with Onion and Garlic??
Not all Vaishnavas are of that thinking..It is with most Jains they dont eat roots and garlic...But some do too..
What nonsense are they showing? it is not as if Hetal was cooking meat in a vegetarian family kitchen..
Hetal was cooking it for her husband na. People usually learn and change when they go thru their own experience...Hetal did not learn when Mona first came to the family but now as she is married into Bedi family she has picked up some of their ways of cooking..
Gandhis should allow Hetal to cook with Onion-Garlic on seperate stove and utensils..
There are bigger and better things to fight over than onions and garlic...Grrr
What nonsense are these people talking "Kitchen bhrashta kar diya hai" 😡

Honestly I am not indian so I dont know what the big deal is with cooking onions. I mean it is not meat it is just a vegetable. But other than that I cant beleive they were yelling at their married daughter like that when her husband could easily hear everything. If I was at my mom's house and my family yelled at me like that when my hubby could hear it I would be so embarrassed. One thing I really like about bedi's that even hetal knows that they love their kids more than traditions and stuff especially their daughters. Look at everything sweety's in laws said to them but they were all quite for their kid's happiness. And they really do respect their damad alot, both any and parmeet. But same cannot be said for the Ghandi family.

And what the hell is wrong with baa? Did she just say that hetal went against her faith to marry karan? Well when mona got married did they not force her to learn their cooking, and religion? How come they do not see their mistake there?

Gandhis are Vaishnav Baniyas unless they are gujarati brahmins..
I am just amazed at the hypocricy..

I am sorry I disagree with you. Hetal is staying at her maayka. She is a guest. She should follow the rules of the household. If they have a problem cooking with onions and garlic in the food, then she shouldn't be cooking with those vegtables. In the Ghandi household, eating garlic and onions just a big of sin as eating meat. By cooking those vegtables, she disrespecting the family.

Of course she really want to cook with those vegtables, she should have talked with Ambaji. I am sure Ambaji was williing work with her. But no Hetal only care about herself.
Honestly what was Hetal thinking? Doesn't she remember the hell that Mona went through when accidently brought food from non-veg restaurant or brought food from her maayka. Why does Hetal expect special treatment.?
On different note, I read somewhere that Vaishnavas don't eat Onions and Garlic. I also read they won't take garlic for medicinal purposes either. It seems to me it is a big deal.

The Bedis are Sikhs...Darji wears a turban and the bahus of the house (Well, Mona's mum and Sweety's mum) don't wear a mangalsutra/sindoor

Hetal does, but that's ok because she has grown up like that in her house...

Not all vaishnavas follow not eating onio-garlic rule...Selective it is...personal choice more than being Vaishnava..I myself am Brahmin...Part of being Vaishnava..
Jain community overall mostly dont eat Onion-Garlic..
Anyone has more info they can share as I am just amazed at what they show on serials.

Hetal is NOT a guest. That is as much her house as it is baa's, ambaji's and mona's and everybody else. Just because a girl gets married does not mean that her maayka is not her house anymore and she is a guest. That is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard. Why should a daughter be treated as a guest after marriage? They spend most of their life in that house with those people and then they are just guests. How is that even fair?

However if not cooking garlic and onions really is that important in their house then she should have asked. One of my friends told me that in their house they don't eat or bring chicken. And if somebody accidentally brings chicken then they have to clean the whole house. So if onions and garlic are similar to that then yah hetal should have asked but the whole baa yelling so loud was not necessary on your married grand daughter who just moved in back with you guys with her husband. At least be a little hospitable and nice to them.

cooking onion & garlic is not same as cooking meat..
Sorry this is wrong info and ridiculous thing I have ever heard of..
Lemme shae something with you...Know this Pakka Vaishnav Bania family who is Shrinathji devotee and folloing Pushtimarg...almost 80 yrs old woman who does not allow meat in her house as they are all complete vegetarian...
Guess what her daughter is down with stage 4 grade 4 colon cancer...Doctor has said nothing will help her...patient's diet includes feeding her clear chicken broth...Mother who is totally against her religion and belief is making chicken broth herself from can but doing it for her daughter...This is how it is..She gave up her lifelong belief for helping and feeding her sick may be dying daugher..

I agree that Baa went overboard. However when you feel strongly about something. You come out harsh and say things you don't mean. Hetal should have apologise to her instead of making excuses. She just made situation worse.

i am also from brahmin community.we don't eat or cook garlic and onion in house.if any relative visits our house we will not serve these items.its tradition some people fallow.
and gandhi family fallows this tradition.why should not they fallow it??every family has right to religion which can not be questioned.its fundamental right of every indian citizen and family to fallow what they wish.

i think as a daughter hetal should know what tradition her parents fallowed all these years.why all of sudden they change tradition just hetal wanted to cook onions??
