Of course, I remember Altunia as a sweetheart. During those times, I would say a lot in different forums how he is the best male lead. That's the reason, I and my family cobtuned watching the show and of course due to brave Razia. Cvs should not have showed Albania in the beginning. It would be fine if they completely followed history and showed Razia without any male lead for most of the show. Par humaari bhaartiya janta ko romance ke bina kuch acchha hi nahi lagta hai. It's not just about Altunia but I did not liked Razia too some of the times like when she slapped Altunia thrice during family mourning scene and her releasing the murderer Yakut. It would have been watchable if Altunia simply put Razia in jail after a fight and then proposal to marry her instead of making her walk barefoot in chains while ger feet bled and marrying her in chains. So those few scenes were horribly exaggerated. If Razia tortured Altunia then I would have said the same. Bandhan and Ghulam were also if Tewary Brothers. They can't do anything to Mahabharat and Mahakali as they are mythos. Amber Dhara was in 2006 dear. Those times there were many progressive shows. But from 7-8 years there are hardly any progressive shows.
Where Swastik went wrong with RS is that they sugar coated everything and turned it into a full fledged love story between Alzia.I won't deny that I loved Alzia like anything. They were like a fairytale from the Arabian Nights.I never considered that to be real history though.
The historical Alzia were totally different and yet fascinating.
1.Razia and Altunia were childhood friends. He was also some sort of a cousin to her.
2.Razia's life was full of political intrigues and struggles.None of these were ever shown.
3.Life of women during the Delhi Sultanate was really tough. It was not shown.
4.Razia's biggest rivals the Group of Forty were not shown.
5.Yaqut was an Abyssinian slave who was Razia's close friend.I don't there was anything more than genuine friendship between them. But in those days a man and a woman's friendship was frowned upon.Especially if she was a Sultan and he was a slave.Contrary to what was shown Yaqut was a decent guy in real.
6.Malik Altunia rebelled against Razia out of jealousy and ambition. He did imprison her and made a deal with her to marry him. After that they became allies. They did love each other but it was a complicated relationship.
7.About binding her in chains and making her walk barefoot then I agree that it was totally far fetched and distasteful.
The real Altunia would have never ever done that.Yes Razia was his prisoner but she was treated with respect.
Now I have never seen Bandhan so I cannot say anything about it.But Ghulaam was not by the Tewary Bros.It was by Saurabh Tewary who is nowhere related to Sid and Rahul Tewary. They have nothing in common apart from the surname.
The only two Saurabh Tewary heroes whom I liked were Rudra from Rangrasiya and Raghu from Do Dil Ek Jaan. These two were aggressive yes.But never abusive.
Though the rest of them are A1 jerks
