Chapter 11
It was to quite Sanyogita throught as she awoke the following morning, but refused to open her eyes wanting to savour the peacfullness but when she raised her arms to stretch her arms and her fists smacked into something she sat up and her eyes flew open in alarm to see what it was and the first thing she saw that morning was the sight of her lovely husband and his now very split lip.
Sanyogita watched as Prithvi opened one eye and then removed his arm from around her to raise it to touch his lips, and she continued to watch as his other eye opened when he realised that there was blood on his bottom lip.
'Prithvi thum yaha is waqt' Sanyogota asked finding it hard to believe that he was still in the same spot he had been in when she closed her eyes yesterday.
'Hum yaha nay hote, to kaun yaha hota?' Prithvi asked his wife teasingly as he wiped the blood of his lip.
'Humara yeh kena nay tha, humara kena tha key thum aaj ap ke Sena ke pass kuy nay hai' Sanyogita asked him.
'Kuy ke hum ne soocha tha ke aaj hum ap key dosri suraj se puja karo ga..'
'Dosri suraj, yeah dosri suraj kya hai' Sanyogita asked him but Prithvi continued on as if she hadn't spoken
'Lekhen hum ko kya maloom tha ke humare suraj ko dekhen mein itni hatrat hai' Prithvi said looking straight at Sanyogita and touching his swollen lip to make his point, causing her to blush.
Prithvi watched as Sanyogita's cheeks turned a lovely pink colour, making her seem even more beautiful. As he sat there admiring his wife he thought he must surely be the luckest man on earth to have such a beautiful wife, who even first thing in the morning could brighten his day with the natural glow in her cheeks which was as bright as the suns rays.
As her husband was just sitting there watching her skin turn darker and darker with her blush Sanyogita decided enough was enough.
'Prithvi, she said embarrassedly while lighting punching him on the arm to get his attention.
'Yeh kya hai Maharani, kya hum ko apni sena humari raksha sai bolan poga' Prithvi said to her.
Deciding she wasn't going to get a straight answer from him when he was in this mood Sanyogita gave up asking and made her self comfortable in his arms again.
'Jo v wajaah hai Prithvi hum thuj ke dekh kar booth khush hai' Sanyogita told him turning in his arms to hug him.
'Hum ko bi khushi hai Sanyogita jub bi hum thomari baho mein hai tub to hum ko booth kushi hai' he replied and then went to kiss her on the head and instead winced in pain. Seeing the look on Prithvi's face Sanyogita felt guilty
'Booth dard ho raha hai' She asked Prithvi.
'Nay' Prithvi answered her not wanting to see the happiness disappear from her eyes.
'Jewta' Sanyogita answered learning forward to lightly kiss him on the lips.
Not wanting her to move away Prithvi said
' tum such hai hum ko yaha bi daard hai' pointing to his right cheek. Laughing Sanyogita bent to place a kiss on his cheek.
'Or yaha bi' he said pointing to the other cheek making Sanyogita laugh even as she bent to kiss his other cheek, and so it went until she had kissed both his cheeks, his forehead, his hands and then his lips again.
'Bass Prithvi' Sanyogita said when they were both blushing bright red and her cheeks hurt from laughing so much.
'Pur Sany' Sanyogita looked up to see what had made Prithvi stop speaking and when he raised his eyebrows and moved his eyes to the right Sanyogita turned to have a look at what Prithvi was watching and saw that while her and Prithvi had been lost in their game, their daughter had woken up and was watching them.
'Papa, Mama' Nandani said trying to lift her arms out to them before realising she could only lift one arm. Seeing the look on their daughters face all the happiness from a moment again had disappeared to be replaced by sadness for their daughter. Seeing the sadness in Sanyogita's and Nandani's eyes Prithvi decided enough was enough and that this as yet unknown person had snatched enough of his families happiness and it was time that stopped letting him.
Removing his arms from around Sanyogita, he kissed her on the head and winked at her before reaching for his daughter and lifting her into his arms.
