Chapter 3
What the hell was wrong with her?
He couldn't quite put his finger on it but She definitely was not her usual self.
Her confidence and self assuredness was well known to everyone who knew her. It was one of the things every one noticed about her and commented on once they realised she was still only in her late teens.
He recalled wistfully that he was one of them.
God, he must have seemed well green to everyone; he remembered meeting her for the first time at their initial workshop. So different to what he had expected, so open so carefree and natural with her smile, it was impossible not to be drawn to her. She looked beautiful too, fresh faced and not tarted up with all the cak these girl leads plastered all over themselves. It was as easy as pie to fall head over heels for her even though he tried not to.
He shook his head - He did not want to dwell on those early times too much.
Who would she be calling a low-life so late at night? He'd hazard a guess it was that stupid asshole of a boyfriend of Her's, but then that was none of his business. She was so wasted on that little shit, but She had already made her feelings known in more ways than one about that topic. His view didn't count, who was he to care anyway?
Shrugging his shoulders, he remembered to give tomorrow's schedule a quick look over. He smiled when he saw he would be shooting a cute scene with her tomorrow. He would pull her leg when they caught up tomorrow and then it came to him. He was due to meet up with one of the other girls on set damn! If he blew that girl out there would be hell to pay on that side too.
"Women," he grumbled "you really can't live with them or without them!"
He felt a little disappointed, but then reminded himself not to be. His life was finally moving on, he should not care so much for Her. It took ages for him to swallow his contempt every time he saw that git with Her but finally he had mastered it without any significant pain.
He'd made the promise to that other girl first to go for a coffee and she had never let him down as a friend during his rough days He owed her that much, if nothing more.
Fate, it seemed, was determined to keep them apart, and it was probably for the best he thought darkly, as he switched off the light.

The next day She woke up feeling surprisingly fresh, given her intermittent sleep. After showering and getting ready, she still had good time before she needed to be at the studios.
"Right, let's do this, " she mentally prepared herself not to listen to any of his crap this time.
She had already called the boyfriend and made sure he was home and told him she needed to talk about something important. She was there in ten minutes flat and she was glad he was alone with no snooping house maid lurking. He graciously made them both some coffee and they sat down, she deliberately putting distance between them
"Listen, if it's about last night don't worry. I have already forgiven you and forgotten about it" he spoke too smugly
"Excuse me? Forgiven me for what exactly? You called me in the middle of the frickin night remember?" she bristled back and that was the beginning.
One after one both exchanged accusations, insults and other matters which She had prayed She would be able to avoid. The truth was, this relationship had been dwindling for a long time now, it was no one person's fault. To Her her career was more important, only family took precedence and he was not on the same level. She had always believed in the back of her mind that although his fun loving, carefree nature also attracted her, that he was more interested in the breaks being with Her got him. Judging by the insults he's just levelled it seems She was right all along
"Well this just paves the way doesn't it," he screamed "now you're free to do whatever you want and get up close and personal with any man you want, especially your precious bloody lead"
"Don't...don't do this, please don't say shit we are both going to regret, "she was weary now and was trying desperately for the sake of old times to bring this to a civilised close and she had to leave to go for her shoot.
"Don't give me bullshit! I know everything! I know you've just been waiting for this moment so you can jump straight into his arms and carry on doing what you're already bloody doing anyway! He's just a total bas***d and you're a s-"
He wasn't able to continue as Her stinging backhander cut him short.
"I was right," she spoke quietly but with gritted teeth
"You are a frickin low life, son of a bitch! God knows I tried to end this with some respect for you but you're simply not worthy. Goodbye and good riddance and do us both a favour don't call me and stay the feck away from me."
With that she picked up her bag and headed straight out of the door. She made it back to her place just in time for the car to take her to the studios. Her head hurt like crazy.
"How am I going to do anything feeling like this," she thought as she rapidly flicked through her lines. The car's unsteady drive was adding to her difficulties but she had no choice she had already taken up her morning which she would often use to familiarise her lines thoroughly before she got to work.
When she came upon the scene she would do with Him later on, she smiled weakly. At least she could look forward to seeing him for a bit, she thought as she lay her head back on the head rest of the back seat and closed her eyes.
" God, I really need You right now..."
