I wish there were scenes of Sita bai and MR.

But its fault of makers, if they had shown MR caring towards his daughter, his fondness for ahilya will make more sense.

Well, in the above post I too didn't mean to compare. What I meant is although Malharrao was advanced from his times, but still he was born in a time where majority of people didn't give much thoughts about women's rights. He groomed Ahilya because he saw a spark in her, in the same way if he had seen a spark in his daughters probably he would have groomed them as well. But separately thinking or dreaming about his daughter's future from her birth whether she's capable or not, like he's doing for khanderao, was probably not the norm of the society in those times. Most people in those times had only one wish, that's to marry off their daughters to good households.

Saying that I also want to say we don't have much info about his relationship with Sitabai. It could be possible that he had dreamt about the future of Sitabai, and it's another wrong portrayal of relationships done by the creatives.

That’s because his daughter herself seems to show no interest in these things. It’s not like he decided Ahilya has to be educated by himself. She was desirous of it. She expressed an interest and he found out.

Though she was already taught how to read and write fluently by the age of 8. Her dad teaches her. Malhar apparently had nothing to do with it. The makers of the show have taken their creative liberties here. Which is okay.

yes its due to the inconsistency between real life and show that's causing all this confusion. I feel like MR would have tried to empower sita herself in real life but it was not shown.

I think he was born sickly. Like with some genetic condition? And so he was always described as weak.

Ya, he was the “ruler” for a brief while. As there was no other heir. Then he died young. I think the Peshwa had to be appealed to let a woman take the throne and that’s when Ahilya ascended the throne. And she passed it on to Tukoji later (who was adopted by Malhar Rao).

yes...

actually, certain excerpts, i was reading about said that gangoba formed an alliance with Raghunathrao ...so ahilya was ready for war and made a pact with raghunathrao regarding the ruling process and how he would face defamation if he lost to ahilya thus he contemplated on this decision before giving the permission...she already had the support from malwa but certain people were against this situation at the time...
