One question that I've never been able to answer, is what exactly is the soul of India these days. But now the country is in such a rapid transition that it doesn't seem to have any unifying principle.

Our traditional culture that formed during the thousands of years -- the religions, values, virtue, morals and spirit of the nation -- is that the soul of India?

What does everybody think will emerge as India's new ideal? Will it simply be "work hard and get rich"?

Nice Topic!!

Change is a part of development ,change itself is an indication for development.Changing without losing the basic essence is real progress.India will emerge as a super power in near future only on the basis of this factor.Indians can adapt to any change ,they are optimistic.

Defining soul of India is as tough as defining soul of an individual.

Cheers,

Unity in diverse Cultural India in itself defines what 'Soul of India' is. In other words, the 'Soul of India' is in 'Soil of India'.
If only everyone could be like APJ Abdul Kalam - a man aiming for the skys(literally) but stuck to the soil of his motherland, to the core!!

A very nice topic indeed👏

Its tough to define the soul of India or for that matter the term soul itself..Its different things to different people..To me the soul of India is its people and its rich culture...

It does seem like the new ideal is simply going to be 'work hard and get rich'..However there is a lot of underlying synergy co-ordinated with that 'work hard' principle..A lot gets covered with that..I would say that is one thing that is going to take India into a better world...

I think soul of India is Unity In Diversity and the sustenance of Indians.

Take any country in the world and compare to our India. None would have progressed even 10% as far as India has progressed with so many divers cultures, languages, religions, and customs.

Mumbai is the best example of sustenance. People pick themselves up after any natural/man-made disaster without waiting for any help from the government.

Take corruption out of Indian politics and no one can stop India from reaching at the top 😊
