Irfan, who plays the character of Mohammad Ghori in Prithviraj Chauhan, has been nominated in the Favourite Khalnayak category for the Star Parivaar Awards.
"Getting nominated is obviously a very good thing but in reality, winning or losing really does not matter to me. I am a professional and like to do my job and let my acting speak for myself," says Irfan.
About the Star Parivaar Awards, Irfan says, "On a personal note I would like to win the critics choice award rather than the popular choice one. It's not that I am against the voting system. it's just that I feel the critics choice award is the one which is judged by people who are from the same fraternity and who are aware about what good acting is all about. Popular awards are based on the votes given by the people. Sometimes it does happen that people get carried away with their personal preferences and keep on voting for their favourite stars even if there is someone who is more deserving. So I myself request my fans that if they want to vote for me just vote for me once and only if they think that I am more deserving than other people."
Irfan signs off saying, "Let the deserving person win - whether it is the Critics choice or the popular choice."
