PART 1

It's been two weeks since Yash and Aarti had gotten back Aayu. Things were finally getting back to normal at home; however Yash seemed to still be distant, he was fine around the kids, but whenever he was alone with Aarti he would make excuses that he was tired and went straight to bed

before she came to the room, or sit with work till late and only go to bed long after Aarti had fallen asleep.

For Aarti this was strange, she knew that he knew everything, the truth
behind the kidnapping, but somehow she feels that he still thinks that part of it was due to her carelessness for leaving Aayu alone... she did not want to probe him and find out why, as she was afraid that this might have been the real reason.

Pratiek who had been closely watching the two noticed this pattern for a few days and decided to confront Yash about it. "bhaiya I've been noticing that these days you seem to be keeping your distance from bhabhi. Is everything ok between you two??" asked pratiek in a concerned voice. "haan chote,
nothing seems fine between us. We're together again yet at the same time it feels as if we're miles apart, and its all because of me. When I see Aartji I don't know how to look at her or even talk to her now, for when I look at her I get flashbacks of the horrible things that I've said and done to her over the past few months. I don't know how to start a conversation with her or act
normal around her." Said Yash.

Patiek thought for a moment and then answered "bhaiya, bhabhi loves you a lot , she has forgiven you long ago for everything that you've said and done. Just open up to her and tell her how you feel. You should really do it soon
bhaiya before some sort of misunderstanding crops up between you two again and bhabhi gets the impression that you're still upset with her for
whatever has happened."

This struck a chord with Yash, he realised that his behaviour could once
again bring up a lot of misunderstanding between Aarti and him; something which they did not need after finally being back in their safe heaven after so many months. Yash thanked Pratiek and made his way to his room, determined to talk to his pretty wife about why he's been acting so weirdly for the past few days.
When he got to their room, Aarti had already fallen asleep hugging his
pillow. He smiled and got into bed and snuggled closely to his wife after
months. "Sleep well my dear wife, I promise that from tomorrow everything will be back to normal", whispered Yash as he placed a light kiss on her forehead. Aarti stirred in her sleep and moved closer to him as she sensed
his warmth.

The next morning Aarti awoke to an empty bed. She assumed once again that Yash was avoiding her. She got ready and continued with her daily
chores. At around 4pm there was a parcel and a letter that was placed on
their bed when she entered their room. She picked up the letter and smiled as she read it...

"My dear Aarti
Will pick you up at 7:30.

Aaj ki shaam aapki naam :P

Love Yash"

She excitedly picked up the box and headed to get ready. She freshened up and got ready in the baby blue fitted salwar kameez with silver threading
teamed up with a net shawl that he had sent for her.

At exactly 7:30 the car was outside Scindiya mansion waiting for her, she made her way downstairs, careful not to bump into anyone, for she did not want a round of teasing. When she reached outside disappointment
engulfed her. He had sent the driver!!! Why couldn't he come himself thought Aarti as she pouted. She got into the car and exactly an hour later she
reached her destination. Before she could reach for the handle to open the
door, it was already opened for her. She looked up and her eyes met a pair of dashing eyes in return. Yash stood in front of her dressed in his dark blue jeans and a baby blue shirt matching her outfit. She smiled as he held his
hand out for her which she took. "Aartji you are looking simply stunning in
that outfit", said Yash. She blushed at his comment and held onto his hand even tighter. As they made their way into the resort she kept asking him the same question repeatedly; where are we of to???
He repeatedly gave her the same answer; patience my love...

He led her to a small table in the quiet restaurant. It's a late hour for dinner and most of the tables were empty. He pulls out her chair. She smiles at him as she sits. He sits across from her. The only light is from a few well placed
candles. A waiter approaches and, without saying a word, pours them wine and leaves the bottle. She looks at him suspiciously as he replies "come on Aartji it will help you to relax." He's ordered everything for them in advance. There will be no interruptions from the wait staff aside from bringing and
clearing of the courses...

He watches as she sips her wine. She notice and blushes. A shy smile slips
out. He loves watching her. A voyeur looking into a secret world. He smiles back warmly as if to comfort her. It does. She begins to enjoy his gaze.
Soaking in it. Feeling his eyes move over her. From her eyes to her nose, cheeks, lips. The curve of her neck. Slope of her shoulders. Her chest. The
tiny bit of cleavage just peeking out from her dress. Again, she blushes. This time so does he.

