Ishita is all cocky that there is no watchman at home like there was at the hospital, but she forgets that no watchman can be more vigilant than a mother! Ma ka pyaar always wins in our desi stories. We know for sure that she is not going to succeed in kidnapping Aayu because he is very much in the spoilers where the whole family is in different clothes. I really do hope they don't show a kidnapping because that would be, like I said yesterday, drama for drama's sake and would not do anything for the story. Also, I would advise the CVs to cut down on Ishita's soliloquies. Really, we don't care what she is thinking and we certainly don't care to hear it for the 1234453th time! She wants Yash, we get it. She wants Aayu out of the way, got it. No need for a whole two minute self-talk for that; and there rests my only criticism of the episode.

Otherwise it was beautiful! To be honest, we don't really need the Ishita drama. I loved that we went back to Paridhi and Prateek today as the dominant parallel track: back to the basics. I think the CVs realised that Ishita-Akash was not bringing in the numbers so they are trying something new. Good for them! As an old timer, this is what I want to see more of in the show, hard-hitting emotional issues that require mature handling, not Ishita's silly plots which are best matched with the bluntness of the kids! Actually she is best paired with Bua and them because they function at her level of immaturity and insecurity, respectively. I would actually love to see a sort of surrogate parent-child relationship form between Bua and her as they sort of have a similar grouse with life; life treated them badly so they are going to take it out on everyone around them and make them suffer. In fact if you guys remember, at the beginning of the show we used to say that Bua had this weird fixation with Yash and was almost jealous of Aarti for getting him as a husband. I feel like there is real ground to create a different sort of co-dependence here where both can point out the errors in each other and so see the insecurities within themselves.

I love how Ishita's authority was totally undermined by Yash and the kids. Despite the fact that she went through the effort of putting them to sleep in her room, they not only snuck back into papa's bed, but became is secret-keepers when he made his clandestine visit to their mumma. I can just imagine Yash telling them his plan all conspirationally and the kids going to bed filled with excitement at being in on such a fun little secret, and feeling secure that their parents loved them very much and loved each other! So when Ishita came back, they were just a little bit sarcastic with her, especially Palak with her "bechare Papa..." line. Loved it!

And the Aarti-Yash scene, what can I say? This is what they do best, isn't it? The comedy-romance that slips from intensity to fun without a single jerk and which leaves you with butterflies in your stomach and the biggest grin on your face at the end! The part where Yash just barely saved himself from falling on Radha and then looked up with Aarti like he had won a Nobel prize while she gave him the dirtiest of looks reminded me so much of their SR that it made my heart ache with nostalgia... but in the best way possible. They haven't changed at all but they have changed so much!

Finally, Paridhi. I am so very excited for this! I agree with Jyo; I have a sneaking feeling the Paridhi "uss raat" went out the window along with the BMT track as they were meant to be parallel. It also makes perfect sense why Paridhi got so sensitive at the water-slipping incident; she was furious that Aarti took her motherhood and her ability to have babies for granted.

I have so many hopes for this track that I am afraid to even voice them but here goes anyway:

1. I would love them to show in flashback that Paridhi actually told Prateek about UR because she was worried that she was pregnant [i.e. she was late that month] but when they went to the doctor to get her checked, they found out that she could never conceive. 😭 After she and Prateek slowly grew apart because neither of them had the maturity to deal with the situation; Paridhi was too guilty and sad to say anything and Prateek was too afraid of confrontation, which is why Pari told Vidhi that she felt like their love was fading after marriage. But they tried to act like everything was normal and Paridhi threw herself into being the perfect bahu because she felt she had cheated the Scindias out of the one thing they really wanted.

2. Aayu can be a bone of contention at first, but eventually I would love to see Pari and Prateek adopt their own little angel. I find it highly unnecessary that they should take Aarti and Yash's "pyar ki nishani" when there are so many babies in the world that don't have parents. I can't see Aarti and Yash being willing to give up Aayu, plus the situation would only cause everyone, including Aayu more pain down the road. Instead, I would love to see them adding to the family's happiness by bringing a new baby that really needs them. It could also deal with the still prevalent stigma of adoption and go back to one of the essential themes of the show: khoon vs. dil ka rishta.

3. I am also liking this suggestion that maybe it isn't Paridhi but Prateek who is impotent. This would be yet another important social issue addressed and the Mittals have in fact touched on a related issue in DABH where Sandhya educates a family who were going to kick their DIL out because she was only giving birth to daughters. She says it is the man and not the woman who carries the chromosome... or something? My science is weak. 😆

Anyway, I do hope the Mittals go one of these routes and not with the ghisa pita baby sacrifice track. And once again, NO KIDNAPPING, PLEASE! Remember that the other two kidnappings worked because we weren't traumatised about Ansh's condition; he was well taken care of. The same would not be the case here and Aayu is just a baby. Please DO NOT put the loyal audience through that kind of agony. To be honest, I don't think I could watch. 😕
