Chapter 9
The journey from Indore to Bhopal was long and tiresome Aarti wanted to sleep yet she was both too excited, and nervous to do so; she had dream about this day far to long that every time she was passed over for another child poor girl had lost all hope of this day ever arriving; now that the big day has arrive she did not want to miss a single moment; a new home with her family; yes they are all still strangers but she was accepting her changes, and learning to like the very bubble high-spirited family.
On the drive to the Sharma's mansion Aarti felt her eyes drooping with sleep so she rubbed them vivacity in an attempt to wipe away her sleep: she forced open her eyes looking at the passing landscape, the buildings, she saw schools, and parks wondering if she would attend any of these schools or play in that park then finally after what seemed like hours the car went through an iron gate and a short driveway to stop in front of a huge house with a massive wood door. " Aarti beta welcome to your new home." said papa at that moment the door was opened and a older couple came out followed by three staff members "Aarti beta they are your Dada and Dadi" said her mama "Namaste dada, dadi" said Aarti and went to touch their feet the older couple blessed her and dadi pulled her to her bosom and give her a warm hug " Hello my dear welcome to your new home " namaste beta welcome" said dada patting Aarti on her head then her cheeks. Aarti felt so much gladness from the simple gesture of acceptance by her new dada and dadi that she wanted to reach out and touch the sky out of sheer joy: her little cute face lighted up the night's sky this did not go unnoticed by the adults who all smile fondly at the little girl: they were all happy, and beaming with pride just by Aarti simple yet meaningful response to the love showed too her.
Mansi, and Aman followed by the parents greeted their parents, dadi did their arti and allowed them inside the mansion dadi said " first freshen up, have dinner then go and rest I know you children are excited to show your sister her home, and then tell your dada and I about your trip."
Mansi, and Aman took Aarti inside to their room " di that is bhaiya room" said Mansi pointing her right index finger towards a room painted light blue and white "our room is across from his continued an excited Mansi taking Aarti's hand and pulling her inside a room that was huge to Aarti who was accustom to a large room share with other children at the orphanage; inside were twin beds Mansi explained that each will have their own and since Aarti loves the outdoors her bed is the one close to the window while Mansi loves to sleep late so her bed is the one close to the door where the sunlight will not disturb her in the morning. Aarti stared at the bed with it's covering that looked so soft and inviting she looked around the room everything looked so beautiful, so clean, and neat she was afriad to touch anything, she was used to bunk beds, and cots at the orphanage with cotton sheets, during winter two kids will sleep together sharing a single blanket. This was heaven a beautiful dream, Mansi spoke " Di we will re decorate this room adding your choice of things after all this is our room now" she came forward and hug her Di "welcome to your room Aarti Di" Aarti hugged her back and smiled replied " Thanks Mansi Di."
" Girls! my girls hurry up dinner is ready< come now!" shouted mama from the doorway as the girls was lost in their conversation "O sorry mama said both" and dashed into the washroom holding hands "Now don't get lost in there" said their ma laughing.
The dinner was light, and short because everyone was dead tired and require sleep the men were returning to their office while the ladies to their daily routine, the kids had a week left for their holidays.
Scindhia Mansion
The family was so thrilled to be back home, the men felt such pride for them self they were successful in their trip; Aarti was safe in Bhopal with the Sharmas they will receive regular updates about her well being, the kids would met for social events hopefully they will become friends.
Gaytri and her MIL spoke with Maya hovering close by " bahu we will speak to the Sharmas and find out which temple they attend so we can arrange a meeting with the wives, and little bahu and get to know her likes and dislikes" said dadi " Ji ma I will call in the morning" replied G3 " Bahu no I think you should leave that to me" smiled dadi knowing that G3 may forget Maya was smirking to her self MBKK all this fuss over that orphan, why don't they fuss over me like that and find out what I want, anyhow I will surely accompany them to the temple after all I am only suppose to pray and think about god.
After dinner all went to their respective rooms Pankaj being almost twenty one had his own room, Yash and Prateek shared one large room with twin beds. Yash entered their room went straight to the washroom to shower and change into his night ware while G3 took Prateek to her room to get him ready for bed a sleepy baby Prateek said "ma Yash bhaiya likes that girl we met on the train" "which girl?" said G3 "You Knoe the girl from the orphanage who sat next to you for the pooja" innocently he continued now Suraj who was sitting on his favorite chair reading one of his English bestsellers inquired Beta do you mean Aarti?" "Ji papa" a sleep fill Prateek nodded his head in yes sign both parents looked at each other and shared a smile their innocent baby sold out his Yash bhayia secret. The parents said to each other even god wants their wish to come true "Beta how do you know" asked G3 " Yash bhayia told Pankaj bhayia and I; bhai drew a picture of her in his drawing book" continued a half asleep Prateek in his mother's lap.
Yash went on his bed and glimse at Prateek's bed his self thought I wish I had my own room. Suddenly he got up and went to his bookcase a found an empty journal ma had gifted this to him explaining that he is becoming a big boy almost a young man and he may have thoughts that he would be afriad to share with anyone therefore he should penned them in this journal; at that time Yash thought that was a girly thing to do real men don't do that; papa, and dadaji he was certain don't do that he never saw bhayia do that so why should he??? Now staring at the journal he thought ma knew what she was doing and went to sit by his desk to write. Writing came easily to him , he wrote his holiday especially about meeting Aarti at the orphanage, for the pooja at his home in Indore, the restaurant where she caught him looking at her, her big beautiful almond shaped eyes, her stare back at him, and on the train they spoke so it was only namaste, these are yours ,here you go, thank you, and you are welcome, but to a boy in his first crush this were precious gold. Yash self thought one day when we are adults I will ask her to marry me and I will show her my journal and when we become old like dadji and dadiji we will share with our grandchildren; wait Yash baba what are you thinking no! no! I am eleven years not a silly teenager stop it what will maa and bauji say if they find out! They may send me to boarding school with only boys! No! I mean yes I should hide this journal so Prateek cannot find it and accidentally show the adults if that happens it will be so embarrassing, and both bauji, and dadaji will scold me. After placing his precious journal safely hidden in his bookcase behind some large encyclopedia, a content Yash went to sleep to have beautiful dreams of his new friend Aarti.
