First I have to say this...today my head was chakarophying (spiining) due to the number of circles that the camera was making around Divya and Raj. I can't understand why in hindi shows they make the camera go round and round.

Now coming to Raj and Divya's conversation...Divya was right in telling him that Sarita is his responsibility and that Raj should have ended whatever emotional links that he had with Divya before he decided to get married. To me she implied that one cannot travel in two boats at the same time...because then it only ends in disaster...which it did both for him and for Sarita. She told him that he was not living but survivng in this messed up situation. Then her saying that since Raj was honest towards his responsibilities to his family business then why couldn't give that same respect to Sarita?... But inorder to fulfill those famiy responsibilties Raj's life has been redused to that of someone who deals with scraps from one who used to live in the world of art...so if he just continues with this marriage because it is his responsibilty and if he refuses to put a closure to his past, then what will this marriage be reduced to? Is marriage only about responsibilities or is it much more than that? That made me wonder that Divya fulfilled all her responsibilites towards her family by looking after her siblings to the best of her ability...she probably will also fulfill her responsibilities towards Gaurav (if she marries him) but she has also not stopped loving Raj and nor has she got her closure...so is she aware that few years after marriage Gaurav's condition mght be similar to that of Sarita's? I am not saying that Divya will abuse Guarav but if she does not put a closure to her relationship with Raj, then Gaurav will have to live knowing that he is Divya's second choice and that this relationship might be a compromise...and that can eat up anyone from inside.
Regarding Raj...when his emotions are triggered he does not realise that his actions are hurting someone. Today he was squeezing Divya's arms and he did not realise that he was hurtng...and when Divya told him, he retaliated that her hurt is nothing compared to his. The same thing happened with Sarita too...he did not realise that his neglect and silence that are reactions of his hurt or anger that Divya left him are actually hurting Sarita. To him he provided her shelter and food and that is enough. Then him saying that he always felt guilty regarding the way he had treated Sarita...but then why didn't he put an end to all the abuse. If he had protested his mother would not have done it...but then seeing how his dadi treats his mother most probably he thought that this was normal and not abuse? I was shaking my head when he said that him and Sarita have one thing in their marriage and that was honesty...really? So did he tell Sarita everything before marriage and that if she marries him then he will not accept her as his wife. If they were so honest with each other then does that mean that he knows Sarita inside out? I am not saying that he has no right to be angry with Divya,...he has because Divya did play with his emtoions but all his dialogues today implied that how lost he really is. It is true that Divya had no right to emotionally manipulate him but someone had to make him stop behaving like an ostrich. I wish that Divya had done it openly and had been upfront with him as she had intially intended and did not become so guilty that she went against her nature and emotionally hoodwink Raj.
There was another character who deserves a mention today. She has a very foul mouth...she abuses her daughter-in-law but she is so caught up in her delusional world that she does not even realise that she is her own worst enemy. Divya said that she does not have any self-respect and it is true that she does not because if she had any, then she wouldn't have been behavng in such an abusive manner towards Sarita. As you have guessed I am talking about Kamla. She is ready to do anything and to fall to any level so that she gets her husband's attention. She knows that her huband is greedy and hence in order to be in his good books and get his attention she is hatching a plan to make Divya the second wife of Raj.She herself has been abused by her huband and her MIL. I do remember her MIL making fun of her and abusing her verbally when Raj did not arrive for his wedding with Sarita. It was quite telling when she mutters to herself that she has to convince Divya to marry Raj. Then when she enters Divya's room she completely ignores the fact that Divya is packing her clothes and that it implies that she is leaving. Its only when Divya blasts her that she realises that Divya is leaving. Her delusions do keep her away from reality. Then what has been done to her, Kamla wants to repeat the same thing to Sarita...the cycle of abuse does continue because maybe to them this is norma.Girls are meant to keep their husbands happy and if they can't do that then they will have to adjust sharing their husband's with whoever takes his fantasy. She knows that after Divya arrived Raj has changed and thats why she wants Divya to stay...but then being in her own delusional world she does not even think that why is it that after Divya arrived Raj is happy? Is there some link? Won't any normal people think about it. Then when she rushes to Sohanlal's room, she brokenly says that Divya will not let herself to be the second Sundari and nor will she let Sarita be the second Kamla...wonder if this is what might make her rethink or will she still continue to live in this delusional world...since this is a safe place because this is the only world that she knows of. There was one more diialgue of Kamla's that struck me today...when Divya blasted her saying that whether she is on her senses...Kamla like a child replied that why ? Because Raj's father has recently been telling her that nowadays she is speaking or talking about right things. Her world does revolve around her husband...for whom she is ready to do anything to get his attention...for whom she is ready to fall to any level and whose words she blindly follows. Truthfully Kamla is not much different from Sarita...who again to get her husband's attention is ready to fall to any level...and who too is so scared regarding loosing her husband that she is still not telling him the truth that although it is true that Divya did emotionally manipulate him but it was Sarita who brought Divya so that she can get her husband's love. I don't know whether they will show that tommorow or not, but when she was telling Divya that it is not all her fault and that it was she who brought Divya to this house...I was wondering whether she will have the courage to tell Raj this truth? It was good that she told Divya that it is not all her fault but telling Raj is something different. Now coming to Kamla...she most probably accepted Sundari because that is what Sohanlal wanted...in the same way Sarita is also says yes to her remarriage because that is what Raj wants. I know that Kamla's MIL told her that Sunadri has entered this house because she let her enter...but based on what they have showed of Sohanlal...did Sohanlal really give her the freedom to say no ? In the same way Raj has decided that he has to set things right for Sarita and his solution is to get her remarried...but did he ever think about asking Sarita for her POV?

