What drew you to the serial ?? You have not stated that and what keeps u to the serial ...?

The very first promo that gave this impression that this serial is all about bringing the challenging and menacing topic of eve teasing. Which is considered a growing problem throughout the subcontinent, was what drew me to this serial, my very first serial that I actually hooked on to the point that I actually started posting here is MKAP, otherwise I never cared for any soap operas.

I used to like reality shows which lasts two to three months and I posted there for my favorite contestants.

Now what is keeping me still hooked to this show " though not too enthusiastic these days" is the journey of the girl who fell victim to eve teasing, married her and her family's harasser, but only for some brief moments of happiness that she got and eventually fell for this guy, most of the time she and her family suffered all kinds of disgrace, How much will she suffer moving forward and is there any hope for such a girl who accepted the fate, accepted the marriage but every day faced harassment, pain and abuse of some kind is the reason i watch this show

Will she succeed in the end?, Also Krishna the other kind of hero or male lead so to speak, who was introduced as the eve teaser, did showed signs that whatever is the background, one can change if he gets someone like Pratigya in his life, who can help him differentiate between right and wrong, whether that will make any difference to him is another reason that keep me watching this show.

Lastly one more reason to keep watching is the Allahabadi dialect and the dialogues by various other characters whether positive or negative provides a lot of entertainment and amusement.

The issue which initially drew me in was eveteasing but domestic violence emphasizing on battered woman was the one which kept me coming back. Pratigya's fight for Kesar really appealed me.

Ofcourse i respect P's choice,You are misunderstanding me completely, I did mention that although I never liked K I did begin to respect his support and love for her. I even send a petition about no separation. But it was before this very painful tract. The stuff that K said and did was unbelievable and cruel.

I just feel a women's dignity is a very precious thing. I know they will reunite because the show will close down otherwise. But this time, I really want him to make it up to her as she deserves it.

And I am sorry if I have provoked anyone . It was not my intentions.

Thanks

Anu

Ur respect and liking is based when he play the supportive role to P..but when he strikes out, makes an individual stand...U question his love ...

Your view is that of a woman, while I view it as Human interaction, hence the difference in the way we view the same situation ..

Yes, K was cruel, brought me the memory of those days when Pratigya was equally cruel ...If relationship's get questioned for each and every thing ..then the very fabric of relationship will be torn asunder ...For a successful relationship, oe needs a huge dollops of patience, a bit of space and an ability to forgive !!

I beg ur pardon, Anu..Woman's Dignity !! Anu...Dignity ..All Human's deserve that...not just Woman ...and dignity is a precious thing..one among Many ...

Hello Sam,

I am relieved to find atleast one person who has the same mindset that I have. Eveteasing was the initial reason I started watching MKAP too. Apart from some happy moments what had Pratigya really achieve? Nothing really.

The most horrific and disgraceful moment was when her's and mr shyam's face was blakened. She should have walked out right there and then.

Anyways Sam thanks for your noble and honest views. I guess there is still hope in the world.

Ganga descending from Heaven's , Shiva bearing her weight, Bhagirath waiting for her ..Parvati looking on..😊...You know, U asked a few days ago. who was Shiva in MKAP ..And I had said that Prolly Shiva's role was truncated...Now I am thinking , The house of Thakur's will be Shiva cos they will bear the brunt of Ganga !!

Was the promo so effective that u actually switched on ur own volition or did ur family play a part..??

So the expectation that one day Pratigya will change Krishna for the better keeps u from switching off..and also the belief that a right partner will actually be a positive influence on the other spouse..

No I do not agree Pratigya was cruel . He made her and her family's life a living hell. What do you expect? And yes ofcourse everyone should have dignity. But it has to be earned. In my dictionary the Saxena's are dignified and the thakur's are a bunch of hooligans , just for the fact that they blackened P's face and killed an innocent child in the mother's womb. Dignity and respect cannot be snatched or forced it should be earned. And in this case Pratigya and her family has earned it by suffering day in and day out in the hands of the thakur's.

And yes my reaction changes towards K's behavior because He pursued her and practically dragged her into his criminal family. It is his responsibility to protect her from the atrocities and he failed miserably.

Anyways Tanths it's nothing personal. I dislike criminals , actually the proper word would be I hate criminals and I watching your wife been dragged by the cops is a disgraceful criminal activity in my eyes. Sorry , I am not that forgiving. This realistic fiction is very real for me because I work with women who has experienced it.

I do not expect you to understand my feelings because you won't.

It was nice expressing views with you but now I would refrain from answering anything. I feel it's a waste of time.

I imagine all teenagers are busy watching "Pretty Little Liars, Glee, Teen Mom. The secret life of an American Teenager"
At least my 12-year old son would never dream of watching any show as heavy hitting as MKAP
I see MKAP as a window into the social issues prevalent in this rural part of India, which I imagine I will never visit. I am facinated by every facet of every character's lives. The language is phenominal! It is the language of my forebearers. And then there is the dirama and characters. Pretty good by soap opera standards.
But the best thing is this forum. Amazing writers come on every day to provides a critical daily analysis of show. Such insight!
I have never watched any other show, so I have nothing to compare MKAP against or visited any other forum.

Why Is it confusing ? ...My question's were fairly straightforward 😊

This forum had member's as young as 14 ..So I would say that there is something that keeps them watching this serial ...plus in some recent survey..the tiny tots have said that they like Pratigya as an inspiring character...[ Although I personally would not know what they grasped and what they made of this serial..]

Fascination for Rural milieu , nostalgia for ur roots keeps u rooted to MKAP...but what drew u in..which particular instance .. made u sit up ??
