I have tried and tried but couldn't wrap my head around the idea that the thought of delicate sensibilities and confused sense of duties in Krishna's mind should have taken precedence in Pratigya's decisions over that of senseless loss of life and basic human dignity of an innocent, defenceless woman.
There is a reason why 65% of domestic violence cases go unreported. It's because the peripheral players in such cases are reluctant to get involved. Kesar has the classic case of "Battered woman syndrome" - The condition explains why abused people may not seek assistance from others, fight their abuser, or leave the abusive situation. Sufferers may have low self-esteem , and are often led to believe that the abuse is their fault. Such persons may refuse to press charges against their abuser, or refuse all offers of help, perhaps even becoming aggressive or abusive to others who attempt to offer assistance. In such situations it is upto the witnesses to take up cudgels for the abused woman. Nothing can be more precious and worth fightng for than human life and dignity.

I am finding fault at the haste of her action and also her interference in what is essentially Kesar's fight....

let us not forget that the victim here is Kesar ..it is about her..the desire for justice , for seeking freedom shud come from her and shud not be enforced on her .....and the case of Pratigya and Kesar are entirely different ..Pratigya can survive if thrown out of TN..she has education and parental support ...but on the other hand ,Kesar does not have anything ...the pathetic and helpless condition of Kesar is evident when she is brought back to the same house which smote her baby's life, the same house where her abuser lives, ...what will Kesar do if thrown out of TN ??

secondly..it has been said that Kesar has lost everything now..so she has not got anything to lose ..she must fight ..I beg to differ..Kesar still has her life , she still is surviving..she survived 4 deaths, she will survive this too ....[I just hate this boundaries employed on women..why is it considered that motherhood is the ultimate achievement of woman, if she does not have a motherhood, then she is incomplete ,or has lost everything..woman are human too, they too have a life beyond being a wife or a mother..Motherhood is not a be all and end all of woman ,woman have achieved a lot without being a mother, A woman's life is her own and cannot be judged on the parameters of being a good wife or a exemplary Mother ]and where will she live ?? At Sax house ....in some shelter or at her Husband's house ...and do you think , she will be looked on benevolently if she continues her case ....and if she chooses Shelter, will she be allowed to leave and live ??.....Kesar has to think of many things before she can take any action...and If she is ready to go ahead , then she must be ready to face the consequence ....I am still not sure whether she is ready for that ,,,,and pushing her now into a course when she is not ready will only destroy her..She has to fight ,the rage ,the will, the determination has to come from within her ..Pratigya has to be the motivator , the voice of conscience and not the warrior fighting on behalf of the victim..esp when the victim is uncaring about the outcome...

I will support PRatigya, when Kesar wants to fight and Pratigya stands by her ...
I support Pratigya action. Kesar does not stand up for herself because she feels that she is all alone. She has even stated that if she died she in not sure her family will know about it. Her family has completely abandoned her. I hope by this action she realizes that Pratigya will support her. Yes there is life for a woman beyond being a mother. But not for woman Kesar who are brain washed into this kind of mentality. I hope that she does not fall for these crocodile tears. Because Amma and Shakti are never going to change. Shakti will continue to abuse her till she dies. So its best that she understands this. I hope she finds the strenght to move to a shelter and pursue the FIR.

@ Relda 👏

When people like you come forward with knowledge and resolve to speak and stand for what is right gives a ray of hope that some day women like Kesar can live the precious gift of life the way a woman should, who enjoys the love and care she deserves from all the relationships that she is surround with.

i don't see how pratigya helped kesar.
kesar is again sleeping in the same room as her would have been murderer and the murderer of her child. if pratigya had walked out of that hell hole with kesar, helped her to stand on her two feet, or atleast convinced her to get some *stree sangathna* help that could impact SS's election campaign, that would be of some help.
a wiser woman would have taken the help of her father in law to keep shakti in check.
all pratigya has done is made kesar's life far more complicated.

@ Birju in red: very very well written 👏👏👏👏👏.....I myself is confused as to why some members feel that whatever Prats did was wrong....Thakurs were way beyonf their limit this time and they badly needed to teach them a lesson and by going SS's dialogue and the way he was trying to emotionally blackmailed Krishna, it seems like it worked. He was petrified at the idea of the consequences they might have to face if the compaint has not been withdrawn😊. and this was the only language they seem to understand...I think whatever Prats did was absolutely CORRECT...

Unfortunately that is the sad reality for many womem like Kesar. Society forces them to go back and live with the abusers. Asking SS in no use. He does not value a womans life. Kesar life is already a living hell. Shakti's ultimate goal is to get rid of her. He would have been happy if she had also died. Even if Pratigya had kept quiet the abuse would have continued. I hope now they will think twice before they abuse her like this again. Atleast it has given them a realization that someone is brave enough to stand up against the mighty SS.
