Part 14 – The Engagement ..PT3 3.1

Guys I know I dragged the engagement part.. but this part is actually the engagement.. I had loads of ideas so that's why.. The engagement will have to parts!..

ReCap – Aarti definitely said yes to marry but Aarti is upset that she has to leave to go to London in two month time.. which makes Yash heartbroken that Aarti is going to leave him for 2 years. They decide to get engaged before Aarti goes to London. Prashant is also upset to hear that Aarti is leaving and also heard that Aarti wants to get engaged already..Arpita tells him that engagement is nothing; she also tells him that he would be happy for Aarti if he really loved her. She convinces him to break up Aarti and Yash but Prashant doesn't agree and tries to cover up what he really thinks and says that they were meant to be together not him and Aarti..

Yash and Aarti leave the lounge and wonder the streets at night.. Prashant and Arpita also follow them discreetly..They come across a beach where they share a romantic time together and talking about naming babies.. Prashant feels jealous seeing all this, Arpita starts controlling him.. Arpita and Prashant share an eyelock, Arpita snaps out of it and they both continue to watch Yash and Aarti .. Arpita was admiring him.

Arpita – ((Prashant, you know.. I don't actually want Yash, I know you like Aarti.. but I couldn't help myself you know? .. I was admiring you from a long time and I feel you're the one for me.. Yash and Aarti are the perfect couple I must say.. I am doing this so WE can come closer together.. I know you 'love' Aarti… but I love you.. I am doing this for you my love..))

Arpita dozed off.. she dozed off smiling at his face… Prashant was going to go all full on hulk mode.. he couldn't take it no longer..he turned around..

Prashant : ARPI..

Arpita woke up.. she looked at Prashant beady eyed

Arpita : Shit.. we have to hide..

Yash and Aarti turned around in a shock.. they were so confused.. they definitely heard something.. a voice of a man.. who was it.. was someone following them?

Prashant : what? What have I done..

Arpita : you are such an idiot aren't you.. you screamed my name and they both turned around .. they probably feeling uncomfortable because they heard your stupid voice! And now they think that someone is stalking them..

Prashant : well we are doing so.. I am going.. I don't care about you I cam going now..

Yash dropped Aarti off at her home.. Yash gave her a passionate kiss and left.. He was so relieved that her had just proposed to her.. Yash's dad was still awake.. he wanted to hear the good news.. he was also very happy ..

Mr Schindia : Yash beta?

Yash : yes bauji?

Mr Schindia : did you do it?

Yash : Bauji, I did it!! And she did accept.. but..

Mr Schindia : what happened beta?

Yash : Aarti is going to London for 2 years in a couple of months and we can't prepare all it in a couple of months.. I want this to be grand.. I have been dreaming of this day Bauji..! we agreed that before she goes we will get engaged.. did I do the right thing ?

Deepa : AARTI !! worth going eh?

Aarti : you helped didn't you?

Deepa : pfft no!!

Aarti : I know you did!! Anyway Thanks Di thanks a lot!!!

Aarti hugged her sister.. she was excited for this but she was upset that she has to leave..She started to cry

Deepa : What is up now? Hmm? He proposed right? That little.. scrum bag .. he

Aarti : DI!! .. no he did.. you know I am going to London in 2 months aren't i! we wont be able to get married by then.. we need to get it all sorted..

Deepa : well, I am sure we can get you engaged before you go Aarti!

Aarti : that's what me and Yash are thinking.. to get engaged .. but I am going aren't I .. and I didn't even think about him.. I was too selfish and I thought about myself..

Deepa : look.. I am sure when your in London he will give you a surprise!.. he will.. he is the sort to do that..

Aarti: but cant he just come with me?

Deepa : The only problem is that he cant stay for that long can he? Hmm?

Aarti : true..

Deepa : aww my little sister getting engaged!!!

Aarti : yes.. now shush! we need to go to sleep!!.. and forget about me I am fixed!.. what about you matchmaker Di? …I am sure I will be a good matchmaker and pair you up with someone special!!

Deepa : no need for that!.. ppfft

Aarti : I am only a few years younger and I have a marriage proposal, what about you hain?

Deepa : I will think about it

*ONE MONTH LATER*

Mr Dubey : OI!! Decorater!! Get all these flowers up! .. this is my daughters engagement ! and if you want a good pay I suggest you do this job splendid!

