Hi Everyone!!!
Welcome to the Punar Vivaah - Ek Nayi Umeed analysis thread.

This is a daily thread that will be opened after each episode and will serve as a discussion space for those who wish to explore and discuss the show at the level of characterization, plot, and symbolism.

Please note that the main forum will continue to be a place for sharing news and views of all kinds. This thread is for people to primarily engage in the analysis of the episodes rather than just their description. In other words, we are not so concerned with what happened as much as with the how, the why and its place to the rest of the plot.

I would like to invite all PV-ENU enthusiasts to participate and share their thoughts and ideas, with an emphasis on analysis and moving beyond the i-love-this, or i-cant-stand-this type of comments.

The usual forum rules apply with respect to decency, fairness, and decorum. Please be respectful of other people and their opinions at all times as we would like a healthy environment that promotes creativity and sharing. Also, please refrain from discussing the actors' personal lives as we only want to talk about their characters in this show.

Please help this thread thrive through your participation and cooperation.

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions please do not hesitate to PM me.

Happy debating!

Today's Episode:
Phool aur Kante - this is the theme of today's episode with respect to the characters. Phool represents their optimism and the kaante are the obstacles they face.
  • For Sarita, Abhi and Vikrant are her phool, her in-laws the kaante
  • For Divya, her belief and determination plus the support of Sarita and her in-laws are her phool; Raj's crazy ideas and his unrealistic expectations her kaante
  • Sheila used to be a phool, but now is a full-fledge kaanta in Rohan's life in the guise of a phool
How long can their optimism give them success?

Hmmm...looks like Mr. Suryavanshi is a goner, or will soon be anyway. He is so enamored by Sarita that his suspicion doesn't even come into the picture. I am amazed at the way he changes his Akdu expression to a teasing one, and so is Sarita. She knows he is changing, but she is unprepared for the rate at which it is happening. She cannot believe this man has a sense of humor and is capable of catching her off guard, but admits she likes it. But Sarita doesn't stay down long; when he asks her what she's thinking, she hesitates only slightly before she goes on the offense. To me, this signifies that though she trusts Vikrant on some level, she is still quite insecure when it comes to her position as his wife. I love how she turns the tables on him and leaves him stammering.
Sarita gave herself away when she said she wouldn't leave him so easily. Yes, she uses the excuse of duty and commitment, but I like to think that she has quickly become used to being his wife and does not want to give that up so easily. Whether it is because of her feelings or her new-found self-confidence, who knows? I can clearly see that she has butterflies in her stomach, that heady feeling of spinning out of control when there is (new) romance brewing. She labels him a badmaash bachcha, she thinks she is mothering him, but is also starting to notice him as a man, her man.

I liked the irony when Vikrant tells Sarita that if you want to run away with someone, you can. I will be free of your nagging. I wonder if this will haunt him later when he finds out about the elopement plans. Would it make him introspect and wish he'd never made light of it, or would he be furious that she has been playing him all along?
After all, he has yet to tell Sarita how he feels about her and what she means to him. I don't blame him, because he himself is trying to figure it out. I hope his discovery of Raj's plans does not come at the time he decides to confess his feelings. That would break his heart and could turn him back to Mr. Akdu. I don't think he will throw her out because he cares about Abhi, but he will find it very hard to live with her in peace under one roof. Please CVs, give us a Devdas Vikrant!!! Mmm...popcorn entertainment for Jahnvi's family.
The under the table scene where Sarita does not hesitate to pull his head forward, and their playfulness shows growing comfort and camaraderie between the two. I have to admit, that I prefer the Jeene laga hoon theme on them. It is just perfect for the situation Vikrant's heart finds itself in and his puppy-dog look. I think they are both far from being in love, though.
Sarita has yet to fall off the pedestal on which Vikrant has placed her (in terms of her secret being out), and it remains to be seen whether he can still accept and love her with her 'faults'. Vikrant may have taken advantage of her in order to get married, but he has always been honest with her about his intentions. One thing I keep remembering is what the matchmaker and Vandana said about Vikrant being dangerous on a completely different level altogether. Are we going to see this side of him? Does it have something to do with Jahnvi? 😲
On a side note, Sarita is talking to his picture - another favorite of our CVs.
Raj, what is wrong with him?!! 😡 Doesn't it bother him that Divya and his family are so trusting? We know that Divya knows the truth, but he doesn't. I really hope his planning isn't going to hurt anyone in his family. Instead of appreciating Divya's "sacrifice" he wants to seize this opportunity to postpone the wedding. Will she really succeed in making him feel guilty?
The precap was interesting - I love how Vikrant doesn't waste time in expressing himself, whether it is anger, happiness, or remorse. It is quite clear that his guilt is bothering him, and true to what he said early on, he will not wait 10 years before expressing himself. I am glad he gets straight to the point, and I love the vulnerability that is clearly visible on his face when Sarita says she doesn't hate him. At least he has something to work with in order to take this relationship further. The point is, though, that Rohan put this idea forward possibly in an attempt to create a rift between them, but will it succeed later on? Is it part of his and Vandana's scheming?

