Mumbai, May 14 -- After filmmaker Karan Johar joined the judges panel with actor Madhuri Dixit and choreographer-director Remo D'souza, the new season of Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa 5 (JDJ) on Colors is all set to attract big names from the celeb world.

Though many names have been tossed around, it's confirmed that ghazal singer Talat Aziz has been signed on. He says, "I am looking forward to the rigorous rehearsals with my choreographer. And just like with music, I am going to immerse myself in learning this new art."

Among the other names being considered for the TV dance competition, Sri Lankan former cricket captain Sanath Jayasuriya tops the list of celebrities who have already been approached.

TV stars Gurmeet Choudhary and Jiaa Manek are on the shortlist but have not been signed on yet.

Exclusive: Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 list out, cricketer Jayasuriya in squad too

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is all set for its fifth season but this time on Colors. There have been many speculations about the contestants, host and judges of the show. Some said Rekha will join Madhuri and Kavita Kaushik will be hosting the show. But now, all the rumours can rest in peace as we at DailyBhaskar.com give you the final list of the show.

As per close sources from the show, "The twelve finalists include people from different fields. The list goes on as Gia Manek, Meghna Malik, Gurmeet Choudhary, Bharti Singh, Manish Paul, Avika Gor, Hina Khan, Esha Sherwani, Darsheel Safari, Karan V.Grover, Sanath Jayasuriya, Pratyusha Banerjee." Sanath Jayasuriya is a left-handed Sri Lankan batsman. The cricketer is known for his smashing sixes and fours and for the first time he will shake his leg on the Indian television. It will be an interesting watch for all his fans to see him in a new avatar on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.

Out of these contestants; Gurmeet Chaudhary has already started the rehearsals. The judges for the show are Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar and Remo D'Souza from Dance India Dance.

Well, it's time to see the Cricketer compete with an array of television celebrity.

I think we need to wait until we hear from a reliable source, like maybe Gurmeet himself, before jumping to conclusions! The media has been advertising the fact that GC is going to be a part of JDJ5 for weeks now, but when Eva finally got a chance to talk to him one on one, we realized that he was shortlisted but hadn't officially signed on, so I wouldn't go around trusting all these articles until something solid/trustworthy confirms it! And honestly, I'll be happy for him whether he does the show or he doesn't, but this is like the 6th thread today alone about his participation/non-participation and it's getting old quickly! This way when the real thing ends up coming out it will lead another storm of confusion!

Yea, you're right we should wait for gurmeet himself to clear our confusion. And I'm sorry to sound repetitive but actually I just joined IF today and didn't know that there were six articles already related to this. I'm just starting to learn all the things related to IF so sorry again.
