Jaspreet Nijher, TNN | Sep 21, 2012, 04.52PM ISTKratika Sengar, who played the fiery Jhansi Ki Ranirecently on TV, is quite a multi-talented woman, it seems. Besides doing all the stunts herself in the serial Jhansi Ki Rani, where she also did sword fighting, horse riding, and the folk martial art Malkhamb, it has now emerged that Kratika is also a trainer Bharathanatyamdancer.
The actress, who was playing the coy Aarti in the socially revolutionary serial Punarvivaahafter Jhansi Ki Rani, is going to do a dance cameo on Ganesh Chaturthi in the popular serial, Pavitra Rishta. "I am performing this classical dance on the song Man Mohini from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. I like this song personally also very much owing to its evocative lyrics and the drama added in it by Shankar Mahadevan's spirited vocals," says the charming Kratika.
With a five year training in Bharathanatyam, she hadn't been able to practice the dance since long because of her hectic acting schedule. Yet, when she was asked to perform in this serial, she agreed. "Yes, I had been out of touch with Bharathanatyam for a while now but given my love for the form and my training, I was able to pick up the steps quickly," she adds.
Incidentally, Kratika has recently also won an award in Delhi called the Aadhi Aabadi award that recognizes women super-achievers. She was given the award for being a motivational force for women across the country.