It will be hard to write anything, as i am dreaming... what a dreamy episode? Loved all VISA scenes. PC is acting good as Divya.

First scene VISA teasing each other was tooo good. They are both bold and are not afraid of each other. A deadly combination. So Sarita is melting as well. She started liking Vikrant and wants him as husband down the road. She might no be comfortable physically but she is liking him around. It is more of being wanted finally. Abhi and Vikrant both make her feel needed. She know she is important to them. She is not a furniture anymore but someone on whom Abhi and Vikrant count on, for their needs. Her Husband finally looks at her like man and she feels like a women. So enjoying all that.

As for Vikrant he too was without a women in the house who cared, He is attracted towards her and has a huge crush. His guilt which we will see tomorrow is what is stopping him. I am glad that he will say sorry. But now if Sarita hold the truth back she will be in huge trouble. I love jeenyie laga hoon song on them. It is more Vikrant feelings and Sarita is just happy that she is needed.

Raj please use your brain. He is in lalal land for sure.

Something is going to happen regarding Vandhana and Rohan. Vandhana told Sarita to stay away from Rohan issues so mean she wont and Vandhana might do something big this time. She might find out about the whole game plan and use it against Sarita.

Anything is possible. I like Vikrant for that he is all clear in his feelings, he even will say sorry tomorrow. I wish Sarita learns something from him and shares herself. I guess this is what the lesson would be for Sarita after this whole dubaie drama to share and to be honest with her better half and she cant solve everything herself.😃

Vikrant and Sarita - Loved how the Cv's turned it around and made it a fun banter between the both of them causing them to think about what they mean to each other and acknowledging the feeling that they have to a certain extent (a part of me was hoping that Abhi would come in between and say "Mama, have you delivered my "parcel"(read:hug) to Daddy - I still want that hug to happen). And I liked how they went about showing the after effects of the conversation and the song fits them perfectly.
Raj- Divya: I am still rather confused with their characters in the sense that I feel like there are up to something (at least that's the vibe I got yesterday) but today was different. Raj is such a confused soul (and Karan does an amazing job portraying that) and I am looking forward to seeing how that confusion clears up. I like the fact that Divya hints at Raj with the knowledge of knowing what his plans are (e.g: what would you do if you had an "offer" on the day of the wedding - would you leave me or not? kind of thing). And I liked that there was quite a bit of focus on them today rather than just a touch-and go scene.

Sarita-Vandana - I like the fact that Sarita says what she thinks right to Vandana's face. I wonder how Rohan is going to play into all this - because their conversation seemed to indicate that it will.

Precap - The one thing that was holding Vikrant back in getting closer to Sarita is going to be cleared. However, now the ball is in Sarita's court and if and when Vikrant finds out about it (which he will - not through Sarita (although that's what we hope for)), there will be hell to pay.

I mentioned this a couple of weeks back, just a hunch... that just as Vikrant is about to confess his feelings to sarita, he might uncover the fake elopement plan. Which might push him back into a shell of self protection. Now sarita might have to work extra hard to gain the trust, all the while, unbeknownst to him, she falls in love.
It will be a new start again for them...without any misunderstandings and notions of guilt. They might start on a clean slate! Hope I made sense!
😕

Anyway, too sleepy to comment on the entire epi. Sorry!
@inlieu...As always, thorouh analysis, dear! Love all your posts! 😊

Cheers!
