It was a smart dialogue by the writers. His wife was once Prashant's, his son is also Prashant's, so his family is in a way, also Prashant's.

this shows the future guilt trip or Aarti, him helping Prashant even though not being aware of Prashant truth, Aarti will be in much bigger guilt and this web of lies will definitely increase...