Coming to acting...its the actress playing Kamla, Rubina and Karan for me today.

Misti, today my views are totally same as yours about all three characters. Despite all that camera zooming that only ended when Raj and Divya's scene finished, I liked today's episode. If they had shown these kinds of emotions of Raj and Divya before along with a proper back story, viewers would have connected to them from the very beginning.

I have to go with acting first. Karan, Rubina and Sangeeta Panwar (Kamla) were fabulous today. I cannot choose one performance over the other as all three were really good. Sangeeta had the most variation in scenes where her scenes went from comic relief to innocent delusion (Kamla and Divya scene) and then to stunned realization. Sangeeta is really good and I hope she is utilized properly in this show. I also like Kamla's character even though she is foul mouth and abusive. Her character is complex and she invokes sympathy despite her behavior.

Character wise, all three characters - Sarita, Raj and Divya are damaged. Today was Raj and Divya's episode with all emotions flowing freely. Raj felt betrayed because the betrayal was done by the one whom he had trusted and loved the most and it was done by using his feelings. Divya's initial plan to be honest with him was one that was needed. But I doubt that he would have listened to her even then.

Divya gave him some truths he needed to hear badly even though she was only partially right. He cannot absolve himself of not having a relationship just because he thinks he was manipulated into marrying Sarita. Regardless of his reasons and youth (a boy of 18-20 is not mature enough to make a right decision), he did choose to marry Sarita. So Divya was right that their relationship ended when he married another woman. Just acting like an ostrich and thinking that the marriage was meant for society, family and Sarita doesn't mean that he shares no responsibilities. Also, Divya was right that he was not living.

But she was also very wrong when she asked him to make peace with his marriage just as he has made peace with a different career. Divya herself is like that where she goes for responsibilities. Yes, one should take care of their responsibilities, but that does not mean that one should give away their passion. Raj did not get by giving up his passion for art and instead taking up something mundane. People just exist when they do something they dislike. Same is with his marriage. Yes, he needed to take care of Sarita when he married her. Either he needed to be honest with her prior to the marriage or had to take care of her after marriage or should have set her free long time ago. But still wasting 10 years of his life and Sarita's life does not mean that they need to stick together now. If this relationship is going to be hollow, it is better that they leave it right now even if 10 years were wasted. Nobody can force their feelings for another person.

Divya said that since he gave those vachans, he is bound by them. He is but if both are going to be miserable, isn't it better that they move out of this relationship and look for happiness outside this relationship.

Raj is a complete ostrich, but he probably likes to live in this world because it has become his comfort zone. Just as Sarita doesn't know him, he doesn't know her either when he thinks that she is incapable of lying to him. He has seen her desperation when she tried to seduce him. So what makes him think that it was all Divya. Again, the betrayal from Divya is greater because she is the one for whom he has waited for so long. Sarita is the one whom he had wronged. So her lies are nothing in front of what he has done to her (in his mind).

Then there is Divya who unlike Raj makes peace with the circumstances. But everything in last 10 years and now has been responsibility for her. She left Raj because she had to fulfill her responsibilities. She is marrying Gaurav because she wants to give assurance to her siblings who want to see her setlled after all the sacrifices she has made for them. She too is very emotionally damaged because she has not processed anything so far that has happened to her in last 10 years - losing her parents and Raj. So her marrying Gaurav is wrong for all the reasons you have mentioned Misti. Yes, Gaurav is going with open eyes in this relationship but he has not encountered the reality. Couple of times he saw Raj and Divya's intense feelings for each other, he got thoroughly unsettled. How will he cope up with all this after marriage. Divya will be physically with him, but emotionally she has not moved on. So he too will get messed up in the long run. So it is better that he and Divya remain friends for now. Divya also needs to get a proper closure but she will only get that if she is not in any relationship that demands anything of her.

Sarita's world continues to revolve around Raj. She is thinking highly of Divya because Divya has now proved herself once again especially today as Divya was not aware of Sarita's presence. In a sense, Sarita is understanding Divya's pain, but still is involved with her own feelings. Otherwise, she would not have asked her to stay. On one hand, she was apologizing for bringing Divya here, but then she was disconcerted at Divya's decision to go back.

