Chapter four

Just like the law of nature, freedom, choice and right of decision is given to all man existing on this planet earth. Mr. Suraj promised to make life so unbearable for his son Yash, should he choose not to marry Dubey's daughter Aarti whom he has proposed for him.

One day, Yash was in his office thinking when his friend and office colleague Akash stepped in to notice Yash's bad mood but as a very good friend of his, he could not cope without company of Yash so he conciously asked.

"Hello Yash what's up, is there any problem because any blind man can see that something is wrong maybe you can tell me, I am your friend remember?"

"yes I know, but there is no problem." Yash replied.

"come on Yash don't you tell me that because its all over you, for couple of days now you've been without your self, your office job has been seriously affected, I barely see you around unlike before that we use to stay together always, it seems that you don't know that the executive board is seriously complaining." Akash said anxiously.

"Akash, I am sorry if I am behind schedule just that I have a very big problem on my shoulder and if I don't act fast I might fall into a wrong hand which I may end up regretting." Yash lamented.

"Tell me what the problem is, if u tell me maybe we can find a solution to it, don't forget two good heads are better than one." Akash encouraged.

"Few days ago, my father called me to the house few days back to see him, on arriving there I met him and my mother arguing with each other when I try to find out what the argument was all about, my father told me that he has found a wife for me, a girl who happens to be his friend's daughter." Yash sobs.

"Wonderful, God, this is hard to believe man I mean why should your own decision." Akash agitated.

"it doesn't end there, he also promised to disown me if I fail him. But the reason why he is doing this is because the girl's dad work under the ministry of works in the federal government and u know for some time now he has been without contract, that's why he is trying to seal that in order to secure a place in that ministry." Yash explained.

"Man, I must confess that u have a very difficult task ahead of you, may be you should try and reason with your father, he may have been forced into it by the girl's father, you know these rich men have a way of converging things into their favor." Akash advised.

"There is nothing on earth that you will say to my father to listen, the way he is going about this, he is very serious, most especially when his contract is involved." Yash added.

After much deliberation by the two friends they decide to lie low and wait for what's going to happen in future.

Meanwhile Dubey has succeeded in filling Aarti with fear and anxiety, he threaten to deny her birthright should she turn down the opportunity of marrying Yash whom he believed to be honest and intelligent boy and will fit in perfectly as a husband for her.

Aarti decided to leave her father's house in order to secure a more conducive atmosphere since the house is no longer accommodating, she refuses food for couple of days, and attempt suicide by taking sleeping pills, thinking that will persuade her dad into changing his mind but all effort to stop the marriage leads to no avail. Few days later dubey called suraj to inform him about a new proposed contract by the federal government which worth around Rs250m. Dubey told Suraj that the contract is to construct an over headed bridge along a very big river, if Mr. Suraj submit his proposal in time, he may be able to secure the contract. Mr. Suraj who has been without contract for quite some time now was so desperate to secure it so he reacted quickly to it. While he was in Dubey's office for the submission of his proposal he pleaded with Dubey to try and make everything possible for him every means necessary but he has to act quickly and seal the marriage between Aarti and Yash together and that if he succeeded in doing that, then he will automatically seal an everlasting relationship between the two families. Mr. Suraj then swore to finalize the marriage plans in a forth night to show Dubey how serious he was and no jupiter on earth or under the earth can stop the marriage unless if he is no longer the man he used to be. He told Dubey to go home and get his kinsmen ready to accept him and his families for the marriage introduction in a forth night. Later that evening, Mr. Suraj pratap invited Yash over to have a talk with him, Yas who initially refuse to go due to the pressure from his father, he later decided to respond to the call after being convinced by Akash to try and hear whatever he has to say. When Yash arrived to his family house that night, he was so restless and wearing a very long face. When his father saw that, he called,

"look here my son, wearing that long face or even ignoring my phone calls will do you no good. You know one thing about you kids is that you do that you have grown and have come of age but what an elder see while sitting, a child at the top of the tallest mountain will not see it. When I first saw that girl, I saw future in her.

That was when I concluded that she will be the one u need. My son I can never see a burning fire and push you into it, all I want is the best for u. that's why I called you so that we can talk nd reason like men. Suraj pleaded.

"Dad, honestly I understand all your efforts so far but you shouldn't have conclude with her father, what you should have done is seek for my consent first, for the look on a woman's face is not a contraction of how the heart will be. I have never met this girl you are talking about, how will I know if she is the right woman for me?" Yash stated.

"when you meet her, I bet u will immediately fall in love with her, she is the best you can ever get in a woman, trust me son, you will never regret this, I promised." Suraj pleaded.

"Dad that's very touching, but I'm sorry I can't adhere to it, I want to choose my wife by my self and I will advice u withdraw whatever arrangement you are making towards it." Yash disagreed.

"I can see now that you have grown wings and can talk to your father like that but let me warn u, if u ever let this opportunity to pass, you will seize to be my son and non of my wealth shall ever get to you, I will make sure you live everyday of your life regretting this event." Suraj warned him and left into the bedroom in a very angry mood and Yash also left the house without saying goodnight to his mother who was in the kitchen when the discussion was on.