Mr Schindia came through the door with his son Yash, Mr Dubey turned straight away to his best friend leaving the decorators to it!

Mr Schindia : Dubey! No need to get stressed! Its your daughters engagement!

Mr Dubey : you know I want this perfect Suraj!

Mr Schindia : don't worry! Where is Shoba?

Mr Dubey: she is upstairs, she is getting Aarti ready..

Mr Schindia : I will go meet them.. Yash you go sit down..

Yash wasn't going to sit down.. he was restless.. he wanted to see Aarti.. he was so eager to see her.. he also went to go follow his dad but someone stopped him..

Prashant : Yash!

Yash : oh Prashant you came?

Prashant : Yes.. well if I didn't come then I wouldn't be here you fool!

Prashant : ((I only came for Aarti really))

Yash : aha ok then .. did you bring Arpita with you like I said?

Prashant : yeh I did she will be here now.. she just went somewhere..

Yash : oh right.. so You and Arpita eh ? tell me then bro?

He motioned his eyes to Arpita who just entered the Dubey House.. Prashant walked away from Yash and went to Arpita .. Prashant turned around and saw Yash wink at him.. Prashant didn't want Arpita.. but Arpita wanted him.. She dragged him in a corner!

Arpita : are you really going to do this Prashant..

Arpita : (( you cant just ruin them Prashant .. you just cant.. ))

*LAST MONTH (next day after Yash proposed)*

Prashant went to go meet Arpita at the park that next day after Yash and Aarti's confession..Prashant really didn't want to go.. he want to sit their alone in his room and sulk.. he didn't have no choice but to go.. he only went for Aarti but was it really for Aarti or just for himself?

Arpita : I am so surprised that you came..

Prashant : well I didn't want to be a loser if I didn't..

Arpita : (( don't say that.. ))

Arpita : You aren't a looser.. now come here with me..

Prashant : where are you taking me?

Arpita : just shush and come..

Prashant : fine.

Prashant followed her.. he casually looked at his phone now and then.. Arpita saw a huge tree and ran to it.. Prashant saw her action and also ran with her.. Arpita stopped, as soon as she got there she sat down leaning on the trunk of the tree.. Prashant still running tripped over her.. he fell over.. Arpita immediately apologized and she tried to help him up.. his face flat on the ground (lolz)

Prashant : I don't need your help..

Arpita : then why are you here? You are here for help right..?

Prashant : I meant that I don't need help getting up.. I can do that myself..

Arpita : but you cant get Aarti right?

Prashant: yeh.. right..

Arpita : (( see unlike you Prashant I am trying to get you.. I know you may love her but I am doing what you are doing really.. ))

Prashant : just tell me what you want me to do..

Arpita : you will get invited to their engagement right?

Prashant : knowing Yash then yes probably ..

Arpita : well you are going to take me with you, that's the first step!

Prashant : I wouldn't dare go with you!! To be honest I don't want to go!

Arpita : Prashant listen, do you want her or not?

Prashant : that is why I am here!

Arpita : THEN LISTEN!

Prashant : fine.

Prashant said this in a firm voice.. They both sat down, Arpita started talking about her plan..

Prashant and Arpita spent a lot of time under the tree together.. It made Prashant feel comfortable with her really.. When he was with Aarti it was just nerves.. but with Arpita he felt something.. While Arpita was talking Prashant gazed at her face which made Arpita stop and stare at Prashant.. Prashant then dozed out of the gaze and continued to listen to her plan.. he didn't sound convinced and he really didn't want to do it.. for Aarti's sake.. how could he do that.. ? he continued to see if it got better.. but it didn't.. he realized that Arpita was slowly trying to get closer to him.. what was up with her lately he thought.. He slowly moved away from her by grabbing his coat and sitting there.. She realized his action and just spoke.. she felt a cold wind blow on her that made her shiver.. it made Prashant want to give her his jacket.. he took it off and was about to give it to her when a lady came over..

Lady : hey you!! Oi yes you two there under the tree

Arpita : ji aunty?

Lady : we don't want your romance here in this park, now get lost!

Arpita : Aunty we are not we are just talking and besides.. we are not boyfriend girlfriend

Prashant stood there annoyed, a bit embarrassed .. peed off really..