Finally, there is Kamla for whom I really felt sorry today. For last few weeks (even before Sohan Lal came back after the leap), I have seen similarities between her and Sarita. Sarita is a younger version of Kamla. The style is different but both have shared almost same type of circumstances and both share the same value system. Both are conditioned (either willingly or because of upbringing) that a woman's worth is measured by how she keeps the man to herself. Both take out their frustations on the one whom they perceive as non-retaliatory. So it is Divya for Sarita and Sarita for Kamla. Both prefer to live in delusional world because it keeps them sane. Don't want to write much about Kamla as you have written everything except to say that Dadi has a lot to answer about her behavior. On one hand, she praises Sarita (only after Sarita has silenced Kamla) while ignoring her own abusive behavior towards Kamla. She was making fun of Kamla publicly before Sarita came into their life and she was totally silent and had no reaction when Sohan Lal threatened to beat up Kamla. Neither was she concerned that Raj was being forced to marry Sarita. Even the day Raj came to ask for her health, she taunted him first rather than just thanking him for asking about her. Even with her own son (as bad as he is), she is sarcastic and her own interests come first. She hates Sundari because Sohan Lal doesn't give her (Dadi) any importance.

But Kamla interested me in the last scene where she was sitting stunned at the realization that she and Sarita are actually very same. Will this create empathy for Sarita in her mind or will she go back to her old behavior? Her actions of bringing Divya are not only to get Sohan Lal's attention, but also because she genuinely wants Raj to be happy. So far she doesn't know or because of self-absorption cannot figure out that Divya is the one whom Raj has loved all along. Will she revert back to trying to get Divya back in the house when she finds out that Raj and Divya do love each other or will she now try to get Sarita her rights.

I feel that she needed Divya to tell her this truth as Divya is the one with whom she connects. Divya is her dream type of daughter-in-law - soft spoken, gentle and diplomatic. Sarita is too much like her. So while she would defensive with people like Dadi who actually took pleasure in telling her that Sohan's behavior was her fault or people like her gossipy tenant ,she actually listened to Divya. With Divya, her defenses did not rise up because she knows that Divya is not saying anything out of malice.

In the end, Divya made the right decision to leave this house. But will she be able to do it before Gaurav comes or will these other interested parties make her stay back?

@ Misti
Wonderful and detailed post. You have brought out their characters and helplessness very well.

@Angie Nice response and great points raised.

I too liked everyone today getting a wake up call, thanks to Divya's outburst. Her emotions were well portrayed, and had the force of a thunderstorm that washes away all debris, and exposes truths hidden behind convenient masks that people have worn for so long that it feels as real as their own skin. I am also fascinated with Kamala's character. She is a great actress.

If Sarita is like Kamala, Raj is also much more like his father than he would like to admit. Like Sohanlal, but in a different context, he did not think it necessary to give any explanation to his wife about his behavior towards her. Like Misti, I too had an "eye rolling" moment when Raj declared that there was nothing hidden between him and his wife in the last ten years. It is interesting that Raj did not even know Sarita, or acknowledge her existence as a person, let alone a spouse. And now all of a sudden, they are a couple with nothing hidden between them? Either Raj feels more for Sarita than he would like to admit, or he is la-la land of denial as Misti observed.

I want Divya to run out of this madhouse as soon as possible, but alas while that is the sane possibility in the real world, the reel world might dictate that perhaps circumstances would force her to prolong her visit. I wonder what those might be, and whether Divya gets enticed to help in Sarita's PV. It will be interesting to wait and see how all this unfurls.

Thanks Angie. I don't have to add to anything that you have written.Regarding Divya leaving, for her own mental health I hope she does leave but how will they get melodrama/drama if Divya is out of the house? Today she did say strongly that she will not become Sundari and nor will she let Sarita be Kamla but who knows what's there in the future? If she gets tangled up in her emotions and she lets her emotions rule her decisions, then her life might also get reduced to a scrapyard.

Yes divya won't leav so quickly as she has to stay to make the story become more dramatic
Loved the way Divya told off Kamla
And Raj he is a very complex person
One second is does not even know sarita exists next second there is nothin hidden between husband and wife
So now he will have feelings for Sarita?

Poor kamla she had it coming to her lets see if her behavior towards Sarita changes or not

As always very well said Misty this ENU is becoming more complex

Misti, good post..enjoyed reading it every time!
I liked the epi, the three actors u mentioned are really good...
About divya, i wished she would have told raj she doesnt want to b the other woman and not to kamla, as that lady i am sure she didnt registred the gravity of her saying, i would have loved to see raj reaction!!
Kamla, seriously felt bad for the woman, dropping so low to negotiate her time with her husband, that means he's only with that sundari and she's willing to share him like that... 🤢
Hopefully divya stays away from that house, if she ever ends up with Raj..
