Hello POPs! It's been a while since our last editorial. This one comes with a urgency from your loyal viewers, the watchdogs of MKAP. First of all let us say thank you for the brilliant dialogues particularly those from the lips of Takur Krishna Singh. Kudos to some great story lines we, the viewers the world over appreciated very much. The last maha episode leading through Janmashtami and Krishna's budday to the consummation of Kriya's marriage was very well done and an entertaining delight. Krishna's style of street justice with Aman interfering and Prats's handling of the situation, Kesar's acceptance of Katra Naresh's second marriage and Krishna and Prats's first candlelit luncheon date were well received and worth watching. Kriya romance also provided comedic relief amidst some heavy drama at times. We look forward to more fascinating story tracks as we approach the first anniversary of MKAP next months.
Viewers are unable to stomach the disappointment in recent weeks. On behalf of all viewers around the globe please take our constructive criticism seriously and fix the leaks before this show ends up on the chopping block due to your oversight for that would indeed be a shame!
Seriously, this time around we have a laundry list of concerns to address. So let's get down to it. We are very concerned about the direction of this show in recent weeks. TRPs are dipping and it matches the sentiments of ardent viewers some of us who don't just watch the show for entertainment but have a serious discussion of the content and characters on a daily basis. We feel that you, POPs, in your zest to launch a new show for another network may have taken your eyes off the MKAP ball thereby compromising this show on many fronts. We hope this show does not end up being a casualty in the process.
You have all the factors needed to keep this show at #1 with a talented group of actors, writers penning unique and daring story tracks. You have a unique perspective on social issues that need addressing and capable of great story telling. The show is for all purposes still in its infancy and needs to be steered with care. We feel the overall production of the show is no longer up to its original standards. For those of us who have watched this unique show from the beginning it's a hard pill to swallow to see the show slide from it's initial excellence. It makes us question if temporary custody of this show has been handed over to a second tier team of producers across the board.
Let's address the basics first. When the show first came to air the entire production team gave us great episodes everyday. We understand that it is unrealistic to expect Krishna and a few other actors to carry the whole show on their shoulders day after day. Since the Janmashtami episodes, the show has been skidding and sliding around. Unpredictability is one of the hallmarks and charm of this show. Please keep the story tracks fresh and unique and the resolution unpredictable..
What's the story behind the make up and hair? When the show first went on air, the makeup was natural and the actors looked just fine. However recently their make-up makes it look like characters walked into a cloud of baking soda when they arrived on the sets. Why do actors have a white film on their faces these days? The actors also look tired and haggard. Why do Krishna and Katra Naresh look like they got out of a sick bed most of the time with their stubble? Krishna's haircut needs close monitoring on a regular basis
We are fully aware that new tracks must be opened to move the story tracks along but do we really need that many tracks heading nowhere that move in fits and starts just to act as fillers? Multiple tracks have been introduced in rapid succession some of which have been left hanging without resolution. Whatever happened to Sajjan Singh's election track or the school he opened in Pratigya's name? What is the situation with revealing the truth about attempts to burn Prats, Kesar's medical report after specialist consultation, is Adarsh going to recover from accident or is he tum-tum bound for life? What is GD going to do with the truth Kesar shared with her? What happened to Kesar's trip to her maike? Why is Komal and Adarsh's marriage stuck in first gear? Some tracks are rushed through with in a week while others are needlessly stretched for weeks giving us filler episodes day after day. Let's get the show back to it's original pace in storytelling.
Let's talk about editing and post-production. Recently there have been bloopers almost every week. What was once a random event has now become a regular occurance. The editing has overall been amateurish and shoddy in recent months. We'd like to see coherent and clean editing of scenes. Is it too much to expect the finished product to have all it's "i''s dotted and "t"s crossed? It's all in the details after all. These simple oversights do not spell a concerted effort in the production of the show. A case in point', why does Mr. Behll's stubble appear and disappear within the scene?
Can we see the actors move around naturally rather than stand on their marked spots while the other characters speak their lines? Continuity in scenes from episode to episode is often missing. We see a conflict at the end of an episode yet the next day everything seems hunky-dory between the characters as if nothing happened. What gives? Our curious minds want to know, so please attend to it.
What happened to the two most popular characters on the show'. Krishna and SS? Why have they been unnecessarily tampered with to the point that their core characters are being compromised? Where did the shrewd SS go? Krishna is the blood and breath of this show, to tinker with his character to a point that at times it is hard to recognize the man is unacceptable to us the viewers who largely tune in to watch the fascinating character that he is. Does being in love mean a man loses his self-confidence and core personality? We think not. It's hard to swallow that Krishna has gone from being a shrewd, pragmatic, self-confident man to Prats pet poodle most of the time. Can we please see some normal, sensible conversations between Kriya like any regular couple rather than a one-sided baashan? We'd also like to see Krishna do something with his time besides getting cozy with Prats. We are eagerly awaiting Krishna's comeback.
As one of our posters said '''.Pratigya needs to stop talking to the audience and start incorporating her speeches in conversation. They have no effect and seem that she is preaching to us on what is right and wrong. Please stop making her have all the answers and stop making her so ignorant that she cant see the treatment of her family towards K. For me her love has to be proved and it feels one sided love and not two. On serious issues she still goes alone and discards K. If you love and he is able to help and bring solution then take it. Please make her also play second fiddle to K at times. It should not be always P taking lead and K following. Make the relationship equal, if cant then let them take turns to be dominant.
SS, Takurain and Krishna are actors who can carry their roles well. How about we see our talented Takurain Sumitra Singhs sing a song instead of the single note of taunting Prats for any and every reason. The Takurs alone cannot be expected to carry the entire show. As one of our popular posters on our forum wrote "If the actors are unable to deliver the content... make them sweat, let them rehearse until they are perfect. What is the purpose of the director? Not merely watching the monitor, he should extract their best performance from them. You can't always rely on Thakurs to keep this show running, they have to be supported by able cast too. If she can't act teach her, train her, give her rehearsal's, train her. POPs, if u want to continue rolling pay attention to all the stars and also on the post-production works.
We hope to see the show return to its #1 spot by the time the first anniversary arrives, which is just around the corner. So good luck, and all the best to you POPs. We are early anticipating great episodes in the weeks, months and years ahead.
So long! Until next time''''..
