FORTS & MONUMENTS -

The giant fort stands guarding the city. It has six gates. The fort also has Miran Saheb ki Dargha who was the governor of the fort and laid down his life in an encounter. It gives a panoramic view of the city situated in Nagpahari of Aravalli ranges, this fort has immense archaeological and historical importance.

This is a masterpiece of Indo - Islamic architecture. As legend goes its was constructed in two and a-half days (Adhi-Din). It is a relic of an old mosque consisting of a quadrangle with a front screen wall of seven pointed arches. The distinct pillars and arched screen with its ruined minarets make it a splendid

Taragarh fort

It was built in 1345 and is great ramble around at leisure. This is rather a ramshackle fort, with its overgrown vegetation.
The view over the town and surrounding countryside from the top are magical, especially at sun set. Inside the ramparts are huge reservoirs carved out of solid rock, and the Bhim Burj, the largest of the battle-
fields, on which there is mounted a famous cannon. Taragarh is reached by steep road leading up the hillside to its enormous gateway. Take a path up behind the chitra Shala, go east along the inside of the ramparts then left up the steep stone ramp just before the Dudha Mahal, a small disused building 200m from the palace.

Taragarh Fort

The colossal fort stands watching the city. There are six entrance points in the fort. The fort houses Miran-Saheb-ki-Dargah, the governor of the fort who died fighting in an encounter. The fort offers a panoramic view of the city situated in Nagpahari hills of Aravalli ranges. This fort has immeasurable historical and archaeological importance.

Forts of Rajathsan

The rajputs were prolific builders who left behind a legacy of some of the most imposing and magnificent forts and palaces in the world. A bid for survival in the harsh Thar Desert and a history replete with valour, romance and tragedy: the forts and palaces of Rajasthan are a microcosm of the images from the past. Cities, towns and villages - all had their forts and protective ramparts. It was customary to build the palace within the fort, outside which lay the city, enclosed within a fortified wall, as in Jaipur and Udaipur. Some forts occupies commanding heights on hills overlooking the city, as in Jodhpur and Alwar. At Amber and Bundi, the ramparts start at the base of the hill, the palace stands against the hillside, while the fort is on the summit. In Jaisalmer, Jumbhalgarh and Chittaur, the entire settlement is within the fortifications as enclosed unit, while the Bharatpur and Deeg forts had moats. And the palaces set in the sylvan setting of gardens, delicately constructed pavilions and the gaily sprinkling fountains

The 14th century Taragarh Fort sprawls on top of 500 ft hill. There are huge water reservoirs inside the fort. It has strong battlements and bastions. The Bhim Burj housed the huge 16th century Garbh Ganjam cannon reputed to burst the eardrums with its noise. Below Taragarh is the Bundi Palace, which is a typical example of architecture. In Ratan Daulat, the chamber of public audience, stands a simple white marble throne. The Chhatra Mahal has beautiful wall paintings of the Bundi School. Ratan Mahal has many pillars, each mounted with four small black-stone elephants. The Zanana Mahal and Badal Mahal also have very good wall paintings. In Chitra Shala, once can see the best of Bundi wall paintings in varied themes.

Amidst beautifully laid garden, a top the bund of Jait Sagar is the Sikh Niwas. There are some very good sculptures in the garden.

The Phool Sagar Palace, about 10 kms west of Bundi, is an excellent structure. The location is well planned, as also the decoration of this Rajput edifice.

well the info can go on, but i'l stop there😊hope it helps you to understand, some of the histroy!😊
