A journey from friendship to marriage
In the ancient days, India was divided into many small kingdoms each of which were ruled by the respective kings. The kingdom of Kundangarh was strange in some ways from the other kingdoms as while all the other kingdoms were ruled by kings or queens or members of the royal family, all the stately affairs of Kundangarh were being looked after by the young son of the minister, Surya, a very handsome and brave boy,eligible in all respects for running the kingdom. Now Surya was the best friend of the very beautiful princess of Kundangarh, Nandini.After the death of the king and queen of kundangarh in an accident Surya became the friend,philosopher and guide of the princess.Nandini had so much trust on him that inspite of being capable of running her kingdom she left all the responsibilities to Surya and had given him all the powers.Leaving all her worries to Surya, Nandini was living a very carefree kind of life,which she enjoyed very much. Surya alongwith handling all the stately affairs with amazing expertise also used to take utmost care of all the needs and joys and sorrows of Nandini. They were so close to each other that they never did hide anything from each other.Infact it seemed that they couldnot live without each other. Surya was the sole person who had the permission to enter the room of the princess whenever he wished.After completing his work in the royal court it was his daily routine to go to the princess' room and spent hours talking with her and then after taking dinner toghether Surya and Nandini departed from each other only to sleep. Nandini who had a blind trust on Surya couldn't understand when with the passing of time her friendship had changed into intense love.However she couldn't tell it to Surya from whom she had never hidden any of her feelings as she was not sure whether he loved her or was it only his friendship.now there was another girl in the palace who was in love with Surya,She was the daughter of another high official of the court.Her name was Purva.However Surya never had paid any attention to her. Now 1 day Surya had to go out of the palace for some stately affair. Princess Nandini also planned to visit a temple which was coincidentally situated near the place where Surya had gone. Meanwhile Purva also decided to go to the same temple. Now After the departure of Surya, Purva also left for the temple. However Nandini was late due to her maids preparing for the journey. When she left the palace for the temple, Purva was already on her way. Now when Purva reached the temple it was afternoon and the temple was already desolate as it was situated in the midst of a jungle.She entered the temple unaware of the fact that she was being followed by some dacoits. After completing her prayer when she turned back she was face to face with the dacoits. Frightened to the extreme, she shrieked. Meanwhile Surya was returning through that way and he heard the shriek.He ran to the spot and saw that a girl was held captive by some ferocious dacoits. Surya made up his mind and without making any noice he went closer to the dacoits and then all of a sudden attacked them and as they were not ready for it he took the oppurtunity and killed all of them using his war skills. After finishing them off he looked up at Purva who was trembling from head to foot.
Surya: "purva tum yahan kya kar rahi ho?"
Purva was so shocked that she couldn't answer him and instead she ran to him and hugged him and started crying.Surya awkwardly patted her head to console her. However it was in this crucial moment that the princess came there. She was utmost shocked and misunderstood the scenario.Tears rolled down her cheeks as all her dreams were shattered into pieces. Silently she backed away and pulled her friend Vaishali also who was with her at the moment. Nandini returned to the palace and immediately went to her room and closed the door and began to cry bitterly.At the very moment Surya and Purva also returned. Now as Surya went to see Nandini the guards of her room said that the princess didn't want to meet any1.Surya was amazed as it never happened before that Nandini didn't even meet him. With a worried mind he went back to his room. Early in the morning he went out of his room and as he was going towards the princess' room he met Vaishali and stopped her.Surya: " Nandini ko hua kya hain? Wo thik toh hain na?"
Vaishali: " Aapko unki itni fikar kabse hone lagi? Unhe itna bara jakhm dete waqt khyal nehin tha?"
Surya: " Tum kya bol rahi ho humein toh kuch samajh nehin aa raha?"
Vaishali then narrated the whole incident.Surya was shocked to hear this and realising immediately that Nandini had misunderstood him,he rushed to her room but found it empty. As he came out he met Purva and her father and told them the reason of his anxiety on being interrogated.
Surya: " Pata nehin wo kahan gayi hogi!Hum use dhundne ja rahe hain?"
Suddenly a voice came from behind, " Hum yahan hain Surya."
Surya turned to see that Nandini was standing there. He sighed in relief and
went to her. As he went nearer she took out a roll of paper and handed it
over to him.When he asked what it was she said that she had legally given
him all the powers relating the kingdom to him.Then she said : " Humesha khush rehna Surya.Hum humesha ke liye tumhare jindegi se dur ja rahein hain taki tum khush reh sako."
Then as she was about to cross him he hold her hand and said: " Usse pehle humara ek aur upkaar kar do. Yeh khanjar humare seene mein utar do jaane se pehle kyunki tumhare bina jeena toh humein aata hi nehin."
Nandini(with tear filled eyes): " Par wo kal???."
Surya then narrated the whole incident to her.Then he said: " Nandini humne kabhi kahan nehin lekin kya tumhein kabhi humare aankhon mein aapne liye bepanah mohabbat dikhai nehin di.Humare jindegi mein tum ho toh sab hain tum nehin toh kuch bhi nehin." Nandini was crying,she ran towards Surya and hugged him and said : " hum bhi tumse bahut pyaar kartein hain Surya.Nehin ji sakte hum tumhare bina."
Therefore with the consent and blessing of every1 they finally got married and lived happily everafter.