'Dekho Sanyogita, humari pari ke ankh kol gaye; sena ko hathrey ka alan kar do' Prithvi said making Sanyogita laugh and then tugged her hand and pulled her into his other arm. Then kissing first Nandani and then Sanyogita he said 'Humareya raniya pur odasi nay muskann aachi lagti hai' and then he turned and ticked in turn his wife and daughter making them both laugh and when they both turned and ticked him he joined them in laughing. Seeing the happiness in his wife and daughters eyes and hearing their laughter was like a gift from heaven for Prithvi and he knew no matter what happened in life as long as his girls were laughing that would be enough for him.
Scooting along the bed Sanyogita stopped to watch her husband and daughter together. She loved watching Prithvi with Nandani because no matter what they were doing, be it playing hide and seek or having a pillow flight like now, she knew that Prithvi would always protect Nandani from harm, but more than that he was teaching her to have no fear and was letting her be a normal little girl just like he had done with Pratha. Sometimes she wished that she had had the same releationship with her father that Nandani and Prithvi had. Thinking of her father Sanyogita wondered how her mother and father were, it had been two weeks since she had received her mothers last letter, which she thought was strange as she sould have received a new one two days ago but the decieded in all the panic yesterday it must have been misplaced and she made a mental note to speak to one of the maids later.
'Sanyogita, Kon ko gaye thi thum' Prithvi asked, bringing her out of her thoughts. Laughing embarrassedly Sanyogita shook her said and 'Hum tho yaha e hey'. Prithvi knew that she had been thinking of Maharaj Jaichand because although she didn't no it everytime she thought of her parents a auro of such sadness radiated from her that even when there was a smile on her face the pain hidden deep in her heart always should through the slight dimming of light in her eyes. Prithvi thought about how true it was that the way to the soul is through the eyes.
'Kuch kena tha' Sanyogita asked him while playing with Nandani. 'Ha kuch Kanne ko mille ga. Nandani ko pook lagi hai' he answered her
'Aacha, Nandani ko pook lagi hai yah such mein Prithvi ko pook lagi hai' Sanyogita asked her husband with raised eyebrows.
'Nandani ko' Prithvi answered her and tried not to laugh when both his and Nandani's stomachs made a rumbling noise.
'To such mein app ke bab ke beti hain' Sanyogita told her daughter laughingly kissing her on her upturned nose.
'Aacha tum Nandani ke pass beto or hum nashte ka intazam karti ho' she told Prithvi.
After calling for the maids and arranging for breakfast to be brought to their bedroom, Sanyogita decided to freshen up.Looking over at the bed she saw Prithvi and Nandani were occupied and so picked up her towel and robe and headed to the bathroom.Patting her face with the towel as she came out of the bathroom Sanyogita felt herself fall in love with her husband all over again.
Their daughter was sitting up in the middle of the bed like a queen propped up with the pillows and her darling husband was sitting next to her and he had a glass of juice in one hand and was using the other one to raise Nandani's neck so that she could drink the juice and she continued to watch as her daughter decided that she had had enough and closed her mouth turning her head from side to side making the curls in her hair fly as she did so. Sanyogita saw the danger and she tried to warn Prithvi but wasn't quick enough and instead she watched in amusement as the juice remaining in the glass landed all over her husbands clothes and her daughters hair. Seeing the identical look of horror on Prithvi and Nandani's face Sanyogita couldn't stop herself from smiling which somehow turned into a full blown laugh.
Hearing Sanyogita's laugh Prithvi looked up in time to see his wife put her hand in front of her mouth to try and stop her self from laughing even harder. Prithvi wanted to get upset after all he was all wet and sticky but the truth was that it was the first time since yesterday that he had heard Sanyogita laugh properly and he was more than happy to be the reason for her laughter, and he had to admit that when he looked down at his beautiful daughters lovely but now very wet and sticky hair and saw the pout on her lips he wanted to laugh as well. Deciding that one of them would have to be the grown up Prithvi picked his sticky daughter up and carried her over to her mother and carefully deposited her in Sanyogitas arms
'Thum Nandani ko naha do or hum app ko' Prithvi told her and then feeling naughty he grabbed hold of Sanyogita and hugged her to him so that their daughter was at her front and he was behind her and he only let go once Sanyogita was as sticky as him and Nandani and then he ran out the room as fast as his legs could carry him laughing when she shouted 'Bigraa raess', but unable to resist he said 'is bar hum jeeth gaya mere junglie billie'
Sanyogita looked down at her daughter and grabbing her nose playfully said 'tere papa bi' and laughed when her daughter grabbed her nose back and said 'tere papa' to Sanyogita on her way back to the bathroom.
