I just found this thread, and what a beautifully expressed thought it is! I completely agree with everything you have said and I think one of the huge differences with this show was that the characters grew far past the actors. This is partly due to the fantastic writing and characterisation and partly due to GC and KS' convincing portrayals where they absolutely lost themselves in Yash and Aarti so much that you didn't know where one started and the other left off. Hats off for making the characters so real and so 3D that we were more interested in talking about them than the actors at any given point.

In many other shows, the actor bears the burden through their own hard-earned talent/fame/physique/look carry the story. Here, the story always carried the actors and with ease. Especially with two well-known faces like GC and KS, this is no mean feat, but they pulled it off like it was no big deal!

Every event, every situation added to the growth of the story...Yes, they slipped at times, but always stood up after the fall with a beautiful turnaround.

This is my maiden foray into the forum. I have no idea what I'll do after this. Having said that, I am going to be a more enriched individual than I was a year back when we break up. I have felt myself growing as a person through every interaction. We got together and were like this huge family for awhile only because of PV...and only for that reason, I can't thank the makers enough. Each and every member of that crew has my best wishes and love. They gave us each other...and some beautiful moments to share.

@Indu, 🤗 What can I say. My friend from the lost marbles club! What a journey its been isn't it. Ditto to everything you said but my heart sank at the thought of us breaking up. Let us hope that we still have this place to get together occasionally, a place to vent and to rejoice.

I wanted to keep a open mind for new story but knowing how zee tv works I'm going to skip it because i won't have the patience to keep up with their antics.

Will just wait for GC and KS to sign a new project(s). I know they will good work in the future too because they haven't disappointed me one bit yet 😳

Until then ill keep visiting this forum

Truly, the way this show has been written, with so much love and regard for not only its two lead protagonists, but also its secondary and tertiary characters, is a rarity.

I remember being wary of this forum when I first decided to watch the show...The slight tug-of-war between actor fan groups subsided so quickly that I can't even remember how the forum's members, those who were genuinely interested in "Yash and Aarti's story" came together and started speaking out, discussing the characters and performances rather than focusing on superficial aspects of the show. It became a story, not just a show. When a story is written with so much depth and executed with so much care, how it is possible to remain concerned with surface-level things all the time?

@bold, so so true, Borna. There are so many things I love about PV and this is truly right up there among the reason why I love PV. The care with which they have sketched out secondary characters be it SP or Gayatri or Shobha or even Dubey have always amazed me. So rare to see that.

Ahhh, the sentence in italics sums it up for me. Yup, no wonder we never 'cared' much for the nitty gritty details of the actors personal lives nor did these superficial things bother us too much. Our interest was always held by the powerful narrative. So yes, thank you Mittals.

Oh Sammy, no doubt about the role GC and KS have played. In fact this is something I have always wondered. How this show would have turned out if other actors other than GC and KS had played it. This is not to demean any other actors. I am sure there are plenty of fabulous actors out there. Yet, GC and KS gave that special touch to Yash and Aarti that I am not sure if anyone else could have. Yash was at his worst post Mumbai. Yet, it was GC's acting that tapped into our sympathetic emotions and made us want to hug Yash even when we all felt like thwacking his head for being such a drama queen. That scene where he cries lying down on Gayatri's lap and then walks back to the room a completely broken man will always stay in my mind. It may have been the writers who wrote those scenes but it was GC who made me cry and want to hug Yash and never let him go. And same with KS too. Those scenes where she cries out during Ansh's first kidnapping and the one where she is screaming her head off that she loves Yash just before the boxing match still gives me goosebumps. And how can I forget the scene where she sees her pictures on the wall. It was Kratika's nuances that brought tears in my eyes. And her ability to transition herself from an indulgent mother to a sexy sensuous wife have always blown my mind away.

That sentence in bold is spot on. I have experienced it in the previous show that I was hooked on to where the actor got completely bogged down by bad script and writing. It was so sad to watch. The story, the writing all makes such a huge difference. Like you said, in PV, the narrative was always so amazing that it gave GC and KS an opportunity to flourish and display the depth of their acting skills. 😃

Binde, so true about Zee TV. 😆 I thought the same after CB ended but PV pulled me write back in. Mittals have a gift- no doubt about that. 😆

Kirthi - trust you to come with a completely unexpected spin and make us all wonder - huh - truly, that was so obvious, why didn't i see it? One of the reasons why i love reading anything you post.

This is the only forum where i have ever posted. And PV finally unlocked the writer in me - just like in so many others. The characters have been so well etched by the CVs/Mittals - its like having Yash, Arti, Vidhi, Prtik, Pari and the rest as your own close friends.

And i have found such wonderful friends in the forum. Sigh... i do wish the mods would keep this forum open so we all can still meet.
