So heart wreching and so touching update. I literally cried while reading this chapter. Both Aarti and Yash now suffers an intolerable pain and heartache with a connection to their past. Yash way back then intentionally hurt Aarti as he is unsure of her feelings to him? And everytime Aarti's near him he easily forgot about Arpita and intentionally and blindedly too accused her for taking her first wife's life. And now everything is fall back to him. His anger and suppressed feelings for Aarti accidentally and unintentionally making her grief worst she lose her baby. As to the last line it seems more suspense is waiting for us.

He didn't do it on purpose, just like what Aarti did wasn't done on purpose. It's okay though, they'll both eventually get over the loss.

Aww I'm so sorry I made you cry! Yes, back then he hurt Aarti intentionally for a reason, and he's forgetting Arpita everytime Aarti comes near him nowadays.

Yash sat on the same rock he and Aarti had sat on four years ago. Memories of the past filled his mind. It was on this same rock that he had questioned himself that night. Why did he care so much that this girl's boyfriend cheated on her? Granted, Arpita had told him to tell Aarti, but he wasn't asked to sit with Aarti and comfort her. Yet, he did. It was the first time he felt attracted to her. But he brushed it off as something normal.

Later on, months later, when he got locked in the classroom with her, he did the most unexpected thing. He got so strongly attracted to her that he wasn't able to resist himself. He could tell she wanted him too by the way she was looking at him, and he was certain that he wanted the same. They carried on with the physical intimacy until Aarti told him that she couldn't do this any longer, and he reluctantly agreed. He didn't know why she did that. It was true that he enjoyed the intimacy, but he didn't want to make Aarti feel like she was compelled to do something she wasn't comfortable with.

They spent the next few months distancing themselves from each other. It was more of Aarti distancing herself from him, for reasons he didn't know. During those few months, he was just her tutor. He had really enjoyed tutoring her. The cute faces she used to make when she was in deep thought, the frown on her face when she didn't understand something, all of it really attracted him to her. He had also noticed on countless occasions that Aarti would stare at him, and then look away. He wished she hadn't constructed that barrier between them because he always wanted to cross his limits, but he managed to keep himself in control.

Soon, exams were over, and he was going to graduate. With a heavy heart, he realized that meant he'd have to say bye to Aarti too. When Aarti told him that she needed to meet him, his heart jumped, because he wanted to tell her to stay in touch too. What happened when they met was a pleasant surprise though. They kissed again. Things got so heated up that they made it to the backseat of his car and almost went all the way. To his dismay, she stopped him, but the moment that followed was a very peaceful one, where they just relished being in each other's presence.

When Aarti confessed that she liked him that night, she looked beautiful. He was so drawn towards her beauty that he told her he liked her too. It wasn't a lie, it really wasn't. He did like her a lot, but he hadn't thought about the consequences of his actions. He asked Aarti to be his that night, and he truly was happy to hold her in his arms until sunrise.

That beautiful night, he would have never guessed that he was going to break her heart the very next day.

Yash went to the temple the following day because Arpita wanted to see him, and he couldn't say no. As soon as he got to the temple, he saw Aarti and Prashant talking. She begged him to come back to her and Yash saw the pain and longing in her eyes. Later on, she passed it as a lie, but he could see through it all. He could see how much she was hurting inside. Nevertheless, he had been happy that Aarti had said no to Prashant.

He only understood how deeply Aarti wanted Prashant when Arpita came in front of him. The same feelings he had felt for her before they decided to part ways came crashing down again and he went back to square one, just like Aarti had. Aarti had the strength to say no to Prashant, but at that moment Yash's strength was put to the test. He liked to tell himself that he let Aarti go for her sake, but he knew that there was a selfish reason behind that too. He loved Arpita, and he liked Aarti. As soon as Arpita told him that she managed to convince her parent's, Yash became confused. He didn't want to hurt Aarti, because he really did like her. On the other hand, he would be wronging Arpita too, because she only broke her engagement with the hopes of getting back together with him.

