I love how she goes JKR and then calms down and come back to apologise but he keeps being an idiot because he wants to preserve feelings he has for ghost where he has the opportunity have a real woman that loves him right at hand. His irrational thinking kept them apart far longer than they had too.

Her confession had the affect that she expected and also not. She thought he was going to be angry, and punish her but not for the reason she had thought. He was angry, yes but because he was possessive over her and he made her his in no uncertain terms. The poor woman could hardly walk the next and she still had to do her motherly chores. 😆 🤢
I never liked that she had to have Arpita's hand me downs but in this instance he made it her own, for him it took on a new "identity" which was hers and only hers.
