I think in that kings were allowed to have more than one wife Asoka had more than 1 wife and also other hindi kings had more than one wives so it is not problem of religion in that there was allowed to have more than 1 wife if they were hindi or muslim it was same.

Ashoka had only one wife.... devi... n he had 2 kids with her.. mahendra n sangamitra...

Asoka had several wives. His first wife was the daughter of a merchant of Vedisagiri, whom he met when stopping at the merchant's house on his way to Ujjeni (Mhv.xiii.8ff). Her name was Dev, also called Vedisa-Mahdev, and she was a Skiyan, descended from a Skiyan family who migrated to Vedisa to escape from Viddabha (Mbv., pp.98, 116). Of Dev were born a son Mahinda, and a daughter Sanghamitt, who became the wife of Aggibrahm and mother of Sumana. Dev evidently did not follow Asoka to Ptaliputta, for his aggamahes (chief-queen) there was Asandhamitt (Mhv.v.85). Asandhamitt died in the thirtieth year of Asoka's reign, and four years later he raised Tissarakkh to the rank of queen. Mhv.xx.1-3. The Allahabad Pillar Inscription mentions another queen, Kruvk, mother of Tivara. The Divy. (chap. xxvii.) gives another, Padmvat, Kunla's mother. Besides the children mentioned above, names of others are given: Jalauka, Crumat (Mookherji. p.9).

I agree with u. I don't know How many wifes Prithvi had one or 7/8, But his Love for Sanyogita was immortal. Hindu Kings were allowed to have many wifes and I think if he had more than one wife it had been only political reasons. He Loved only Sanyogita. So no reason to get hurt. And we yet don't know if Sagar's are going to show any of his other wifes or not.
Maybe they are going to show about Indravati (believed to be one of Prithvi's wifes) that's why they have shown her character in the serial. But I am not sure of it so those of you don't like her don't take to heart.

may b, but i read tat he killed 100s of his bro 2 get singhasan. it means his dad might hav more than 1 wife

Yes his dad may have more than one wife. Good observation! But I think its just a myth that he killed 100 brothers to get to the throne!

Hi Angle! I like to add smthing more. here a man cannot just marry in free style. In sura nesa, it is clearly written abt 4 marrage. if first wife has prob like she has physical problem then man can get maried again. In four line it is explained clearly how they will marry 1 after another, but 1 moulana told me husband needs 2 consult with his wife, but another moulana told me husband needs not 2 ask. n regarding the equal treatment tat came end of this discussion in the sura, wat man cann't do. they just marry 1 after another. But women can leave her husband n get married to other person whenever she want. but now a days man explain everything in favour of them. i will send u the link as i need to search it. hope it will b helpful 2 u

YUPP...PRC had 7 wives...& I HATEE THE WAY THAT HE ACQUIRED 2 OF THEM...NOT Sanyo,but 2 OF HIS WIVES 😡 ...BUT,those times were DRASTICALLY diff & therefore,ARE not at ALL understandable by ANYY of us...BUT,his LOVEE for Sanyo is Immortal & Eternal & every-one should just concentrate & celebrate THAT instead of thinking what OTHERRR WITCH-LIKE wives,like Indravati,was PRC stuck with?! 😆
