So far I've never met (thank goodness) anyone who thinks he/she is the bearer of bad luck/negativity and that's why upon reading this, I was beyond shocked and couldn't comprehend the extents of aarti's self hatred. Her innocence were snatched away by the people who were supposed to preserve it.
Seriously Indu you're a fantastic writer and I salute you for this work. It's easy to write a romance piece as either we have gone through it or dreamed/fantasized about it but to write such pain, insecurities and emotions which we never want to feel/go through in our entire life really requires talent and immense imagination. I really don't know how you managed to write Aarti's pain in such depths. I'm shell shocked and rendered speechless with your brilliance Indu. You're fantastic and here is my jhappi and hug for a woman with beyond this world imaginations. 🤗
Sheema, you are still young. You lead a very protective life at the moment. You have still years to go before you meet people of varied kinds belonging to different strata of society. Believe me there are worst people than the Dubeys in our society who follow some staunch, blind beliefs. In fact if we look within our own family system, we may come across superstitious people within us. Listen to this: My brother too is a fauji. His wife belongs to Rajasthan. They have two daughters...grown up now. When she had the first child, she started crying on seeing my mother and apologizing, when ma went in to see her after the birth. Her grandma almost fell at my father's feet. They thought my parents will be disappointed and treat my bhabhi badly, since she was the eldest bahu and couldn't beget a son. Mind you she is a highly educated girl. My father was livid at his DIL's thinking. They were taken aback when he walked out disappointed at her behavior, and it took all of my mother's patient explanation how in our family a girl is not only adored but worshipped as Lakshmi before they understood that the little one was a joy for us and my father had already planned out the celebration. Today my bhabhi is more modern in her outlook than probably even I am...all because of my brother and parents.
Well, that got long. Thank you for the kind words Sheema. Your jhappis are as always the most welcomed part of your post. Hugs back to you manifold...🤗
