For all practical purposes, Krishna is under the impression that Pratigya was kept over night and Angad must have used her for that night...It is a general trend in that Crime...If a girl gets Kidnapped, most of the time (say 99%) gets raped...

So when he said she is his wife, he supported her despite him under the impression that she is not pure. That takes a lot of love and courage from a man to accept that his wife is not pure given the family and the society he lives in...

Till date men expects their wife to be pure before the marriage in India...Of course, here Pratigya was a victim for no fault of her. So it's Krishna's inner fight between his love for pratigya vs his expectation. We easily say it should not matter in love if Pratigya has a bad history because she was the victim...she did not wrong...
But its a great deal for a MAN...even in the west what we refer as a progressed society, men do not come forward to marry such victims so openly...

Rightchoice, agree with you word for word.😊
The fight is between Krishna's love for what he thought Pratigya was and what he now knows she is...........That case was a shambles, really wish the CVs had done this properly i.e. when she mentioned the kidnapping, she should have been cross examined as to did something happen? was she raped?...these are the logical Qs....in fact we get mute and see Krishna leaving but for heaven's sake....what was said?!!...
People who say that it doesn't matter, Krishna should accept her as it is....Sorry, but it doesn't work like that in real life...not even in the west (I live in the UK).....the same doubts and accusations will be faced......The making of a person is how they respond and react to the news though.
This is where we will see Krishna's true colour....we know a bit from the promo....his love for her is very strong, he loves her more than his own life.......He has already supported her yesterday by once again declaring 'she is my wife'...this time though the pride is gone, the voice shaky as if he is now doubting everything even that which he was very sure of....But the Qs is: where will he stand with her or away from her?......society and his families expectations have always differed from his own when it comes to Pratigya....

RC and dreamygal,

agree with most of the things you have said but i wld like to say that not all people hesitate to get involved with rape victims because of the loss of chastity but because such victims are scared and it is easy to sympathize with them than live with them.

As far as Krishna's state of mind goes I think it has hurt him more because she didn't trust him enough to tell him the mishap in her life. If you come to think of his dealing with the majdoor and his wife he constantly talked about betrayal not about the majdoor's wife's purity . He feels betrayed by Pratigya. If Pratigya had told him before he wld have killed Angad for hurting her and sympathized with her

KC,
Yes, you are right...I also add that chastity may not be a factor in west but it is a big deal in India till date and especially in rural areas...they even marry rape victims to the abuser to solve the issue...

In Majdoor's case, the betrayal was initiated by Majdoor's wife...but here Pratigya has not betrayed Krishna in the same sense. Her betrayal is she kept secretes from him even after the marriage...thats the betrayal as wife and she really didn't have any control over situation...suppose if she had gone back to Angad after the kidnapping or after marrying Krishna, that would have been the real betrayal in true sense...

I know of these things but that is very inhumane to get the victim married to the accused so that she gets reminded of the pain through out her life

He assumes that she was totally aware of who kidnapped her and went ahead and married him. It is quite normal for him to assume that she married him to save herself from social ridicule. Despite her cold behaviour towards him till now he still believed that she did have some feelings for him because she did choose to marry him. He doesn't think she was forced to marry him as there was no physical force. He already feels used and revelation of this fact has confirmed his believe. suppose if she had gone back to Angad after the kidnapping or after marrying Krishna, that would have been the real betrayal in true sense...

👏👏......Absolutely right. He is feeling used and abused, if you like.....When i reffered to his unsure voice when he said 'yeh hamara bibi hai'......for the very first time he said it if he wasn't certain of the fact.......we all have seen baba grabbing what opportunity he could to always remind her of their wedding, their saat peras and so on - it's because he is so proud, the only sure thing in his marriage......but now even that is gone..
But I'm taking heart from his speech to pratigya on that last morning, when she came with the aarti......he said he gets angry but never stays long for that....so yet again I hope it's like that. But he needs to know the whole truth....No more lies or secrets.

totally agree with this. he has lost faith in her that way. till now he attributed her cold behaviour towards him to her anger towards him. Today it has sunk in his head that she never really loved him and he was delusional till now.

Yes he meant it when he said that his anger never stays for long and we have seen this characteristic in his dealing with everybody be it Pratigya, his family, his in laws and for that matter even Angad. But this time it is just not anger because someone doesn't agree with him but extreme hurt and pain turned to anger. It wll take time. Yes the whole truth needs to come out

If you look at the Pratigya forum section where articles are archives, there is one that came out last week or so, where it says Krishna finds out the truth in court and towards the end it mentions that the marriage is consummated...😊