They lock eyes across the table and everything around them fades. They are in a universe all their own. Lost in the depths of each other's eyes. She can
feel his desire, and he hers. With a sense of longing to escape forever into that universe around them.

And their unspoken conversation begins...

Yash: " I love you .But..."

Aarti: "But what?"

Yash: "You love me and you know me so well Aartji. Most importantly you trust me so much. I love you too. But somehow every time I always end up misunderstanding you"

Aarti: "No Yashji. It wasn't your fault, it was the timing and the circumstances that we were in"

Yash: "No aartiji, I've always hurt you. I always put my needs and feelings before yours. Said and did things that have hurt you, but you have always forgiven me. How Aartji ? how do you do it? How do you always forgive me? Put everyone else before yourself?"

Aarti: " its simple Yashji, you are my life, my love. Without you I am nothing. I could never be mad at you. I told you before it was circumstances that caused us to drift apart. Stop blaming youself"

Yash: "but Aartiji..."

Aarti: "no yashji, we are here to enjoy ourselves now, whatever happened is in the past. We must move ahead but not forget what it thought us... always trust each other"

Yash: "what would I do without You Aartiji. I love you"

Aarti: "I love you to Yashji"

They barely notice the waiter as he places their first course between them. He watches her as she eats. Calmly bringing each morsel to her lips. He marvels at the pleasure she takes from each bite, as if she is tasting it for the first time.

She gazes at him over her glass as she sips her wine. She knows he is watching her. She reaches for another morsel of food. He deliberately snatches it just as her fingertip touches it. He grins as he takes a large bite. She offers her most convincing pout. He smiles affectionately and feeds her the rest. Her eyes smile back at him.

They continue on. Refilling their wine glasses and eating slowly. Just enough to keep the wine from going to their heads.

Time seems to stand still, stopping just for them; an eternity to enjoy each other's company. He watches her, she being watched. Anyone could see the energy between them. It can be felt. Something surreal is happening at the table. To them, it is completely natural, existing at that moment in their own universe.

The dinner plates arrive. They eat in silence. Feasting off each other's forks until hardly anything is left.

A single desert to share. A single spoon. He feeds her a small bite. She can't help but smile with pleasure at the sweetness. Her innocent pleasure makes its way across the tiny table, straight to his heart. How can he help but love her. He takes a large bite with the enthusiasm of a child. She laughs quietly at his childishness.

He feeds her another bite. Larger than the first. Some is left on her lips. He planned it of course. And she knows it. He reaches towards her before she can raise her napkin. But his reach is not for her lips. He puts his hand softly on her cheek and leans towards her. She leans towards him. He kisses her softy, tasting the sweetness of the dessert mixed with the sweetness of her...

Everything around them fades away. They are in their universe. Locked in a kiss. Time standing still...

PART 2

He kisses her softy, tasting the sweetness of the dessert mixed with the sweetness of her...

Everything around them fades away. They are in their universe. Locked in a kiss. Time standing still...

After what seemed like eternity, their lips part slowly. They shared a lifetime in that one kiss. In the sparkle in her eyes. Brown and glints of gold, it isn't from the candlelight reflecting, it is coming from within showing her happiness. And his eyes; Large, calm, and dark, soaking in her light like a black hole. Keeping it all for himself.

He rises from the table and steps over to her holding out his hand. She takes it lets him lead her away. They cross the room to the open door. It leads to a small patio. The air is still warm. The clear sky speckled with stars. The mood, nearly full, lights the path ahead for them. He takes her in his arm and they walk.

The path ends at a sandy area by the shore of the lake. They stop at the edge of the sand. Before she can do it, he kneels down and unbuckles her shoes, slipping them off her feet, and places them near a chair. She steps onto the sand. Soft and smooth. She smiles and squishes it between her toes. There's a childlike innocence again. He watches her, drinking in that innocence. He knows where she's going next. That's why he brought her here.

She lets out a giggle as the water touches her feet. It's cold; almost numbing. But she doesn't care. She can't resist the temptation to feel the water on her feet. She cocks her heard as if to dare him to come in after her. He grins and shakes his head. Not this time. He is staying safely on dry land. Or so he thinks. She kicks a stream of water towards him, soaking his dry clothes.

