who has waited for me for ages…..forget me, Piya. You and I are impossible. And I… ( stepping back into the darkness)…. Forbid you from loving me….and no, you will not forget what happened between us here….it's over Piya….

Piya ( running to him)- Abhay , listen to me!.... ( but he is gone)… ABHAY!

Piya looks around but there is no sign of Abhay and Piya draws back in despair. " I belong to someone else… someone who has waited for me for ages" … the words echo in Piya's head as she comes on her knees and bursts into tears , putting her hands on the ground and crying.

Piya ( crying)- I wish Abhay… I wish that these feelings were as impossible as my chances of ever having you….( sobs )… I wish my heart just stopped right now!

Suddenly, Piya feels something under her hand . She looks down and sees an antique locket in the soil and she picks it up. Her eyes go wide in recognition….

Piya ( holding the locket in her hand )- Abhay…

Flash : Abhay holding the locket close to his heart when she came to the woods to confront him.

Piya wipes her tears and she slowly opens the locket … and as the handcrafted lid is lifted , she looks at the picture inside the locket – her own face – beautiful, smiling but a little different. Piya is stunned. It's her face!

Piya ( in disbelief)- Abhay…. Abhay loves me?

And behind her , Sambhav – his eyes glowing like those of a wolf is watching her with a dark grin on his face.

In a dark cave….

In some other part of the woods , in a dark cave , Anushka… clad in flowing black robes , is sitting in the center of a circle marked with candles. Maithli's dress is lying at her feet in a triangle of skulls. Anushka enters the triangle and looks at the garment lying at her feet.

Flash : Abhay telling and threatening Anushka that if she doesn't find Maithli's body , he will kill her.

Anushka takes a deep breath and several men, covered and shrouded in hooded black robes surround her. They all hold hands and hum some chants that seem to echo through the cave. Anushka puts her delicate fair feet on the dress and pulls out a twisted demon faced dagger from the interiors of her robes.

She holds out her wrist and puts the sharp side of the dagger on her wrist.

Anushka ( to the men around her )- No matter what happens to me, the contact should not break… we have to find her…

The men nod to her command….

Anushka ( closing her eyes and slitting her wrist )- Come to me… Maithli…

As soon as Anushka's blood drops on the dress, Anushka collapses and we go inside her head…

Inside Anushka's mind : Anushka sees herself falling deep-deep into a well …her body is falling into a dark space ….she sees herself running through some locked rusted gates that are opening for her….and she stops at a crypt like space … Anushka enters the crypt and opens the stone tomb… and there, Maithli opens her eyes and smiling , stretches out her arms. Anushka screams and runs and finds herself getting out of the well and sees a huge mansion with a man wearing a black overcoat standing at one of the dimly lit windows…..

Anushka opens her eyes with a scream and the dagger drops from her hands as the dress that she fell on catches fire. Just then, Haseena comes running in and breaking the contact chain , she rescues Anushka by pulling her away from the dress that turns to ashes in no time…..

Haseena ( frantically trying to wake Anushka )- Anushka!... Anushka, open your eyes!

Anushka doesn't open her eyes and a stream of blood flows down her nose…..

Haseena ( terrified )- Anushka……( to the men around )… get the chamber ready, you fools!

In a dark chamber in the cave in the woods:

Anushka is lying on a bed , carefully cushioned in silk sheets and pillows. She looks very pale and almost hollow cheeked. Haseena is holding her hand , keeping her other hand on her cut wrist . She has her eyes closed and is mumbling something. Chaand is standing a little distance away with the hooded men and is looking at an unconscious Anushka with a straight face ' there is no worry and no anguish on his face.

Suddenly, Haseena opens her eyes and looks down at Anushka's wounds- they begin to heal . Blood returns to Anushka's skin and she slowly opens her eyes. As her hazy vision settles, she sees Chaand, Haseena and other vampires standing around her.

Chaand ( smiles )- You are alive, Anushka' we almost thought that Maithli's ghost ate you up.

Haseena ( helping her sit up)- You do feel alright now, don't you'( feels her veins)'hmm'your pulse is returning to normal'( pats her head lovingly)'so, did you find Maithli?

Anushka recalls what she had seen in the trance and then, debates whether to tell the Raichands or not. She bites her lower lip and then, shakes her head.

Anushka ( not meeting their eyes and wiping blood from her nose)- No'I think I will have to try again'.my energies couldn't stand the strain.

They all exchange glances and then, nod at Anushka.

Haseena ( getting up)- It's alright, Anushka' you need some rest now'.( stops in her tracks)' but Maithli's dress is burnt'.how will you contact her now?

Anushka (hastily)- I am a witch , Haseena aunty and so was Maithli. I will find a way for sure.

Chaand ( looking at her rather suspiciously )- Come back to the town' the mansion when you have fully recovered. I am leaving these men behind to look after you and I have informed Abhay.. he will come and see you anytime now'.

Anushka gives him a weak smile and nods, again wiping the blood from her nostrils.

Haseena and Chaand leave and Anushka beckons the men to leave her alone. As soon as she is left alone in the chamber , Anushka lets out a sigh of shock, putting her hands on her mouth to reconcile herself with what she has just found.

Anushka ( running a disturbed hand through her gorgeous brown hair)- UNBELIEVABLE.

Just then, a voice rings in from a corner of the cave.