So he told Arpita about his dilemma. Arpita hugged him comfortingly that day and told him to follow his heart. She told him to do what would make him and Aarti ultimately happy, and he needn't worry about her feelings. So Yash told her that he'd speak to Prashant. He told her that he'd make sure Prashant wouldn't break Aarti's heart again and he'd let her return to him.

Arpita told him everything would be okay if Yash chose to stay with Aarti, but Yash shook his head. He said he only liked Aarti, he wasn't in love with her. Looking back, he realized how selfish he was being.

He did want Aarti to be happy, and he did think she'd be happy with Prashant and Prashant would be happy with her. He didn't want to wrong her, but he knew that he and Arpita would be happy together too. If all four of them ended up being happy, why would it matter who ended up with whom? After squeezing Arpita's hand gratefully, Yash went to speak to Prashant.

"Prashant," Yash said angrily, when Yash met him at the park. "Listen to me carefully. Aarti will come back to you on one condition... you must treat her right. If I ever find out that you wronged her I won't spare you, do you understand?"

Prashant looked at Yash with raised eyebrows.

"Why? Who are you to say all of this to me?" Prashant asked him.

"I'm Aarti's boyfriend."

Prashant's eyes widened, "What? She got another boyfriend after me?"

"She isn't allowed to?" Yash asked him in a disgusted tone. "When you could get another girlfriend while you were with her, why can't she get another boyfriend if she's single?"

"No... but you?" Prashant asked, sounding surprised. "She told me she didn't like you..."

"Listen Prashant," Yash sighed, "I don't have time to explain myself. You really hurt her okay, and I'm going to let her go back to you, and to do that I'm going to make her hate me. I know that I'll break her heart, but you have to be there to fix it. You have to act like you never knew about me and Aarti unless she tells you herself, and if she does, you accept it. Do you understand? If I ever hear that her heart is broken, then I will not let you live. I'll make your life hell. Do you understand? Never tell her we had this conversation."

Prashant nodded, a completely flabbergasted expression on his face.

"But why are you doing all this?" he asked.

"Call it humanity if you will. You've got a great girl, keep her happy, and treat her properly."

Then he turned around and left the park.

He got Aarti's text at that moment, and he told her to meet her there. He was going to break her heart, he was going to kill her soul, but he had to do it for everyone's benefit, including his own.

When Aarti hugged him from the back, he had held her hands momentarily, to make sure all of this was real. He had a hard time saying those venomous words to her while looking her in the eye at the beginning, but he mustered up the courage and he hurt her. He lied to her he was using her, he lied that he had cheated on her. He lied and lied that day as she cried. He broke her heart, ripping apart his own in the process.

When she slapped him, he had expected it. He deserved the slap. After all, he did break her heart. He felt even more horrible when he left her crying in the rain as he drove off. His heart ached everytime he thought about that night.

After that, he returned to Arpita. His mind still wandered off to Aarti, he wondered if he did the right thing by giving her back to Prashant. Prashant had texted him later on and told him that he was back with Aarti, and she seemed happy to be with him. Yash shared the news with Arpita, and it was the first time that Arpita had suspiciously looked at him. She asked him that night if he was sure he made the right decision.

Just over a year later, Prashant gave him the news that he was going to go to Bhopal and marry Aarti. Around that time, Yash was already preparing for his wedding with Arpita. Yash was happy for them, Aarti's dreams of marrying Prashant were finally coming true. After he heard the news of them leaving to Bhopal, Yash never came in contact with Prashant or Aarti, until he saw Aarti on the streets that day. That night, he contacted Prashant and found out that he and Aarti had gotten divorced months ago. He got so angry, and Arpita tried to pacify him. Arpita had that same suspicious look that night, and Yash felt guilty about making her feel this way.

Arpita had always been with him, she always supported him. She was so loyal, so devoted to him, and he respected her so much. He really did love Arpita, he loved her a lot, so when Arpita died, his world came crashing down. He had a daughter to take care of, and Arpita had requested that he marry Aarti. He married her against her will, and now he was in this position. Now, he was stuck here, ready to let her leave.
