Passionate combatants
The rain was pelting outside. But it was nothing like the storm that was raging inside this room. She could not believe it. This situation was worse than anything she could ever have imagined. They were in his office and she was standing looking out over the city. She was still only dressed in only her shirt. She was totally humiliated at what she had just done. She couldn't face the disgust and hatred in his eyes.
Once he was dressed, he reached for his wallet, took out his cheque book and wrote out the amount that she had asked him for, half a million pounds and threw it at her. It trickled down to the floor next to where she stood.
"You have what you want now. I must say you are good, very good. No one before you got me to pay for ... it. I totally fell for your innocent act. I wonder how you are going to get the next sucker."
She felt him walk towards her. She didn't know what to expect. She stood rooted to the spot. She was scared of him now. The rage inside of him was almost tangible. He whispered through clenched teeth, "Make sure that I never see you again."
She mustered to courage to turn around and said, "Please Yash if you will only let me explain. I love you"
He laughed humourlessly. "How stupid do you think I am? Do you think that I will believe any more of your lies? You are nothing more than a high class wh**e."
He slammed the door as he left her life forever. She sank on the floor and sobbed. She had just lost the love her life.
She woke up, tears streaming down her face. It has been a while since she'd had that dream. She wished that it was only a dream and not her reality. She looked at her little baby girl and her heart constricted with love. She was the image of her father. He had given her much more than that money. I have you and I have your granny and gramps. Four years later, she still could not forget him or stop loving him. The price she paid was worth it. She was back in India now, so she would probably never see him again, just like he wanted. She was content with her life now. But 4 years ago it was definitely not where she had envisioned herself, she thought, wryly.

Aarti Khurana was a confident, beautiful young lady. Her parents never had much money but they had so much love. For her and for each other. Shortly after Aarti was born, her father was in a motor vehicle accident and was incapable of working. Her mother started to make clothes to sell, to supplement the government disability pension her father received. Aarti was not home often, because she was at boarding school for most of her school career. She was extremely clever and always managed to get scholarships to the best private schools and the same for the college that she had attended.
She started an internship at Scindiya industries office in London. Because of her drive and ingenuity she was put on a FastTrack management programme after just a year. She spent long hours at the office because she simply loved her job. She also felt great being able to help her parents by sending money back to India. Aarti was a real romantic and believed in happily ever after because of the love her parents shared. The problem, however was that her parents were putting pressure on her to get married right now and she was not ready. She had managed to put them off so far but it was increasingly difficult. She could not say no them. That is why she had agreed to meet this guy tonight. She did not know much about him, she was merely e-mailed a picture of him and told her was a 28 year old business analyst and was settled in London for the past 5 years. His name was Amaan Khanna. She was I no mood for this as she had a new project and wanted to work on it some more tonight. That was one of her quirks. When she started something she was interested in, she could not stop till she completed it. She was a bit resentful that she had to go on date when she had something better to do. Oh crap, she was late. She grabbed her laptop and file and ran out of the office.
She practically ran out into the restaurant, quickly looking down at her clothes to check if she still looks ok. She knocked into something hard and the file fell out of her hand. "Sorry, sorry, so sorry" she said.
She immediately started to pick up her papers without even looking up. The rock that she ran into bent to help her pick up the papers scattered on the floor.
He saw the company logo on some of the papers and said, "Why are you bringing work files to a restaurant? If you are behind with the work you should be at work and not a restaurant. And you should look where are going."
Her head shot up and there was fire in her eyes. "Excuse me. What are you? The restaurant police. And what makes you think that I my behind with my work. Anyway I would rather be at the office right now instead of being at a restaurant, speaking to a brute like you." She walked off and gave a parting shot, "And besides, you bumped into me too, why don't you look where you are going."
Yash was still standing at her retreating back. He was not sure, if he should be mad or amused. No one ever spoke to him like that. He was intrigued by this girl. At least he knew where she worked. He saw that she was joining a young man that was about his age.
At 28 years of age, Yash Scindiya was the director at Scindiya industries. He worked hard and he played hard. His parents had sent him to run the London office as he was building up quite a reputation for himself in India. Not a good one. He preferred being here anyway because it was less constricted here. He was a very cynical man and he used women for his pleasure. He never had to work to get them, because they were all over him all of the time. He was independently wealthy, extremely handsome and had a hot body. From a young age he was groomed to take over the family business although he was the 2nd eldest. His father knew that his eldest brother did not have the ability to run the company as Yash would. And Yash proved this once again by making the London branch a great success in no time at all.
He knew it was expected of him to get married, but he really had no interest in it. All the women that he had experienced were only into his money or his looks. And all he was interested in were their bodies. However, he was very careful that there was no chance that they could get pregnant, he was not going to get tied down by a woman because of a child and he will not be extorted either.
So this experience at the restaurant with this woman, who was apparently one of his employees was completely foreign to him. He was pondering whether he should pursue this feeling. And who was this guy that she was meeting anyway. Yash was now really looking forward to going to the office tomorrow to find out more about this mystery girl.