He wasn't expecting that. Though he should have been. He knows her too well. He was distracted; caught up in the moment staring at her childlike innocence. The look of shock on his face lets her know that he was caught off guard. She tilts her head back and laughs. The laugh of a confident woman. That is no innocent child standing in the lake before him.

At that moment he falls in love with her a little more, wondering how is that possible when his love is overflowing.

Bored with her solitary play, she rejoins him on the sand, putting her hands around his neck, and looks up at him with those sparkling eyes. He kisses her forehead, Nose, eyes and lips. They kiss playfully, eagerly. Lips smiling, tongues playing, eyes laughing. His hands placed firmly on her waist. Holding her close to him. Afraid to let go of this goddess that has graced his earth just for him.

They kiss until nearly out of breath. Parting with a quiet laughter. Amused at their youthful enthusiasm. She takes his hand and starts walking to the dock. She is radiant and he is captivated. At that moment he would follow her to the ends of the earth. She leads him to the very end of the dock. She has her toes hanging over the edge, the shore and dock out of view. All that can be seen before them is water smooth as glass, reflecting the moonlight. It is as if they are standing on the lake, or hovering over it. No dock beneath them or the shore behind them. She teeters just a little and grabs his jacket to steady herself. He puts his arm around her, a little unsteady as well. They are smiling at their circumstances.

They sit for a while. She wants to put her toes in the water, but it is just out of reach. She gives that adorable pout and rests her head on his shoulder instead. Letting out a sigh, she is finally relaxed, resting against him, enjoying the beauty of the lake, the stillness of the night. Everything is silent, except for the singing of the insects and the beating of their hearts. He takes her hand and caresses them from wrist to fingertip, as if to exploring something beautiful and fragile. Those hands of hers are anything but fragile except at that moment transformed by his gentle touch.

Yash: "Aartji, I wonder what my life would be without you sometimes... you complete me in every sense and yet I take you for granted"

Aarti: "now Yashji, where is this coming from?

Yash: "I know that you've noticed that I've been avoiding you for the past few days..."

Aarti: "I have Yashji, but I was scared to confront you about it as I thought that you felt that I was partly responsible for what had happened with Aayu... had I not been so careless to leave him alone in the car for those few minutes."

Yash: "no Aartiji, you have it all wrong, that isn't the reason why I have been avoiding you... the truth is that I did not know how to face you after all that has happened. I was too ashamed of myself to even talk to you, for every time that I glanced at you, all the hurtful words that I had hurled at you replayed in my mind and all the horrible things that I've done flashed before me and I was feeling guilty at the way I treated you. Sometimes I wonder if a part of you hates me for everything that I've said and done to you. Honestly at times I wonder if I really truly deserve your love and trust after all that I have put you through."

By this time both Yash and Aarti had tears in their eyes.

Aarti: "Yashji, I love you and I always will. Without you I am nothing. I can never hate you. Yes, I was upset, but it was not your fault. It was the fault of our circumstances at the time. I was upset but not for what you said to be but more because of the fact that you did not trust me at the time when I needed you the most. Everyone makes mistakes Yashji, yours was not trusting me at the time. But its all over now, we shouldn't dwell on the things that have already happened. What's done is done, all we can do now is learn from our mistakes and promise each other that we will never leave each others sides and will always trust each other come what may."

Yash: "I promise you Aartji that form this day forward, you won't have a single complaint about me. I will always trust you and fulfil all the vows that we took during our wedding. I love you. You may have only one complaint...my one track mind ;)"

Aarti: "badmash! I love you too Yashji and I promise to be by your side through everything no matter what happens."

He lifted her head from his shoulder and faced her to him. Kissing her forehead, then her cheeks, and finally her lips. Just barely touching her, he rises and helps her to her feet. Leading her off the dock, across the sand. He brushes the sand from her feet and slips them into her shoes. He struggles to close the tiny buckles not made for large fingers. She knows she could do it twice as fast, but she smiles and waits patiently, watching him concentrate. Falling in love with him a little more, wondering how that is possible when her love is already overflowing.

As he stands, he takes his face in her hands, gently, and kisses his lips. Their over spilling of emotions mingle and swirl around them. They are in their universe once again. Locked in a kiss under the moonlight. Time standing still...

A perfect end to a perfect date...
