I don't every comment on this forum but I think I get Yash...
There have been a lot of comments on how could Aarti forget something as big as a fire? Why has Yash been treating her so poorly? and why is he getting rid of Aprita's things in Bhopal? I think I can actually understand some of the motivation behind the actions.
First
"How could Aarti forget something as big as the fire?
Simple answer is according to the time line the fire would have happened the day before they left, so that means that Yash started in on his emo break first thing the morning of their departure, and on returning home turned into a straight up jacka** that blamed Aarti for something. What ...nobody knows, but she's been assured that what ever went wrong was her fault. So then the question becomes what? What did I do/ say that brought about such a huge change in disposition? Not what happened but what did I do. The fire itself becomes secondary.
Second Question
Why is Yash treating her so poorly?
Simple enough ...Everything is someone's fault. Yash seems to be suffering from a large dose of guilt. He couldn't save Aprita because Aarti needed him. He saved the living, breathing Aarti but he certainly wasn't ready to let go of Aprita. Fate seems to have forced his hand.
Could Aarti have gotten under or around the burning pole herself? Well... yes but she was scared (and quite frankly having been in a couple of fires myself I get that.) Fire is very seductive and extremely dangerous and she should have been scared. After a large fire you give up a lot but you have to be willing to let it go and he wasn't.
And now for the final question... Why did he destroy Aprita's things in Bhopal?
I'm sure the creatives will build up a better response than this but here goes...
Because he's afraid and feels guilty. He hesitated between saving Aarti or Aprita's things. That has to be hard for someone who is as upright a guy as he is. How do you hesitate between the living and a thing? How could he let his shrine to Aprita go? There is something almost blasphemous about the burning of his perfect life. The one that was frozen for all time in those photos (and because of what burned in Mumbai is no longer complete). Now what does he have?
I know maybe I'm thinking to hard but this is what I came up with.

Great post! I agree. Aarti was looking for things she herself may have had a fault in, and since the fire incident wasn't her fault, she didn't bother thinking about it.
