Ditto. Thanks Kadeen - you saved me the explanation. And yes, neither Vidhi nor Suneeta ever trusted him fully. In their case it was because they suspected he wouldn't really marry Arti - as did she subconsciously, hence her forcing his hand.

I will just add - Prashant has an underlying insecurity that his wife's best friends sense and mistrust. His job is finally giving him confidence to overcome that - but he is not there yet.

Prashant did come to accept the pregnancy, started turning into more of a family man than before. Shobha played the major role in that. Did he perchance know of the new job requirement? Per Shonali - no, since he visited them 4 months ago, and he had "turned over a new leaf" prior to that. Had he perhaps heard rumours about it though? Maybe...who knows.

Why did Prashant come back? Because he hadn't really left. He had to go on a business trip and he went. Seething with anger and resentment...but not with the intention of deserting his wife. He came back to his wife and his home, with a new-found realization and appreciation for family.
