Today's Episode:
Phool aur Kante - this is the theme of today's episode with respect to the characters. Phool represents their optimism and the kaante are the obstacles they face.
- For Sarita, Abhi and Vikrant are her phool, her in-laws the kaante
- For Divya, her belief and determination plus the support of Sarita and her in-laws are her phool; Raj's crazy ideas and his unrealistic expectations her kaante
- Sheila used to be a phool, but now is a full-fledge kaanta in Rohan's life in the guise of a phool
How long can their optimism give them success?
Hmmm...looks like Mr. Suryavanshi is a goner, or will soon be anyway. He is so enamored by Sarita that his suspicion doesn't even come into the picture. I am amazed at the way he changes his Akdu expression to a teasing one, and so is Sarita. She knows he is changing, but she is unprepared for the rate at which it is happening. She cannot believe this man has a sense of humor and is capable of catching her off guard, but admits she likes it. But Sarita doesn't stay down long; when he asks her what she's thinking, she hesitates only slightly before she goes on the offense. To me, this signifies that though she trusts Vikrant on some level, she is still quite insecure when it comes to her position as his wife. I love how she turns the tables on him and leaves him stammering.
Sarita gave herself away when she said she wouldn't leave him so easily. Yes, she uses the excuse of duty and commitment, but I like to think that she has quickly become used to being his wife and does not want to give that up so easily. Whether it is because of her feelings or her new-found self-confidence, who knows? I can clearly see that she has butterflies in her stomach, that heady feeling of spinning out of control when there is (new) romance brewing. She labels him a badmaash bachcha, she thinks she is mothering him, but is also starting to notice him as a man, her man.
I liked the irony when Vikrant tells Sarita that if you want to run away with someone, you can. I will be free of your nagging. I wonder if this will haunt him later when he finds out about the elopement plans. Would it make him introspect and wish he'd never made light of it, or would he be furious that she has been playing him all along?
After all, he has yet to tell Sarita how he feels about her and what she means to him. I don't blame him, because he himself is trying to figure it out. I hope his discovery of Raj's plans does not come at the time he decides to confess his feelings. That would break his heart and could turn him back to Mr. Akdu. I don't think he will throw her out because he cares about Abhi, but he will find it very hard to live with her in peace under one roof. Please CVs, give us a Devdas Vikrant!!! Mmm...popcorn entertainment for Jahnvi's family.
The under the table scene where Sarita does not hesitate to pull his head forward, and their playfulness shows growing comfort and camaraderie between the two. I have to admit, that I prefer the Jeene laga hoon theme on them. It is just perfect for the situation Vikrant's heart finds itself in and his puppy-dog look. I think they are both far from being in love, though.
Sarita has yet to fall off the pedestal on which Vikrant has placed her (in terms of her secret being out), and it remains to be seen whether he can still accept and love her with her 'faults'. Vikrant may have taken advantage of her in order to get married, but he has always been honest with her about his intentions. One thing I keep remembering is what the matchmaker and Vandana said about Vikrant being dangerous on a completely different level altogether. Are we going to see this side of him? Does it have something to do with Jahnvi? 😲
On a side note, Sarita is talking to his picture - another favorite of our CVs.
Raj, what is wrong with him?!! 😡 Doesn't it bother him that Divya and his family are so trusting? We know that Divya knows the truth, but he doesn't. I really hope his planning isn't going to hurt anyone in his family. Instead of appreciating Divya's "sacrifice" he wants to seize this opportunity to postpone the wedding. Will she really succeed in making him feel guilty?
The precap was interesting - I love how Vikrant doesn't waste time in expressing himself, whether it is anger, happiness, or remorse. It is quite clear that his guilt is bothering him, and true to what he said early on, he will not wait 10 years before expressing himself. I am glad he gets straight to the point, and I love the vulnerability that is clearly visible on his face when Sarita says she doesn't hate him. At least he has something to work with in order to take this relationship further. The point is, though, that Rohan put this idea forward possibly in an attempt to create a rift between them, but will it succeed later on? Is it part of his and Vandana's scheming?
