As if we didn't know, Amma reveals her true grievances, and that is that she's plain jealous and envious at how Krishna treats his mahararu, when she tells SS to show her some love once in a while and learn something from his son. Yeah, like that's gona happen, Amma. Keep on dreaming. Your maternal affections have certainly won over your son, but you've never been able to win over SS with your womanly wiles, like you accused Prats using hers with Krishna. It was funny when SS said that he fears coming close to her and that the air gets bad when he does. No truer words have been spoken, SS. There's definitely a stench around Amma. Whatever, it was a much needed light-hearted and playful scene.
PG was good in showing her panic and distress, and Ashmita showing false concern and scaring the poor thing with SS's reaction when he founds out what happened to his dhothi. Ok. Amma, where were your brains when you decided that you'd keep the evidence tied to your sari instead of getting rid of the packet straight away. Loved her expressions of discomfort, awkwardness, and fear at being caught out. You could clearly see the wheels in her head turning after Prats left. But points for thinking on your feet and telling Krishna of Prats error so that you're seen once again thinking only about Prats and covering up for her 'mistakes'.
Why, oh, why Prats did you not tell Krishna about Amma's fake phone call. I mean there were even witnesses around when she made it - GD, Kesar, and Kesamma (wouldn't bother with her though). Even if Krishna hadn't believed you, there's no way he could have refused to believe the other lot. Would he really think that the other two were also against his Amma and of course they would support Prats, even lie for her? Will GD or Kesar reveal this information later? Guess you were shocked out of your skin when Krishna revealed the depth of Amma's deceit, especially regarding the dhaba, so will let you off. AB was great too showing his concern, then his growing anger and then full rage when Prats revealed what Amma had done and why she was doing it. It's very easy saying that you'll always trust and stand by your spouse, but as soon as doubt enters into the relationship these words have little meaning. Under the circumstances and evidence that Amma has provided, Krishna's reactions seem understandable and justified from his point of view.
And Amma's fake sympathic expression when Prats turns around after Krishna walked out was just priceless. Very symbolic that just a few hours ago Prats was part of the family and now is seen standing alone far away from it. Here you have SS warning Amma that the puja should go smoothly and Amma has planned it that it goes of with a bang. Ashmita was scary, and brilliant at the dining table. My god her eyes!
Both Actresses were great in their respective roles during the confrontation. PG, as the wife, showing anger and disbelief at the extent a mother would go to to destroy her own son's relationship. And Ashmita, as the MIL, showing her wickedness and sheer hatred for her DIL, and triumph over her win. Your right about one thing, Amma. Your mamta will win him back, but with this same mamta you will lose him too.