Lady : I suggest you get out of here

Arpita : AuntyJi this is not your Park..

The lady got her chappal and came forward.. Prashant grabbed Arpita's hand and ran from the park and into a caf shop.. They got in breathless.. Arpita looked at Prashant who was still holding her hand, she felt good.. he started to laugh.. making Arpita laugh too..

Arpita: ((He looks so cute when he laughs.. and he still holding my hand))

*ENGAGEMENT*

Aarti was in her room getting ready for the engagement.. He sister was getting her dressed along with her mum Shoba Dubey.. Deepa was getting excited for this.. even more excited than Aarti was..Just then Mr Schindia knocked on the door..

Shoba Dubey: Who is it?

Deepa: My BROTHER IN LAW!! You cannot come in yet! You can see her when she comes down! Now go!

Shoba Dubey: Deepa! It might not be Yash!

Mr Schindia: Shoba, it is me Suraj .. I have come to meet my daughter in law!

Shoba Dubey: go and open the door beta..

Deepa opened the door and let Mr Schindia through.. Yash ran up and was just about to enter when Deepa shut the door on him.. she opened it slightly and said..

Deepa: you know Yash this is not even your wedding… it's your engagement.. what will you do when you cannot see your brides face?😆 JUST WAIT

Mr Schindia: Aarti beta..

Aarti: Yes Bauji?

Shoba Ma told Aarti that she will have to be downstairs in 5 minutes.. ShobaMa went to call Deepa so she could bring her down.. Shoba Ma left the room leaving Mr Schindia and Aarti alone.. Prashant saw Shoba Ma exiting the room.. Prashant hid himself and went up stairs..

Mr Schindia: I want you to take this ..

Mr Schindia gave Aarti a necklace which had a pearl pendant in the middle..

Aarti: I cannot take this! Bauji I cant!.. this is GayatriMa's

Mr Schindia: yes you are right.. she went away from me and my son 10 years ago.. Yash was only 9 then.. This is your gift from both of us

Aarti: I cant take this! This is yours

Mr Schindia: it is yours to keep! Now hurry and get downstairs.. look Deepa is here to bring you down! I shall leave now! Bye Beta!

Aarti: Bye Bauji..

Mr Schindia left .. he left the door wide open .. Prashant slid through the door carefully so no one could see him.. even Deepa didn't notice..

Deepa: GRR Yash is so eager to see you!!..

Aarti: well that's my Yash I guess!

Deepa: you get ready to go downstairs.. let me just go to the loo!

Aarti: you don't have to say that Di..gosh..

Deepa: well I did.. now wait by the door hurry!!...

Aarti walked to the door when she finds Prashant standing infront of her..

Aarti: Prashant.. what are you doing here!

Prashant: I have come to see you!

Aarti: I am so glad you came! I hope you came with Arpita!!

Prashant: I did!..

Aarti: aww I am so happy for you two!!.. by the way you shouldn't be here! You should be down with her !! and Yash!

Prashant: well I just wanted to meet you!

Deepa came out the loo and saw Prashant talking to Aarti..

Deepa: oh hello Prashant!! Now.. hmm leave ? please? We are coming down!! ..

Prashant: sorry!.. I am going..

Prashant walked down the stairs thinking..

((oh god.. she is annoying.. nothing like Aarti.. why did I think I could do this.. I couldn't do that!! How could I just tell her to be with me, i cant run away with her.. blackmail her.. no ... ARPITA ...))

A couple of minutes went by.. Prashant and Yash were standing next to each other.. when they see Aarti and Deepa come down the stairs dressed beautifully.. Their eyes were stuck on her..Aarti was wearing a green anarkali suit with a gold set.. Yash saw her wearing her mums necklace and got all teary eyed.. he smiled at her..

Mr Dubey: Yash Beta.. this is just the engagement.. what will you do when she is in bridal clothes aha!

Yash felt shy..he stared at Aarti while she was coming down the stairs.. Aarti looked at Yash shly.. Prashant felt the jelly (jealously) burning in.. Arpita nudged him one..

Arpita: you couldn't do it could you?

Prashant: I don't have the guts.. I couldn't..i cant..

Arpita: ((PHEWW!! I knew he wouldn't..))

Aarti came down and sat next to Yash.. she looked at Yash..They were both blushing.. Deepa snapped some photos of them both before the ring ceremony..
