Eloping in any age and time is cowardice. That was not a very smart thing to do for a princess and a king. They had to think over the results of their actions. This could have been a marriage that could have united the kingdom of India but it tore it apart with wars and led to Prithvis death and downfall.

Okay now I come in !! 😛

Since most of u support Sanyo, I am opposing 😉

Well while I maintain tht marrying a person whom u love is not wrong at all.. 👍🏼 but there is a right way of doing everything. 🤓 The means is more important than the end. Sanyo was madly in love with Prithvi but she need not have adopted the drastic measure of eloping, making her father lose face and ultimately leading to the downfall of Delhi

Sanyo could have done the following.

1> Talk to her father herself. Since history says tht Jaichand was a loving and reasonable father there is every possibility that he would have agreed.

2>Mailed Prithvi to officially approach her papa with a proposal. If he loved her enough he would have done that.

I can state and support my stand that Sanyos elopement was the singular act that led to a permanent rift between Kannauj and Delhi.. She was not any normal gal. as a princess though she had every right to fall in love it is very important for her to have acted with diplomacy and better since.

Sanyo Prithvi union could have led to friendship of kannauj and Delhi and would have made Delhi stronger and would have destroyed Ghori and his intentions but it only made the kingdoms battle and led to Indias downfall.

thts true marryen da person u lov is not rong att all but as u said theres better ways! i am sure haichand wanted sanyos good cuz she was his daughter...buh sanyo didnt understand it she thought he was rong...

Ok here is another fiery topic.....

Was Sanyogita justified in eloping with PRC and defying her father?

I know their love was immortal and all but if you were in this situation would you pick your lover or your father?

Please do not make this into a love debate....this topic is about sanyo being justified.....ok...

Give all of your views and debate professionally....no fighting...spread the love...and the winner of the debate will be decided in a few days...after some good debate!

Enjoy or good luck!

yes i do feel that sanyo was justified in eloping with her love because love makes a person blind and selfish. we find happiness only from being with our lover. all familial relationships seem to take a backseat. this is just one theory and of course it depends from person to person. some people, despite being madly in love with someone, still manage to give equal importance to their family.

in sanyo's case however, her father was getting her married to a complete stranger despite knowing that she was madly in love with someone else. this act of his would

a.) portray her father as a selfish man in front of sanyo's eyes

b.) the separation from prithvi and the possibility of not becoming his wife would increase her love for him even more..because we all know that separation makes the heart grow fonder

marriage is a question of life. its something you truly have to do on the basis of your desires. you can ask a daughter to sacrifice anything for her father but not her love. in fact, i cant believe jaichand himself considered his dignity and ego more important than his daughter's happiness. sanyogita gave him a reality check by eloping with prithvi. and thts why i think it was completely fine for her to elope with prithvi😊

ur point is rite bt it ws not possible for sanyo to ask JC or to prc to put forth the proposal.

1] JC ws not a loving father. I m not saying that he didnt love his daugter. he loved her bt his ego ws more important to him. As my fellow members say that IF JC loved sanyo than why didnt he let her marry her love. Why didnt he call prc in the swayambar??? bt in the first place why did he keep the swayambar??? he cld hv sent a proposal os his and sanyo's marriage.

2] Prithvi cld hv approched JC bt it ws risky for him. JC wanted to kill him and by approaching JC himself he ws gving a chance to him to kill him himself. ya prc ws a brave king. he cld hv killed JC single handedly bt JC had his full army with him. and prc wld hv approached him with a handful of soldiers and secondly it wld hv been disgraceful for him as a king to approach JC. He wld hv asked for sanyo's hand frm his worst enemy which wld hv been equal to bowing his head. And his praja wld hv thought bad of their King.

Sanyo - prc marriage cldn't hv lead to ajmer-kannauj's frndship cz JC wanted delhi badly and he went to every extent possible to get delhi and may b he wld kill prc after their marriage to get delhi. So sanyo-prc elopment ws justified and I m in full support of Sanyo.