Voice ( bellows )- I have been waiting to hear that.

Anushka looks behind and striking a matchstick on a fat white candle is Abhay. Sitting on a stone square and his face illuminated in the flame that he has just caused.Anushka looks at him in shock and Abhay looks at her frail and sickly appearance.

Anushka ( not surprised )- Abhay'

Abhay gets up from there and walks upto her. He sits on the bed with her . He looks at Anushka's face and his face seems to soften.

Abhay ( kindly)- You broke my trust , Anushka'.you know exactly what I think of my Mom and Dad. But even though we are incapable of having family ties ' and just live like clans for survival, you know how I have always felt about you'..( looks at her healing wrist )'.you betrayed me.

Anushka ( shaking her head )- No, Abhay . I protected you and your sanity for over a 100 years. You are going to hate me for saying this but if it was possible, I wouldn't have found Maithli for you ' ever.

Abhay ( curtly )- Well, then. I guess mine and Maithli's love was stronger than your resolve'. ( wipes the blood on her nose and keeping his finger below her nostril heals it and the bleeding stops)'.where is she? I know you lied to my parents and they can never tell because vampires cannot read the minds of witches and werewolves.

Anushka ( smiles )- Then, how do you know that I found her?

Abhay ( looks at her rather sharply)- Firstly, because you are the most powerful witch of your society . You can never ever fail '..i just know it. And secondly , it was about me. Even though you betrayed me for whatever stupid reason, I know the lengths that you can go to when it comes to me. '.this ritual almost killed you'.

Anushka looks at Abhay with a pensive face and then, nods.

Anushka ( getting matter-of-fact)- Abhay , the werewolves have locked Maithli's body on your own property.

Abhay is stunned to hear that and reacts immediately.

Abhay ( in disbelief )- WHAT? 'A-ARE YOU SURE?

Anushka ( nods)- Yes' Maithli took me to some underground barrack kind of a place '.they looked like hidden cells'and there is an old crypt there. It opens back to the ground in form of a well.. and the huge Raichand mansion can be seen from there.

Abhay ( still gathering his guts)- Are you sure that it's the Raichand Mansion? 'the visuals are pretty flighty in a psychological journey!

Anushka ( holding Abhay by his shoulders and looking into his eyes )- Abhay , it was your house and I saw you in a window!....Maithli's body is lying in the kind of area that I described on your 100s and 100s acres of property!....She has been with you ever since you came back to Dehradun and the werewolves hid her there because you wouldn't hunt for her body on your own property.

Abhay is shocked to hear all this and looks very disturbed'.

Abhay ( getting a hang of himself )- I must find her now! I know where to look for her!

Anushka stops him by holding his arm and makes him sit back.

Anushka ( strongly)- NO! You cannot enter the crypt without the witch's cross, Abhay! If Maithli's crypt has been charmed by the werewolves, you are in danger.

Abhay ( firmly)- In that case, I know where the witch's cross is' Dobriyaal House.

In the hostel:

Piya is lying in her bed , looking up at the ceiling and the locket in her hands , the delicate gold chain entwined around her fingers and the locket firmly clutched in her hands.

Piya ( puzzled)- What is Abhay upto? He said that he cannot love me , I am forbidden to love him and that he has someone in his life whom he loves'. Then,.. ( clicks open the locket again and looks at her reflection)'.what is my picture doing so close to his heart? And where did he get this photograph from? Did I get myself clicked in the green dress that Haseena aunty gave me ?.....

As she looks at the picture again, a small smile plays on her lips and her eyes brighten up'

Piya ( like a happy little kid)- Maybe he does love me ! Something is stopping him, restraining him, but he loves me'..why else would he protect me everytime? He gave up his defences and he kissed me'.( looks at herself in the mirror)'.he loves me! Tomorrow is the Romeo-Juliet play and Abhay will have to tell me '( looks at the locket)'whether he loves me or not'(her smile disappears)' what are you doing, Piya? You are supposed to be Kabir's!

Just then, Maya comes out of the washroom and her gaze falls on the Victorian locket in Piya's hands . Her eyes go wide in shock and the towel drops from her hands'.

Maya ( rushing over to her)- Piya! What' what is that in your hands?

Piya immediately hides it behind her back possessively and gives Maya a sharp look.

Piya ( tersely )- I don't think am interested in telling you anything, Maya'.and I don't talk to self sympathetic sissies who go and join hands with demons who have ruined their lives!...i saw you with Danish and I don't know what spell he has cast on you.

Piya goes out of the room in a huff and Maya sits down in shock.

Maya ( horrified )- How the hell did she get her hands on Maithli's picture! And she thinks it's hers?....She is going to confront Abhay about this' then what!....( looks at the door from where Piya just went)'.am sorry, Piya. But I have to do what the Raichands say. Danish has been set free and' this baby is not mine anymore'.the baby , a half human and a half warlock will be a part of Chaand and Haseena's designs'( shakes her head)'.I have to tell Abhay that Piya has got her hands on his most prized possession!

Maya immediately reaches out for her cellphone. But a square masculine hand stops her . Shocked, she looks up and sees a smiling Sambhav winking at her as he makes himself comfortable next to her'

Maya ( stunned)- Sambhav!

Sam ( putting her hair strands behind her ear)- Hello, mommy-to-be-witchy-diddly-do!
