11th July - felt like a bucket of cold water thrown at me.
Again we had that darn continuity issue that's becoming quite habitual with MKAP. With Friday's scene, in my opinion, ending on a powerful note I had hoped that it would continue on from there. I would have loved to have seen the couple alone. I think it's too much to ask for them to sit down and talk. Maybe that's reserved for when they get back to TN, although unlikely anytime soon what with Ganga there. So maybe some scenes like them running to take shelter under that now famous tanki, a few more eye-locks, possibly another hug, the rain finally stopping and them making their way home. There needn't have been any dialogues. Just looks and gestures would have said it all. Instead it jumped straight to TN.
Amma of course has nothing better to do then sit in her corner; seething in anger and frustration, defiance and silence her only weapons at the moment. Kesamma and KN really are two peas from the same pod when the former's gesture is clearly interpreted by the latter. Loved Komal today when she made her feelings perfectly clear to Amma. And how right you are, Komal, about Amma's jealousy. For it is exactly this emotion, as well as a huge ego, that caused Amma to take the step to break up Krishna and Prats. Looks like you've lost your partner in crime, Amma, although I doubt this will have any real effect on you. Should you really be surprised? Have you forgotten that your daughter was about to blab to SS when she discovered your plot to barbeque Prats a while back. Don't expect any loyalty from her. You've got KN and Kesamma to keep you company - for now a least, although wouldn't put it pass these two to leave her high and dry to save their own skin.
Seems like preferential treatment going on here, SS. When Prats made a beautiful Rangoli pattern last year on Diwali you berated her for making the floor dirty and now Ganga wants to do the same thing you have no objection. In fact you become a bumbering fool whilst being scolded when you accidentally smudge the work of art. In fact we saw how similar SS and Krishna when both resort to using English words and holding there ears when seeking forgiveness.
Wow, Arhaan looked super hot in his kurta. Looked like Krishna had gone back to TN to check that all the necessary preparations had been made and also had time to pop into the shops to get a gift for this babu. Must say that Pooja too looked very beautiful in her outfit. In fact both looked absolute adorable. Loved the huge exchanged between father and son. I like that Komal went to apologise to Prats for her behaviour, but anyone else notice that Prats referred to Komal as 'Komal didi' not 'Komal bhabi'? Is this an indication that Komal may just be Prats didi and no longer a bhabi in the not too distance future? Will Adarsh be serving Komal a set of her own divorce papers? Could the change in her attitude towards Prats be so that she gets our sympathy when this happens instead of enjoy seeing that she gets her just desserts after the way she treated Prats and instigating Amma? Hopefully we'll see a better relationship forming between these two sister-in-laws.
The dance sequence was ok, but nothing special and quite lukewarm. It got better when the happy couple joined in but still wasn't enough to get my full attention or my heart pumping. I did like the eye lock between the two. Amma's reaction was expected when Prats went over to seek her blessings. The way she showed her discomfort at having Prats near her, the defiance and indifference, the smirk on her face when SS was praising Prats for her morals. She must have thanked her lucky stars when KN stepped in and let the cat of out the bag before she could be forced to give it.
Ok. Now coming to this whole SS and Ganga getting married. Not sure about the rest of you but why do I get the feeling that this is all a set-up. Why is it that I can not convince myself that SS would stoop so low, or more accurately that the CVs decided that SS, a very important character in MKAP, would be the chosen as the person to show this happening through SS. I still can not forget SS's dialogues, bellowing that he is not a characterless man and berating the others for their dirty thoughts regarding him and Ganga. Could this all be a part of the game? Is he doing this with the intention that Pratigya will be there to stop the marriage? Surely he didn't think that he would get away with marrying a girl old enough to be his grand-daughter whilst Prats was there. Even if the marriage had taken place before Prats arrival she would have objected and would have got Ganga out of it. Which leads me to believe that maybe this is aimed at attempting to change Amma's feelings towards Prats by having Prats fight on her behalf. We already saw in today's episode that Prats has forgiven Amma by showing her seeking Amma's blessing and SS firing her for not giving it. This marriage could be a last resort after seeing Amma's nautanki today. He knows that with Amma filled with jealousy and ego there will always be unrest in TN, so this will need to be destroyed and the only way to do this will be to change her opinion regarding Prats. Something has to happen to trigger the idea for the marriage as I don't believe that it is premeditated. So will wait and watch what the trigger will be and how the puppet master will play with his puppets.
