Just a general observation.I have seen many people remarking that Indian shows are regressive,Indian shows promote abuse, etc.😆 I just wanted to point out that of Indian pairs are abusive then some of the most famous ships of English shows are no less.Namely,

-Chuck and Blair from Gossip Girl:Chuck nearly raped two girls, used his girlfriend Blair like a tissue paper, pimped her to his uncle for the sake of his hotel, hit her in anger and yet Blair fell head over heels in love with him and married him too.

-Aria and Ezra from Pretty Little Liars:This guy enters the life of an underage girl and turns out to be her teacher, gets into a relationship with her and is later revealed that he had meticulously planned on entering her life and got involved with her despite knowing that she was an underage girl and his student. This relationship filled every criteria of statutory rape.

-Delena from TVD:Now I am a die hard shipper but yes I don't deny that this relationship too was unhealthy.

So my point was that English shows are not exactly progressive either. So why look down upon Indian shows only when the disease is spread everywhere??Be it American,Turkish or Pakistani.

I only watched The Vampire Diaries till Elena was human, so that I don't have to stand Delena!!!!

I supported Stefan!!!!

Though my favourite character in that show is Elijah!!!!

He is a guy I would like!!!!

I suppose if I had to count then I could count them off on my fingers they are so few!!!!

That's the sad thing.Good MLs are rare nowadays.
Currently the best male leads are Neil Khanna from Naamkarann and Abeer from Kya Qussor Hai Amala Ka.
Neil is the best one hands down.Strong, smart, caring, sensitive, intense and passionate too.The perfect guy.

I was into Delena as a teen but now when I look back I see that they were really unhealthy. Now I don't care about them that much.
Elijah is a great guy though.

Anyway my point was that if we are so unhappy with MLs in Indian shows then what would we say if we were given an ML like Chuck Bass from Gossip Girl??😆

All the current jerks in ITV put together are nothing compared to the Emperor of Abusive Leads Mr Chuck Bass.
And the sad part is that if you scroll under any YouTube video you will find fangirls supporting that rapist/abusive douchebag Chuck.

Neil is not my type!!!!

I liked Ashish as a character!!!!😊

No he was not the quintessential male lead, he was a mess and weak!!!!

But I liked the way he was portrayed!!!!

Neil will soon go on his way I think though I have no idea what is happening post leap!!!!

I just saw when Ashish's death sequence was shown!!!!

I rarely watched English shows for the male leads or love story!!!!

They seem to sleep with everyone under the sun!!!!

I watch it for the story!!!!

I liked Alan in Boston Legal!!!!

But would he make a good boyfriend?? No!!!!

Did he make a great lawyer?? Yes!!!!

The only male leads I liked were Richard in Legend of the Seeker and Clark in Lois and Clark!!!!

These as romantic leads!!!!

Of course Jon Snow is nice now!!!!

Captain Hook is kind of exciting in Once Upon A Time!!!!

Interesting discussion going on here😆Couldn't help but add my two cents.

Now coming to SidT of Swastik PH,when has he ever shown abusive MLs??Ulta the MLs of his shows are too good.
In Razia Sultan, people remember how Altunia misbehaved with Razia in the final episodes. But I am surprised that no one mentioned how well behaved, polite, respectful and sweet he was for most of the series. He was a jolly cheerful guy who supported Razia at every step.Swastik totally whitewashed his character.
The real Altunia was no sweetheart but a Turkish warlord who was ambitious and ruthless. He was Razia's childhood friend who later rebelled against her and went on to become her husband. He was a grey character in real life
Swastik altered his character completely and made him and out and out positive person.Only when the show had the axe hanging over their heads that they showed him as a grey character only for one episode.Since they had already distorted the actual history and turned RS into a fairytale love story.

Then comes another Swastik show Begusarai.Begusarai had a different PH in the beginning. The ML of Begu was totally abusive. When Swastik took over in the middle they actually toned down the ML's character completely.Begu must be the only show in which the abusive elements were shown.

SidT is the mind behind progressive shows like Amber Dhara, Mahabharat and Mahakaali.

Sid and Rahul Tewary are awesome producers.Yes they totally distorted Razia Sultan's history though.
But still the show remained watchable till the end.

First of all , I am not a male lead ki deewani type of girl so Swastik's shows aren't for me.
Though I genuinely feel Rohit Purohit capital bold HOT.
The thing is, Swastik at first, makes their heroine too weak and then suddenly turns them into superheroines quite abruptly without any reason
Also, Swastik productions creates unnecessary and stupid situations for an opportunity to let their female protagonists to give illogical bhashaans
And I dislike bhashaanbaji.
I don't know what is progressive and female empowering in showing the female protagonist humiliating herself in front of her husband and her husband comforting her.
This is exactly the "chemistry " of every Tiwari brothers shows.
Mahakali was shit of highest level.
Even Naagin was better than this.
I would however, admit Swastik 'S non mythos are pretty good and progressive.
But their mythos are garbage
In the name of progressiveness, they destroy mythologies.
Swastik's mytho shows are so shitty that I wouldn't even let my worst enemies watch it.
They are only worth of being used as third degree torture for international terrorists.

Sorry but Ashish was in simple words weak and spineless.I couldn't find anything likeable in him though.
But Viraf is a fantabulous actor. He did a great job.

Neil is as different from Ashish as anything. He is strong, caring and fights the world for his wife.He is nowhere near Ashish and will never be.

Viraf daily got it from us for being so spineless on the show!!!!😆 😆 😆 😆

Well Ashish was real unfortunately!!!!!

Men are closer to him in real life than to the male leads we fantasize about!!!!

I haven't really watched Naamkarann since the leap as it is a regular show now with saas-bahu, vamps and trip and catch all the time!!!!

Whatever random scenes I have seen there are only two good characters Ali and DD!!!!

Too bad Ali is not the hero!!!

I preferred him from childhood!!!!

How is Neil even different??

Ashish was there and yet couldn't do anything and Neil is conveniently never at home when things happen!!!!

Let his ex come first!!!!

Every girl marries her father!!!!😛
