Part two
"Bhabhi! Ab toh aap hi bataayiye na mujhe Paridi se milna hai.. koi rasta hai aapke paas?"
Prateek sighed as he followed his bhabhi.
"Hai na.. tum abhi jaake millo usse! Ye le, pehle zara chakh ke bataa kaisi hai!" Aarthi offered the pudding.
"Wow! Bhabhi banaye aur acha na ho.. kaise ho saktha hai!"
Aarthi smiled. She was finally settled in this beautiful pariwaar that showered so much of love and affection that she had almost let go of her painful past. Almost, for the sake of her new family.
"Chadha rahe ho mujhe.. acha aaj Payal ka janamdin hai! Yaad hai na?"
"Yeah," Pratheek smiled, "how can I forget that! And I promised you to help in the kitchen.. paridi se baad mein miloonga!"
"Oh! I can handle this.. aaj main khud apni angel kelliye khud apni haathon se khana banana chahthi hoon! Isiliye Ramdulari ko chutti dedi! Just go!" Aarthi pushed him out.

Prathiek walked into the hall and bumped into his bro.
"Kya baat hai chote! Udaas ho?" Yash asked him.
"Of course bhai! Paridi.. I miss her!"
Yash rolled his eyes, "abhi jaao na! Go and meet her!"
"Naah! Pehle bhabhi ki madad karna hai phir kuch aur! Maine unhe promise kia tha!" Pratheek grimaced a bit.
* flash back *
That night, Yash was terribly late. Sharma ji's shaadi preparations took longer time than expected. It was almost half past eleven in the night, the hall was dark, the occupants of Sindhiya house were busy snoring in their beds.
"Aapne bahut der karli!"
Yash was startled to hear Aarthi's voice.
"Woh Aarthi, avtually.. "
"Aap Payal keliye gify laye kya?"
Yash's eyes widened, "god! How can I! I'm such an idiot! Apni hi beti ki .. Ab mera zinda rehne ka kya faida.. Main mar- "
Aarthi silenced him swiftly placing her palm over his mouth, "aisa math kahiye! Galthiya toh sab se hothi hai! Yash ji aapke bina Payal ka kya hoga. . Payal, Ansh! aur mera kya hoga.. " she mumbled the last word and he smiled slightly. The jhansi ki rani sure had a tender heart. She was sensitive to people around her, she got easily effected by things and he wanted her to be happy. She enjoyed their banters and he couldn't ask for anything more than her radiant smile. It wasn't like he was attracted to her or something. But he wanted her to be happy, to forget her painful past. After so much of internal struggle, he was slowly coming out of those sad memories and he wanted her to follow him.
"Sorry.. " Yash mumbled.
"Koi baat nahi.. aapko vaise aadat hogayi hogi! Saari cheezein bigaadne ki.. "
He smiled, phir shuru hogayi!
"Aur maine kithne baar phone kiya.. uthaathe nahi hai! Phone toh uthaasakthe hai na ! Acha hua maine pehle se cake banaakar rakhdiya- " Aarthi went on.
"Cake banaliya?" Yash piped in.
"Yeah, oh! Its about time.. chaliye chaliye! Baarah bajne wale hai!" Aarthi rushed into their bedroom.
Yash followed her. They pulled Payal out of sleep. Ansh, Palak, Aarthi began singing.
"Happe birthday to you Payal! Happee birthday happy birthday happybirthday to you.. "
A billion watt smile appeared on the girl's face, Payal rushed to hug her mom. Yash's heart swelled with joy. How can he pay back Aarthi who was becoming their light of happiness!
* End of flashback *
Yash smiled at the last night's memory. If Aarthi could do so much, then surely he can help her too!
"Paridi.. yar, ab bhabhi ne jo list diya! Woh kaha hai.. ah milgaya!"
"Chote!" Pratheek looked up at Yash, "give the list! Tum jaao, I'll help Aarthi.. "
"Aap?" Pratheek smiled evilly, "aap kitchen mein kaam karoge?"
"Yes, ab list do!" Yash replied, "har vakht tum hi bhabhi ki madad karoge kya?"
Pratheek giggled.
Yash sighed, "acha math do!"
"Ye le bhai.. aapke kitchen ka romance main thodi na barbaad karoonga.. hmm? Enjoy!" Pratheek teased.
Yash made a face, "well, Vidhi bhabhi can help her! Bhabhi!"
Pratheek panicked and ran after Yash who walked into his bhabhi's room.
"Vidhi bhabhi.. aaj aap aarthi ki madad kijiye na kitchen mein!" Yash asked her.
Pratheek was waving his hands at his badi bhabhi, "nahi! Don't help Aarthi bhabhi!" he mouthed.
"Kya hai? Well, I can.. " Vidhi was confused.
Pratheek banged his head, "kaya bhabhi.. aap aaj shopping jaanewali thi! Kya gift layi hai aap Payal keliye! Bhool gayyi?! hmmm.. "
Vidhi got the hint and nodded, "haa.. I'm sorry devar ji.. Hume shopping jaana hai!"
Yash grimaced, "maa se poochlethe hai!"
He began walking towards his mom's kamra when Pratheek yelled, "maa aur bhabhi jaaane wale the! I'll go to meet paridi! Ramdulari chutti pe hai toh.. I guess ab aap hi ko.. "
Yash glared at his brother but shook his head. What's wrong in helping Aarthi with the lunch! After all it was Payal's birthday.
~ In the kitchen
"Acha hua tum aagaye!" Aarthi's voice reached him from the other corner of the room.
Yash peeped in to see that she was rummaging through the refrigerator.
"Vaise main khud tumhe bulaane aanewaali thi! Ab sabjiyan wahan hai, unhe wash karo.. aur kaatna shuru karo! Aur haan! Zyaada mirch math kaatna, varna aapke bhai ro padenge!"
Yash sniggered at this and cleared his throat, Aarthi was still searching for something, her back facing him.
"Tumhe yaad hai Pratheek, pehli baar jab maine Dum- aaloo banaya tha! Oh god! Tumhare Yash bhayya ka chehra dekhna tha! Priceless! Lovely! Unki aankhein laal hogayi thi.. rorahe the bichare.. Mujhe unka aisa haal dekha nahi jaatha! Kahee na kahee .. Mujhe laga voh mujhpe chillaynge! Par unhone kuch nahi kaha! Jithne Amrishpuri ki tarah serious lagthe hai, uthna hai nahi.. asal mein ache dilwale hai!"
God! Someone stop her! Kithni bolthi hai, Yash waited as she continued.
"Ab unke saath aisa karthe hue maza toh aayega lekin- " Aarthi froze as she turned around.
Yash was sending a cold glare and she bit her lip. Her eyes were innocently looking back at him, he could help but smile a bit. She was the mother of three kids, but acted like a kid herself! God!
"I'm sorry!"
Yash supressed a smile, he wasn't mad at her, surprisingly, "tum bhabhi devar ko har vakhth mujhe chedne ke alava koi kaam hai bhi?"
Aarthi took a breath of relief seeing he wasn't angry. Dil ke ache hai!

Payal fell down, her head was bleeding. Bua blames Aarthi.
"Kaun is ladki ko bardaash karega.. ise kuch nahi aatha! Pyar toh door ki baath hai.. yeh to Payal ko sambhal nahi sakthi! Isilye pehla pathi margaya h- "
"Bas! Aarthi ithni achi hai ki koi bhi usse pyar karsaktha hai!"
Pratheek smiled. Yash bhaiya toh gayye!