Coming out of the bathroom a short while later with her daughter following behind her Sanyogita wasn't surprised to see Prithvi already waiting there for them and looking handsome in his sky blue outfit, the sleeveless top helping to display his muscles, and the wet hair falling over his eye making him looking devastatingly handsome.
Seeing her father Nandani went running pass Sanyogita to Prithvi, her wet hair leaving water droplets across the floor. Prithvi picked up his daughter and set her safely on the bed and then bending his head to one side he pretended to study her before reaching out to touch her her curly hair which was in a wild mess and said 'Sanyogita humari beti aag such mein Jungliee Billie dikthe bi hai' making Sanyogita laughed as she made her way over to the bed, and taking a towel used it to pat Nandani's hair down before brushing her hair through. When she had finished she moved out of the way so that Prithvi could see his daughter. Smiling Prithvi hugged his daughter 'Humari pari wapas agaye'.
Taking advantage of her daughter preoccupation with her father Sanyogita moved over to her dressing table and bending her head to the side she sat down to dry her hair. When she had finished and was sitting straight back up in her chair she looked into the Mirror and realised that Prithvi had been watching her, similing shyly she picked up the brush and started to run it through her hair, both of them watching each other in the mirror. When she was finished she turned away from the table and got up to select an outfit for her daughter. Going over to her daughters clothes chest she opened it and let out a gasp as she saw the lovely baby pink and white lengha, with matching bangels and jewellery. 'Prithvi, yeah sub kya hai' she asked turning to Prithvi.
'Sirf ek chota sa thofa ek bab se un key beti ke leye' Prithvi said and then moved from one foot to the other before shyly handing Sanyogita a package from behind his back 'or yeah hai thofa ek patni ko us ke Pati se'. Taking the package from Prithvi, Sanyogita unwrapped it slowly and then nearly dropped it when she saw what was inside it.
It was lovely, a turquoise blue coloured lengha with silver embrodiary and diamond adornments, the bangels were an eye catching mixture of blue and silver in colour with 6 diamons set in each one,the ring a large turquoise diamond sourrounded by 12 small diamonds set in a heart shape, but even that wasn't what had made her gasp that was the last time, a diamond necklace but not just any necklace. There were three interlinking heart shaped large turquoise diamonds , each with three hanging tear drop white diamonds while the earings each had one turquoise and one white heart shaped diamonds. With tears in her eyes Sanyogita said ' yeah chota sa tufa nay hai Prithvi'
'Sanyogita jo khushi tho ney hum ko de us ke samney yeah tho booth chota hai'
'Lekhen Prithvi aaj Pratha ka din hai, hum yeah pano ge tho Pratha kya soche gey'
'Humari bena waise nahi hai, pur pir hum ne humari Pratha ke leye bi ek thofa hai' he told her smiling. 'Aacha ye sub choro or hum ko batha humare thofe kaise lage'
Hugging him Sanyogita kissed him on the cheek 'booth, booth pyare, bilkol humare pati jese' she told him making him laugh.
'Aacha Maharaja p both ye pyar war ho gaya, hum ko batho key thu ne kuch soch hai Pratha or Samar ke baar me' Sanyogita asked him seriously
'Hum ko ek yogna hai' Prithvi informed her and then went on to explain further.
'Wah Maharaj, kya yogna hai' Sanyogita told him once again impressed with her husbands skilful brain.
Glad that Sanyogita had agreed to his plan Prithvi decided that it was time that they put it into action.'Sanyogita, tum or Nandani thayare ho kar oa' he told her before moving to leave the room.
'Humare Maharaj ne addash diya tu hum kaise na us ka palan karo' she told him cheekly making him laugh.
Watching Prithvi go Sanyogita looked down at her and Nandani's new dresses and smilled in happiness.
