Abhay is too dense and complicated to understand or comprehend. You cannot look at what is inside because he lives behind walls and no voice of warmth reaches there. So, honestly, you never know what is going on inside his head or why he does what he does . Feelings? Errm. His heart is not allowed to feel, remember?
It is not a shock that Abhay tried to get Pia expelled - surprise , yes. Abhay wants Pia out of his life - away from the continual threat of falling in love with her and her falling in love with him. He wants her to just disappear into a crowd where she will never be in his sight ...where she will never make rthe mistake of falling for the forbidden fruit. Maybe , just maybe , the burning hell of loving Abhay and stepping into the shadows with him is much worse than being expelled from this college. Maybe he is choosing her life over her immediate future.
Abhay is dark. Not evil. He can never even dream of hurting Piya and he does nothing for fun's sake nor does he seem to have an evil bent of mind. I mean you don't expect your saviour to put you under the sword. If Abhay has done what he has done , there has to be a reason and we should know it sooner or later. If we go by the promos of the soap , for starters , they have always shown Piya taking steps towards Abhay and Abhay always backing away and warning her that he is THE FORBIDDEN. So, does Abhay already know the future? Does he already know that Piya is not just a familiar face but has her journey to his heart designed already?
Infact , i had this smile of irony on my face when Piya, Misha and Kabir were raging and ranting about how evil Abhay is to Piya.........everybody thinks he is stone cold but none of them saw Abhay take Piya safely out of the jungle - the woods where anything could have happened to her. The guy really doesn't believe in showing his good side. Does he? But maybe that is why we love him.... He. Doesn't. Give. A. Damn.
Oh, BTW. Creatives, Abhay is supposed to know already that his Pia has not been expelled. He reads mind and he knows what is coming as per the portrayal you have given him.
P.S- Abhay's " Yaheen junglee bhediyon ke beech chhod dunga." was very un-Abhay and sounded rather cute. 😆
